The Vitamin Cure
CLINICALLY PROVEN REMEDIES TO PREVENT AND TREAT 75 CHRONIC DISEASES AND CONDITIONSCOMPLETELY REVISED AND UPDATED BASED ON NEW MEDICAL RESEARCHBased on over 40 years of research and hundreds of leading studies, The Vitamin Cure is a comprehensive guide to improving overall health with vitamin and essential element therapies.Modern medicine has done much in the field of acute conditions such as trauma, infections, burn, and bone fractures, but it has limited success in treating chronic diseases, such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, cancer, and diabetes among others. At present, the root causes of most chronic diseases are still unknown, and the drugs developed by pharmaceutical companies to treat chronic diseases actually treat only the symptoms rather than causes. According to Dr. Monte Lai, a nutrient deficient diet and unhealthy lifestyle are by far the two most important environmental factors associated with the causes of a host of chronic diseases. The Vitamin Cure provides a comprehensive overview of how vitamin and essential element therapies are the key to treating and preventing many of the chronic conditions. While the internet is chock full of health related information about vitamins and essential elements, it is difficult to sort through all available information to build a reliable knowledge base to improve health. The aim of this book is to provide readers with easily accessible evidence-based knowledge about vitamins and essential elements for prevention and treatment of chronic diseases. The Vitamin Cure relies on a statistical method known as meta-analysis (combining data from multiple studies) that is currently the most reliable method for assessing the efficacy of vitamins or essential elements in preventing or treating chronic diseases. The Vitamin Cure brings clinically proven remedies to light for any reader looking to improve overall health and prevent debilitating disease. This book contains five parts: Part one contains a brief history of the discovery of each of the thirteen essential vitamins, namely, vitamin A, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin B3, vitamin B5, vitamin B6, vitamin B7, vitamin B9, vitamin B12, vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin E, and vitamin K. It also presents meta-analytic evidence of the efficacy of each vitamin in prevention and treatment of diseases, its recommended daily allowance and best food sources. Part two covers essential elements, including the five essential elements, i.e., calcium, potassium, sodium, magnesium and phosphorous, and the eight essential trace elements, i.e., iron, zinc, manganese, copper, molybdenum, iodine, chromium and selenium. It also presents meta-analytic evidence of the efficacy of each essential element in prevention and treatment of diseases, its recommended daily allowance and best food sources. Part three explains important secrets for staying healthy. These include explanation of how sugar makes you fat, why patients with autoimmune diseases should not eat meat, and how exercise benefits the brain? Part four provides meta-analysis evidence of which vitamins and essential elements should be taken to prevent and/or treat seventy-five chronic diseases and conditions. These seventy-five chronic diseases and conditions include lung cancer, breast cancer, colorectal cancer, prostate cancer, endometrial cancer, blood cancer, bladder cancer, glioma, diabetes, stroke, heart disease, cataracts, hypertension, Alzheimer's disease, osteoporosis, arthritis, hepatitis C, fatty liver disease, Parkinson's disease, sleep apnea, and others. Part five summarizes clinically proven remedies for preventing and treating the seventy-five chronic diseases and conditions presented in Part four.

Oh Give Me a Home
From Author Jane Kurtz, winner of the School Library Journal Best Of The Year and numerous other awards. In verse, Oh Give Me a Home relates the story of a girl's inside-out view of America as she journeys from Ethiopia, searches for friends and belonging.Kirkus Starred Review Selected as a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Book. In elementary school, Jane knows that Maji, Ethiopia, cool and green, perched on a mountainside of waterfalls and monkeys, is the perfect place to live. Or it would be perfect if she had a pet or a best friend.Jane is full of ideas that include schemes for an animal to play with. A real pet, not the dik dik that dies, the monkey that tries to bite her fingers, nor the elusive cat that lives in the shed and has just absconded with her litter of kittens. But her plans are derailed as Jane learns she is to move back to America with her family.America and Africa collide as Jane tries to answer the simple question, "Where am I from?" Entering grade school in suburban America for the first time, will she find a best friend a continent away from her real life in Africa? Or is America-where she meets her relatives for laughter and frolicking and big holiday meals-her real home? "Free verse perfectly captures Janie's thought processes-wistful, scattered, at once self-centered and keenly attuned to others' emotions. This youthful perspective makes Kurtz's recollections from years ago feel fresh and immediate. A buoyant, beautiful explication of cultural adjustment as seen through a child's eyes." - Kirkus"Jane Kurtz's touching memoir in verse Oh Give Me a Home is about belonging and sisterhood. [...] Her examinations of the world through small creatures are [...] examples of the purity of her perspective, as when she refers to a toy dinosaur as a "prehistoric pet." Intelligible and swift, it's a steady, introspective text that showcases profound personal changes and family love. Oh Give Me a Home is a tender and accessible memoir centered in growing up in a changing world." - Foreword Reviews

Will’s Adventure to the Candy Mountain
"Follows a young boy as he embarks on a magical journey to Candy Ville. During his travels, he discovers how being a good and respectful person can really pay off."- Foreword Reviews"Dr. Gerry Haller's picture book story, Will's Adventure to the Candy Mountain, is an entertaining story for young readers.... The story is sweet (not candy sweet) and simple, but the message is clear: life is full of sweet offerings, but friendship and kindness are more important than sweet treats. One has to always be courteous. Beautifully told and presented."- Emily-Jane Hills Orford, Readers' Favorite"Gerry Haller's gentle tale is inspired by stories she told to her grandson. Her vivid descriptions of Candy Mountain's "gumdrops of many colors, candy canes, gingerbread men and women all over the branches of the tree" will charm young readers. Cho's colorful, dreamy paintings of giant lollipop trees and ice cream-coated mountaintops complement the story. Adults will appreciate that the book celebrates and rewards good behavior.... Full of wonder but lacking tension, the narrative is a pleasant read-aloud. Placid and relaxing, Will's ramble through Candy Mountain is sure to inspire sweet dreams. This relaxing journey through a land of treats is a pleasant low-key bedtime story for young children."- BookLife Review"A story that uses timely topics, up-to-date story concepts, and creates an integration of the child and the reader to go on a journey together. The story takes us on an adventure that lightens our senses with the words and beautiful artwork. A story that creates a new experience with magic, dreams, and wonderment. To learn compassion from a child's point of view also allows the parent, grandparent, or reader to also explore how they too can become more compassionate. What a wonderful engagement of souls."- Dr. Jeanette Gallagher, ND Blogspot Radio"The full-page illustrations by YM Cho are colorful and fun. Children will love looking at the pages. I enjoyed counting the numerous kinds of candies and saw all my favorites pictured there. My favorite things were the lessons the story cleverly taught. When Will gets on the train, he immediately finds another boy, named Quinn, sitting alone. Will introduces himself, and the pair become new friends. The children are well-mannered and courteous, always saying please and thanking the gingerbread people for their help. The train conductor tells the children they must return to the train when it blows its whistle. Will and Quinn rush back from their adventures, not wanting to be late. Also, only good children are allowed to pass through Candy Mountain's gate. Friendship, politeness, punctuality, and exemplary behavior are all valuable lessons for children to learn."- OnlineBookClub.org"Gifted educator and author Dr. Gerry Haller presents a delicious and wholesome fantasy story that will touch the hearts of readers of all ages in her new children's picture book Will's Adventure to the Candy Mountain. More than just a sweet experience, the entertaining story also instills the importance of being a good and kind person, as well as the benefits that can be gained with it."- Motherhood-Moment.blogspot.com, Book Nook"Readers will be asking for seconds (of reading the book again, that is) after they finish this charming story and will be reminded that good things come to those who are respectful and considerate."- Groovin Moms

JESUS, The Head of the Church!
The Church is the called-out body of believers who live according to the doctrine and teachings of JESUS CHRIST. Erroneously, people refer to 'the church' as a physical building. Before JESUS ascended to the FATHER, He promised to establish His Kingdom on earth (Matthew 16:18-19). Not only did JESUS conquer death, hell, and the grave, He also created an avenue by which He could fellowship with those who would be blessed to enter His kingdom. On the Day of Pentecost, Jesus fulfilled that promise (Acts 2:1-47). After hearing Peter's gospel sermon, about 3,000 people were added to The Church JESUS established. Those believers who obeyed the gospel that day became its first members. The Church was also known as the Bride of Christ (Ephesians 5:23-27). CHRIST'S Church was and still is His first and only wife.
