Every Cell In My Body
In this second book in the Self-Empowerment for All Ages series, the concepts of Awareness, Inner Being, and Imagination are introduced. I expand on the Breath as a tool to go inside and calm the monkey mind. Although this book is directed toward preteens and teens, the entire family will benefit from discussions that arise out of these words imbued with wisdom. The images in this book were chosen from my garden gallery for their symbolic connection with the ideas on each page. My hope is that this book plants seeds in the garden of your family, and that you water them with Love, feed them with Joy, and shine the Light of Appreciation on them. They will grow and blossom and awaken to their own inner power, and perhaps one day BE the cells in the body of a new earth.

Embracing the Dawn
I found myself at a gun counter to purchase the weapon I would use to kill myself. At the last moment, I decided instead to check myself into the Ohio State University Hospital emergency department. At the intake desk, I simply said, "I need help. I'm planning to kill myself." Anything that I might use to harm myself, belt, shoestrings, ink pens, was removed and they placed me in a room with soft walls, but they didn't seem very interested in what was actually happening in my life. I was diagnosed as suffering from a major depressive disorder, prescribed medication, given a safety plan, and an appointment with a psychiatrist. They called one of my friends to meet with us. Then, they discharged me. The profound crises in my life all had been reduced to a mental illness with a pharmacological fix. Suicidal thinking is the result of multiple factors, including the experience of unbearable, inescapable, and isolating pain. Suicide is a means of coping with that pain. This book of daily readings is focused on the healing process. It is only one element of a larger recovery plan that may include family, friends, mental health professionals, mentors, and, in some cases, medication. As you engage in these readings exercise faith in your own healing process. Suicidal thoughts don't usually develop overnight, and they don't retreat quickly. We must keep doing our daily readings and give the Spirit time.

Converting Enemies into Friends
By practicing forgiveness and communicating openly and honestly, people can establish healthier relationships with one another.Sometimes, close friends can become strangers-or, even worse, enemies. Because there is no outward way of discerning who is an enemy and who is an ally, people must rely on their own instincts-and keep an eye out for consistently problematic behaviors. Indeed, enemies often reveal themselves through their actions. Manipulation, peer pressure, inflated confidence, a penchant for gossip, and dishonesty are all trademarks of toxic people. Too frequently, people fall into unhealthy, codependent friendships, and they don't know whether they should fix the relationship or walk away for good. Learning how to recognize and address these harmful behaviors can prevent a friendship from becoming unsalvageable.Maintaining friendships is never easy in the best of times, but if someone feels as though their friend is actively deceiving, exploiting, belittling, or controlling them, then they have one of two options. They can either remove themselves from the relationship, or they can try and repair the relationship. If they choose the former, it is important to be as gracious as possible; after all, former friends don't have to-and shouldn't-become enemies. If they choose the latter, both parties must be willing to forgive, accept each other's boundaries, and communicate more openly with one another. With this book, people will learn how to identify and confront toxic behaviors before they ruin a friendship.

He used a shepherd and his brother to lead a nation of slaves in opposition to the most powerful ruler of the world's most powerful kingdom. What Was the Tabernacle?
God gave the Israelites the tabernacle as a place to worship him, but also as a wonderful picture that points to Jesus. Although God had rescued his people out of slavery in Egypt, they rebelled against him and worshipped other gods. So God gave Moses rules to teach his people how to love God and each other. He also gave him instructions for how to build a moveable temple for the Lord. This tent provided a way for the Israelites to serve and worship God his way, in reverence and awe. But the tabernacle was also full of symbols that pointed to Jesus - when God became a man and lived amongst his people. Danika Cooley, homeschool mom and curriculum developer, shows how understanding this place of worship is as important for Christians today as it was for the Israelites. The Who, What, Why series explores the lives, concepts, and movements that have shaped the lives of God's people throughout history. Amos and God's Roaring Voice
An attractive storybook retelling of the book of Amos which will introduce 7-10-year-olds to the major lessons from this minor prophet. In a land filled with good things, there lived a shepherd named Amos. God called him to tell His people that He had seen the bad things they were doing - and the pain and suffering they caused. Although God had been so kind to Israel, and tried to warn them again and again, they mistreated people and rejected God's word. Amos brings them a warning of judgement - but also a message of hope. Brian Wright and John Brown show how Amos's prophecy ultimately points to Jesus. This minor prophet offers major lessons, teaching readers about repentance and promoting justice, two aspects of the Christian life as essential today as when Amos first wrote.

Swords and Shadows
God loves you. You should know this already. Satan hates you. Did you know that? Perhaps you understand this simply from living in this world, even if you have not heard it preached to you. Satan hates you and, with all the demons, is dedicating his existence to bringing your life into ruin. Sorry, but it's true, and you need to know, as I wish I had known when I was young. We are in a spiritual battle with Satan and his demons. God, however, is fighting with and for us, and His grace and strength are unmatched, and will appear in our lives in miraculous ways.I wasn't born with a sword in my hand, but I wish I had been. It would have spared me a lot of pain. Not only would I have known, in my youth, that I was being attacked and provoked by Satan to reject God and embrace a life of sin, but I would have also known that the Church has a storehouse of spiritual weapons and is eagerly trying to get them into my hands. Unarmed, I turned away from God and embraced a worldly life which led to misery and pain - until God appeared and changed the story. As a high school Theology teacher, I have desired to give the real Truth to my students. I pray this book accomplishes the same. Let your eyes be opened. See the truth about your life and let Christ set you free from the dragon and his shadows. Charles D. Galatians for Teen
The Epistle to Galatians, written by St. Paul, is a fascinating letter that discusses the complex themes and issues that the early church Christians faced. Throughout this Epistle, Paul discusses his apostolic authority, the Old Covenant and New Covenant, the work of the Holy Spirit and the life of faith. As we read through Galatians together, we will see Paul's passion in his ministry and his message of staying true to the gospel during a period of uncertainty for Galatia, as Jewish members of the law attempt to infiltrate the Church with old Jewish practices. Yet the beauty of this epistle lies in its relevance to today's society. In an age where information is mass-produced and messages of truth are often contradictory, Paul's letter is a triumphant reminder to stay true to the foundation given to us through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
