The Adventures of Left-Hand Island
This book is the 24th in the continuing series of books called 'The adventures of Left-Hand Island.' This book may perhaps be the most thrilling of them all. It may well be my favourite although I have created some pretty fun books in this series. Let me tell you a little about this specific adventure. Authors note Book 24 finds the children exploring the southern part of Left-Hand Island where they spot a small offshore island with a big mountain on it. A few animals warn that the mountain island is a volcano, but it may be far more than that as the story quickly unfolds into one rip roaring adventure. They encounter an evil creature that is big, bad and more brutally barbaric than anything they have ever come across. This monster is unparalleled in size and strength with no apparent weakness or mercy. So, to say "extremely dangerous" would be a huge understatement. There can be no hope of escape this time, for death and destruction follows in the wake of this monstrously evil creature.

For anyone who has ever felt different, Academy Award winner Alan Barillaro tells the deeply moving tale of a brave rabbit who sets out on a quest to save her home and family--no matter what it takes. When Bunns is born with small but perfectly functional rabbit ears, the warren is abuzz with auguries. Surely such short ears spell bad luck for the community. Sheltered in her family's burrow, Bunns listens to the rhythm of her mother's heartbeat--Thump, thump, thump--a song of home and belonging. Her father explains that unlike a rabbit's words or thumping feet, a heartsong cannot lie. But the unknown world of the meadow, the sounds and smells above, call to Bunns. When at last she's ready to brave the staring and whispering of neighbors who fear her because she's different, and the disapproving elders who threaten to banish her family, she finds a world beyond the warren where myths and riddles, magic voyages, and important new friends await. Can the "bad omen bunny" follow her own heartsong to a destiny--a wish--meant just for her? Academy Award-winning director, writer, and animator Alan Barillaro's graceful storytelling, warm illustrations, and dramatic graphic panels weave light and dark into a seamless tapestry to enchant children and adults alike.

Walking off on his own, Green Hippo suddenly notices the kaleidoscope of colors all around him in the meadow, and his sadness turns to happiness. He can't wait to share his discovery with his friends, who have their own surprise for him. In a touching story about friendship that doubles as a concept book about colors, Petr Hor獺cek brings his own brilliant palette to celebrating the differences among us--and the gift of being yourself.

The Diary of Elvis the Rabbit
This is the diary of Elvis the rabbit. Elvis is a ginger coloured double maned Lion head and is as smart as any cat. This diary is hopefully amusing but it also explains how to really look after rabbits. They are not suited to putting in a cage in the back garden, they need space and they need company. I have obviously helped Elvis type up his diary, he is bit clumsy where keyboards are involved and inclined toward chewing cables. This is a day to day account of Elvis' new life inside a house, and how he adapted. This diary will hopefully also be slightly educational rabbit owning wise. I am very lucky that Elvis has allowed me to share his life and his house and let me be his slave.

Catnip Mouse
A disagreement between two animal friends turns into a laugh-out-loud word game with heart.Vera (the cat) is happily playing alone with her catnip mouse when Gipp (the dog) desperately tries to join the fun. When she doesn't respond, Gipp decides he'll impress her with his magic wand but instead accidentally destroys Vera's toy! Attempting to cheer her up, Gipp offers to use his wand to replace the catnip mouse, suggesting a series of fantastical rhyming alternatives. Would Vera like a ketchup joust? No. A cattle blouse? No! How about a cactus house? NO! Vera's had enough. And soon neither of them has their favorite toy. Is there some way the friends can patch things up?Writer and illustrator A. J. Smith has created a delightfully silly picture book filled with inventive language and fanciful images. This entertaining rhyming word game is tucked inside a warm and satisfying emotional story about friendship and compromise. The story will appeal to children who like to play alone, those who long to be included - and those who go back and forth depending on the day. A perfect read-aloud, this fun book could inspire children to make up their own rhymes or even create their own rhyming game. It also could lead to discussions on topics such as cooperation, communication and different ways to play, and would support character education lessons on kindness and empathy.
Strange Creatures
An entertaining contemporary fable with a stark and timely message about conservation. One day, while all the forest animals are at a party, their homes disappear. Shocked and devastated, they try to make do. But when that doesn't work, they go searching for their homes and discover they've been cut into pieces by some strange creatures. The animals try to explain to the creatures that they need their homes. Only, they won't listen. Luckily, the creatures' small guardians do listen, and they help the animals come up with a plan to get their homes back. As wild as the idea is, it just might be the thing that finally gets the creatures' attention! With spare text and busy, colorful illustrations, Crist籀bal Le籀n and Cristina Sitja Rubio have created a deceptively simple tale full of surprising turns and poignant moments that's sure to open young children's eyes about how humans' actions affect other creatures in the world. The playful and irreverent tone keeps the story fun while it imparts a critical environmental message about habitat destruction. Uniquely described from the animals' point of view, this book is a great discussion starter about the importance of conserving our natural environments. The book would align well with life-science lessons on habitats and the needs of living things.
