Aunt Connie’s Favorite Animals at the Zoo
When I was a little girl growing up in rural Oklahoma, our family lived hours away from the nearest zoo. We didn't get to visit the animals that we're going to read about in this book. We had horses, cows, dogs, and cats at our house but no elephants, bears, lions, or tigers. The animals at the zoo are too big and too wild for us to take home as pets so that's why it's fun to see pictures and read about them in books. When animals are brought to the zoo, the zookeepers make every effort to keep them happy. They learn all about what the animals eat and how they like to sleep so they can create an environment that suits each animal. The zookeepers are specialized and highly trained how to keep themselves safe while they're feeding and taking care of the animals. Sometimes, the large animals are kept in pens or an enclosed area so they won't harm people.Have you been to the zoo? I wonder which animals you like the best. Curl up while you think about your favorites and listen as we read Aunt Connie's Favorite Animals at the Zoo.

Endless Journey
Endless Journey has twenty one poems written by Sumedha Jena. About the poems of this book Sumedha says, "A majority of the poems written in this book aren't from my own experiences, rather they are from seeing other people experience something similar. A lot of the poems are also exaggerated to give the reader a better understanding and insight about what they're reading. At a young age, I realized that life is not always a happy journey, and that one has to always endure hardships along the way in order to reach a successful point in their life. I wrote these poems targeting anybody who has gone through something similar in life. I felt like if I write poetry based on these topics, someone might be able to relate to them. This book is basically about the transition of coming out of a dark, angry, and an unhappy place into a more radiant world."

This Rock, That Rock
To celebrate 50 years since the first moon landing by Apollo 11 in 1969, here is an original collection of 50 poems. In his poems Dom tells us of two incredible things--the Moon is incredible: it controls our tides, to give us 24-hour days, and it keeps our planet stable enough to have seasons. Dom reminds us that poetry too is incredible because it is the most flexible form of expressing ourselves and has been always how we used to tell stories, particularly about our ways of seeing this incredible Moon. The Moon is an inspiring rock of possibilities. To tell us this, Dom uses lots of poetry forms: short poems and long ones, silly ones and serious ones. There are haiku and sonnets, acrostics and shapes. He uses kennings and metaphors and slang. He uses established rhythms which you might find in older poems and he uses the rhythms he hears in his head when his son smiles at him. So take up the challenge: Read the poems, fly to the moon, land on it, orbit it. Go to walk on it, live on it, steal it, eat it!
