Poquoson Families
This text comprises the expanded second edition of the Poquoson Watermen (originally published in 1988), presenting a single surname study of the Forrest family of Messick, Poquoson, York County, Virginia. Data has been drawn from official censuses, the York County Marriage Book, family histories, handwritten documents in the possession of family members and oral family traditions. The three Poquoson Forrest families included in this volume have been greatly expanded upon since being the subject of a single chapter in the 1988 volume. Every census record known to pertain to the Poquoson Forrests has been abstracted and cited, and the text follows each family from its earliest mention in the colonial era to the present. Individual chapters are devoted to the descendants of Abraham Forrest of Matthews County (c1780-c1865), Thomas Humphrey Forrest (c1800-c1846), Abraham Forrest of Poquoson (1812-c1873), Henry Harry Forrest (1818-1904), Henry Nathaniel Forrest (1814-c1880) and Thomas Humphrey Forrest (1835-1913). A bibliography of published works on the Poquoson District, a list of Poquoson graduates of the Virginia Military Institute, a full name index and numerous illustrations enhance the text. Mr. Willett is related to most of the Poquoson families through his maternal Martin and Hopkins ancestors; he is a family history researcher and recognized authority on the Willett surname and on his maternal families of Poquoson, York County, Virginia.

This 2nd book of the series contains many heretofore unknown probate records from the Colonial and Revolutionary period. The Ordinary's Journal contains references to Testate and Intestate state records and some Marriage Licenses. The Letters of Administration are recently discovered intestate records. This volume covers the Wills and Administrations for the Entire State for this period.

An Ordinary of Arms vol. III 1971-2017
Interest in Scots heraldry is at an all-time peak. Balfour Paul's Ordinary of Arms (1903 edition) had some 5,500 entries covering the 230 years from 1672 to 1902. Reid and Wilson's Ordinary Volume II added another 6,000, representing 72 years up to 1973. Now, after not much more than a quarter of a Century, there are almost another 5,000. That just refers to Arms actually granted. Warrior Mountains Folklore
Many years ago, Rickey Butch Walker took his tape recorder and camera and systematically began interviewing some of the oldest living descendants of the pioneer families of the Warrior Mountains of northwest Alabama. No price can be put on the stories that he recorded. He captured snapshots of Americana and family history that would have been lost forever. These historical sketches and photographs will be revered forever by the descendants of the families who lived on mountain farms in one of Alabama's most rugged back country. His down-to-earth style of writing is reminiscent of summer afternoons that I have spent in a front porch chair captivated and fascinated by listening to old timers telling of the old days and the old ways. Nine Generations from Dr. Thomas Wynne
Nine Generations from Dr. Thomas Wynne documents and explores the author's father's family history and genealogy from its earliest American immigrant, Dr. Thomas Wynne, to its ninth generation. Dr. Wynne, a member of the Welsh gentry, was an early Quaker convert who was persecuted and jailed for his beliefs. He became acquainted with William Penn, also a convert, became his personal physician, and in 1681 purchased 5000 acres in Penn's new province of Pennsylvania. In 1682, they sailed together on the ship Welcome to the new town of Philadelphia. Dr. Wynne's only son, Jonathan, inherited Dr. Wynne's properties and established Wynnestay, a stone mansion still occupied in West Philadelphia and considered to be the oldest house in Philadelphia. Jonathan's son established himself in Chester County and had six sons, all of whom fought in the Revolutionary War. Each member of the nine generations in the family line is described in a genealogical sketch and each of the families is placed in its historical setting. Includes appendices, illustrations, images, charts, maps, bibliography, and index. Full color.
