Unspoken Words
Through an extensive amount of research, the author discovered her ancestral connections to the Mayflower pilgrims John Alden and Priscilla Mullins. Her research proved an unbroken ancestral line from John Alden to herself. After gathering the needed sources, she submitted eight generations of family records to the General Society of Mayflower Descendants and became an approved member of the Society, located in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Using much of the genealogical sources she collected while researching her Mayflower roots, she created the book "Unspoken Words: A Descendant of Stillwater Pioneers Discovers Her Ancestors." In addition to the genealogical sources she used while writing the book, she also includes many newspaper articles beginning in the 1850s for the reader to put themselves in the respective era within the book. In addition, she includes stories from extended family members as well as her own writings, for a creative non-fiction element. The story of her ancestors begins in Bangor, Maine with the pioneers moving to Stillwater, Minnesota in the mid-1850s. The story continues with the pioneer families marriages, births, celebrations, and deaths, spanning over 150 within the town of Stillwater, regarding the lives of these pioneer families and their descendants. The majority of the story takes place in Stillwater, Minnesota; however, there are parts within the book where St. Paul, Minnesota is mentioned and also featured.

The diary of the 'Blue Nuns', or, Order of the Immaculate Conception of Our Lady, at Paris, 1658-1810
A rare, unvarnished account from inside a Parisian convent across a century and a half. Lives recorded with quiet intensity. The diary of the 'Blue Nuns', or the Order of the Immaculate Conception of Our Lady, at Paris, 1658-1810 gathers the quotidian and the monumental into a single, disciplined voice: prayer and penance, governance and charity, private sorrow and communal resilience. As a historical religious memoir and religious order biography it gives sustained access to monastic life in Paris, offering readers more than dates and events; it offers texture: routines of the cloister, decisions of the convent, and the small human choices that defined an enclosed community. Joseph Gillow's edition makes these materials readable for a modern audience without flattening their original tone, inviting casual readers seeking vivid period detail, classic-literature collectors curating heritage shelves, and specialists tracing Catholic convent history. Its literary and historical significance is considerable. The diary contributes to French Catholic heritage and serves as a primary window onto Paris religious communities and into the lived reality of nuns in 17th-century France and of Catholic women's orders. For scholars of religious history and for genealogists and historians pursuing parish, family or institutional lines, the diary offers rare material. At once intimate and documentary, the text enriches studies of gender, piety and social networks while also rewarding anyone drawn to lived history. Beyond its documentary value, the diary has a quiet literary quality: the steady, observant voice of convent record-keeping produces moments of surprising intimacy and clarity. Local historians and readers interested in 17th-century France will find vivid material to illuminate narratives of belief, community and social practice. Whether consulted by scholars of religious history or by genealogists and historians tracing family ties, the volume repays patient reading and occasional browsing. Out of print for decades and now republished by Alpha Editions. Restored for today's and future generations. More than a reprint - a collector's item and a cultural treasure.
The ejected of 1662 in Cumberland and Westmorland, their predecessors and successors (Volume II)
Names recorded, lives recovered. A meticulous roll-call of the ejected of 1662 in Cumberland and Westmorland, assembled with archival rigour and a watchful eye for human detail. A cornerstone for local history. B. Nightingale's Volume II continues the labour of assembling nonconformist biographies, tracing predecessors and successors through historical church records and parish succession notes that make this an indispensable academic research collection for genealogists and historians. Readers of English religious history will find measured, evidence-rich entries that trace puritan ministers in England and the local expression of the presbyterian church in England, while charting the place of church of England dissenters in a region still defined by the upheavals of the Restoration. The volume speaks directly to students of English Civil War studies and to anyone investigating 17th century Cumberland and Westmorland religious history: names, dates and local affiliations are set against the wider currents of Restoration period clergy reorganisation. Nightingale writes with sober clarity rather than polemic; the result is a reference that is as useful to the casual reader seeking human stories as it is to the collector of classic literature or the specialist pursuing archival leads. Its historical and literary significance lies in the way a dry register becomes a map of conscience and continuity, illuminating the record of dissent and the institutional shifts that followed 1662. Beyond its immediate genealogical value, the book is a substantive contribution to studies of clerical careers and parish structures: scholars of theology, social history and local government will find clear evidence of patronage, mobility and reorganisation across northern parishes. Non-specialist readers encounter the human traces left by dissent, while academic readers can use the entries as starting points for further archival work. For collectors of canonical local history, Nightingale's quietly authoritative tone and methodical attention to sources confer enduring scholarly value. Republished by Alpha Editions in a careful modern edition, this volume preserves the spirit of the original while making it effortless to enjoy today - a heritage title prepared for readers and collectors alike.
The history of the Society of Merchant Venturers of the City of Bristol; with some account of the anterior Merchants' Guilds
A vivid ledger of power, profit and public duty in Bristol's mercantile past. History waits in these pages. John Latimer's careful history of the Society of Merchant Venturers of the City of Bristol traces the Society and the anterior merchants' guilds that underwrote civic life and trade. He follows port records, municipal ordinances and commercial custom to map the rhythms of Bristol maritime trade and the networks that tied local enterprise to the larger currents of English trade history. Steeped in the tone of Victorian era nonfiction and rooted in 19th-century Bristol, Latimer's narrative balances documentary detail with clear exposition, making it an immediate resource for readers curious about British economic history and a measured study of British historical society history. The book's emphasis on charity, regulation and ritual shows how merchant organisations shaped municipal power; it frames local stories within the national transformations that made modern Britain and enriches the discussion of merchant guilds in England. Republished by Alpha Editions in a careful modern edition, this volume preserves the spirit of the original while making it effortless to enjoy today - a heritage title prepared for readers and collectors alike. As a local history collection prize and as an academic reference book, Latimer's study serves both casual readers drawn to the drama of port life and scholars investigating merchant guilds in England and the governance of British civic organizations. It is practical as a history students resource for essays on commerce and municipal power, and also attractive to classic-literature collectors who value well-made editions of Victorian-era nonfiction. Handy for coursework in british economic history and for independent study of bristol maritime trade, the work remains a respected reference for anyone tracing the institutional roots of urban commerce. More broadly, the book stands as a significant piece in the study of 19th century Bristol and the wider story of British economic history - a quietly influential account that connects municipal ritual, maritime commerce and civic charity across generations.
The ejected of 1662 in Cumberland and Westmorland, their predecessors and successors (Volume II)
Ministers forced from their pulpits, names restored to history. A vital record of loss. B. Nightingale's The Ejected of 1662 in Cumberland and Westmorland, their predecessors and successors (Volume II) compiles detailed life-sketches and regional context for those expelled in the puritan ejection 1662 and for the ministers who came before and after them. It reads as a nonconformist ministers biography and as a church history collection, tracing the networks of dissenters in Cumberland and the wider westmorland religious movements that shaped presbyterian church history across northern england churches. Written with archival diligence and humane attention, the work is both narrative and reference: concise biographies, local notes and institutional sketching that bring seventeenth century england into focus. For casual readers the human stories and parish drama are absorbing; for genealogists and historians the entries serve as an academic research resource and a starting point for deeper enquiry into parish lineage, ministerial succession and community response to conformity. Republished by Alpha Editions in a careful modern edition, this volume preserves the spirit of the original while making it effortless to enjoy today - a heritage title prepared for readers and collectors alike. Its historical significance is plain: by recording ministerial careers and local reaction to changing religious settlement it supplies a foundation for the study of english religious history and the long afterlife of the Puritan controversy. Useful to local historians, students of presbyterian church history and anyone tracing family ties, the book belongs on research shelves and in private collections. Elegant enough for classic-literature collectors yet practical for scholarly use, this historical reference anthology rewards both browsing and sustained study and sits comfortably on the shelf of anyone researching northern parishes and the tangled human consequences of seventeenth-century faith. Accessible in tone yet rich in detail, the volume sheds light on patronage, ministry and parish life, offering contextual colour as well as names and dates. A welcome addition to local libraries and private shelves.
The history of the Society of Merchant Venturers of the City of Bristol; with some account of the anterior Merchants' Guilds
Power, profit and civic duty converge in the Society of Merchant Venturers. Bristol's past comes vividly alive. John Latimer's exacting history of the Society of Merchant Venturers of the City of Bristol, with its account of the anterior merchants' guilds, maps the evolution of a powerful civic body and the networks of trade and governance that sustained a major port. Written with the exactness of Victorian-era England's antiquarian scholarship, the book is a landmark of British historical nonfiction: it balances archival rigour with readable narrative, unpacking the mechanics of Bristol maritime trade, the social rituals of British trade guilds and the municipal practices that underpin English civic institutions. As a local history book it offers lively detail and city-scale perspective; as merchant guilds history it supplies context that enriches studies of economic history in England. Casual readers curious about Bristol city history will appreciate the vivid scenes and civic drama; classic-literature collectors and scholars alike will recognise its value as a dependable academic research resource and as a collectors' history edition. Out of print for decades and now republished by Alpha Editions. Restored for today's and future generations. More than a reprint - a collector's item and a cultural treasure. Presented with careful proofreading and a clear reading order, this heritage publication honours Latimer's scholarship while bringing the book directly into conversations about British trade guilds, municipal governance and the economics of port cities. Latimer's methodical approach and his attention to civic records make the volume especially useful to researchers tracing municipal decisions and the economic threads that tied sea-borne commerce to urban life. Libraries, local-history societies and private collectors will find this edition a robust reference and a handsome addition to shelves devoted to Victorian-era England and studies of English civic institutions. Whether you are a collector seeking a noteworthy collectors' history edition, an academic building bibliographic depth, or a curious reader drawn to Bristol's maritime past, this volume rewards close study and casual reading alike.
The diary of the 'Blue Nuns', or, Order of the Immaculate Conception of Our Lady, at Paris, 1658-1810
An intimate witness to monastic life in early modern Paris. True witnesses to convent life. Edited by Joseph Gillow, this volume draws together the long-running diary of the 'Blue Nuns', the Order of the Immaculate Conception of Our Lady at Paris, and preserves entries spanning 1658 to 1810. The pages resist grand narrative and instead record close-grained testimony: devotional reflection, daily routine, communal decisions and the private acts of care that sustained religious women. Readable and specific, the account places personal spirituality beside institutional practice, offering a unique resource for Catholic religious history while also sitting naturally in any convent diaries collection or catalogue of historical nun memoirs. It is quietly revealing about French monastic life and the everyday shape of faith in early modern France, and it speaks directly to readers who favour spiritual biography as well as to those pursuing scholarly research. Far from pious abstraction, the entries convey daily detail with an unsparing modesty: the rhythm of liturgical practice, the practical arrangements of community life, and small acts of charity and care. Microhistory readers will find texture here; scholars of gender and religion can trace how women in religious orders negotiated authority, devotion and domestic responsibility. Republished by Alpha Editions in a careful modern edition, this volume preserves the spirit of the original while making it effortless to enjoy today - a heritage title prepared for readers and collectors alike. More than an archival curiosity, the diary functions as a scholarly research resource: indispensable to historians of the Catholic Church and to students exploring women in religious orders, and useful to anyone assembling Catholic Church history book collections. Collectors of Joseph Gillow works and classic-literature curators will prize its steadiness of voice; spiritual biography readers and casual history enthusiasts will find it unexpectedly readable. Accessible yet authoritative, this edition restores a 17th century Paris convent into view and invites sustained attention from both general readers and serious collectors.

AI Apocalypse
Isabella Hermann observes: "Science fiction (SF) has become a reference point in the discourse on the ethics and risks surrounding artificial intelligence (AI). Thus, AI in SF-science-fictional AI-is considered part of a larger corpus of 'AI narratives' that shape our fears and hopes about the technology."AI Apocalypse explores that corpus through a focused examination of how artificial intelligence has been portrayed in science fiction across literature, film, television, comics, and interactive media.Rather than predicting the future of AI or offering definitive conclusions about its real-world impact, this book presents a selective survey of fictional works in which AI plays a significant role in the plot, themes, or central ideas. Each entry is devoted to a single novel, short story, film, television series, comic book, or video game, providing a concise synopsis and an analysis of how AI is depicted-whether as benevolent, malevolent, neutral, or morally ambiguous. All opinions presented in AI Apocalypse are the author's alone. The book does not claim to predict where real-world AI is heading, nor does it attempt to speak for the fears, hopes, or intentions of creators, artists, or technologists. Instead, it offers a curated look at how science fiction itself has imagined artificial intelligence-often guessing wrong, sometimes guessing uncomfortably close, and always revealing more about human concerns than machine futures.Proudly represented by Crystal Lake Publishing-Where Stories Come Alive!
Cambridge AS and A Level Mathematics 9709
Unlock the hidden architecture of the universe and master the mathematical tools that will define the technological landscape of 2026. This comprehensive guide takes you on a complete journey through the Cambridge AS and A Level Mathematics 9709 syllabus. You will start with the foundations of Pure Mathematics 1, mastering Quadratics and Functions. We break down Coordinate Geometry and Circular Measure into simple concepts. You will visualize Trigonometry and Series like never before. The book guides you through the logic of Differentiation and Integration. Then, you move to Pure Mathematics 2, diving deep into Algebra and Logarithms. We explore the complexities of Numerical Solutions. Finally, Pure Mathematics 3 opens the door to Vectors and Differential Equations. You will even tackle the fascinating world of Complex Numbers. Every topic is covered. Every concept is explained. This is your roadmap to mathematical fluency. What truly sets this book apart is its refusal to treat mathematics as a dead language of static rules. While other textbooks endlessly list formulas to memorize, this guide focuses on "algorithmic intuition" and the "why" behind the math. Written by a data scientist and Cambridge alumnus, it connects abstract calculus to the real-world engines of 2026, such as Machine Learning optimization, LIDAR technology in autonomous vehicles, and the geometry of 3D rendering. It bridges the gap between passing an exam and understanding the code of the physical world. Where others confuse you with dense jargon, this book speaks to you in a human, conversational tone, treating complex topics like "The Snowball Effect" in differential equations or the "Language of Change" in calculus as logical stories rather than rigid tests. It is designed not just to help you solve for 'x', but to help you understand what 'x' actually represents in the modern era. Imagine having a tutor who doesn't just read the syllabus but understands the heartbeat of modern technology. That is the experience packed into these pages. We strip away the intimidation of "imaginary numbers" to reveal the logic of complex roots. We demystify the "chain rule" by showing you it is just a way of peeling an onion. From the geometry of vectors used in drone logistics to the logarithmic scales used in data science, every chapter is infused with relevance. This is not just about getting an A grade; it is about acquiring the analytical toolkit necessary for engineering, economics, and science in the late 2020s. You aren't just learning to calculate; you are learning to think like a mathematician in a digital age. Disclaimer: This book is an independent educational resource produced by Azhar ul Haque Sario.
