There is but one reason for my writing this book; Love. I have been given a gift that I want to share with you; it was given to me freely and it is offered to you likewise. It's about how to have a relationship with the one true God of the Universe. And although I do discuss religions, I am a firm believer that religions are man made, relationship is God made. Before I begin, please let me beg you to put aside any bias, any preconceived idea about me or this book and read it with an open mind, more importantly an open heart. Let me tell you that my agenda in this book is to offer information for you to judge and determine if you believe what I am telling you. One of the most important aspects of our human existence is the power to make choices. We get to choose what we believe and act upon it accordingly. It was my choice to write this book, it is your choice as to what you do with the information it contains. I am asking that you listen to your heart because that is where some of the best decisions are made. There is a considerable amount of information that I can share with you regarding what I know about having a personal relationship with God. And this information is for those who desire to establish a relationship but also for those who already have a relationship and wish to grow closer in that relationship. I am not saying this to sound arrogant, it is simply a result of my lifelong relationship with Him and the multitude of experiences that I have encountered. But I don't want to overwhelm you. The realization that I have come to over the writing and organization of this book is that I should try to synopsize or condense the majority and then expound upon it in later chapters. I do this with the idea that many who are reading this may need just that, something simple at first that hopefully will whet the desire to learn more. And please understand that I am never intending to sound condescending or patronizing so please forgive me if in my zeal to share this information I come across in this fashion. I implore you to continue on in this adventure and agree, disagree, argue, debate, and question what I propose. It is your choice, it is all about the wonderful God given ability to choose. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to present my conviction from which you may choose to agree or disagree.I don't believe in coincidences. I have experienced far too many events in my life that simply cannot be explained away as "chance" or "fate". For instance, I don't believe that you are reading this by accident. I believe that God is reaching out to you, as He continually is, to draw you to Him. This little book is by no means the end all, be all about relationship to God. It is intended to be more or less an introduction by practical means to those who may have been "put off" by religion or anything to do with God because of some idiots who may have been well intentioned but nonetheless gave you the wrong idea of God. So I want you to do this. I want you to get a copy of one of the Gospels in the New Testament of the Bible and read it. You know the ones, Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John, they are all known as the "Gospels" or "Good News" and in fact they are. My favorite is the Gospel of John, but they all tell about the life of Jesus of Nazareth. What I want to do is to give you the tools you need to make the choice to know God and love Him back; it really is as simple as that. And although you will certainly read a lot in this book that is detailed and may seem complicated, if you stick with me to the end you will find out in fact that God's plan has always been about us and Him. Through all of the complicated planning and detailed decision making, the simple message is that He created us because He wanted us, He loves us, and He wants us to choose to love Him back. The simplicity of God fits into one word and that word is the most amazing word mankind will ever know, and yet it is so simple. It is a name... Jesus.
