內容簡介
The Snail Who Wanted to Be Free is a story about a snail who ventures into risky situations for his age and limited knowledge.
He finds out the hard way that if he would follow the rules and obey the laws that are set to protect us against dangers of the world, he would be much better off. Yes, he does survive and learns from his mistakes.
This story is a moralistic example for children to notice the potential dangers they might face when young and inexperienced.
Geny Heywood is a French-born immigrant who left home at the age of twenty-one to make a new life for herself in North America after World War II.
Now at the age of ninety-one, she is a mother of four, grandmother of twelve, and great-grandmother of seven. She has spent her lifetime working mostly with children. As a street teacher from her extensive experience, she feels very strongly that all children are geniuses, assuring anyone she meets that every child is an artist and intellectual just waiting to be discovered.
She strongly encourages parents and grandparents to read to their little ones right from the day they are born. Whatever they teach them will always stay in their brains, for they are more attuned than expected. Use difficult words, and they will understand. If not, they will ask.
The Snail Who Wanted To Be Free is her third published work with Xulon Press and she has written several other children's books.
