21 Fun Songs to Teach French Phonics contains specially written songs, guaranteed to embed both French phonics and key vocabulary and phrases into your French lessons. The free downloads include videos, a multimedia PowerPoint and other resources to make learning French phonics fun.
Each song is based on a different French phoneme, allowing you to provide a specific phonic focus for your lesson. The multisensory approach, linking each phoneme to a gesture, image and the relevant graphemes, makes it easy for children to develop good pronunciation.
The specially written, age-appropriate lyrics are ideal for reinforcing frequently used vocabulary and phrases. Written with the primary MFL curriculum in mind, the songs can be easily integrated into popular topics and units of work. They can be used throughout Key Stages 1 and 2, and many would be appropriate for revision in Key Stage 3.
The videos will get your pupils up on their feet, singing and dancing to the tunes. Watch the videos without the lyrics to focus on developing listening skills or with the lyrics so pupils can practise reading French.
The PowerPoint introduces and reinforces French phonics and is ideal for non-specialist teachers. Use the video and audio files to introduce each phoneme. The sentences and frequently used words are ideal for consolidating learning.
The book contains a wealth of resources making it easy to integrate the songs into the curriculum, including the song lyrics, English translations for side-by-side comparison and differentiated worksheets. The free downloadable flashcards, wall chart and classroom frieze to make it easy to reinforce phonic sounds on a regular basis.
