Ten-year-old Ky and Kozy Harkyn are anything but ordinary. When the twins discover nonhuman faces on mysterious stones, their curiosity leads them on a heart-pounding adventure to uncover the truth about their unique abilities and the otherworldly creatures that inhabit the Whispering Woods.
Accompanied by Grandpa Issac, Ky and Kozy embark on a journey to the Equinox, searching for library documents relating to the local legends, proving the trolls' existence and connection to the faerie stones.
To prepare for the impending battle against the dark fae, Ms. Esperanza and the other coven members mentor the children for the quest of a lifetime. Along the way, they learn of an array of fantastical beings: trolls, bigfoot, mermaids, aliens, shark-toothed goldfish, dragons, hippocampi, zombies, unicorns, phoenixes, and Ky's biggest phobia-werewolves. The twins confront these obstacles head-on, learning not only to conquer their fears but also to reveal their inner strength and unlock the powerful magic within them.
With the fate of Hollows End hanging in the balance, Ky and Kozy find themselves in a race against time to solve the secret of the stones.
