I started to write this book in my thirties and couldn't put it together. I was too much about me in those days, and as I say in the book, I was unable to access my feelings. I had an epiphany moment in an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting when I saw in my imagination a little airplane pulling a banner that said Surrender. I had never surrendered entirely even to God, and this after having been a United Methodist minister for ten years.I was frightened at the prospect of losing myself, and I remembered how I had fought that very thing in my just-failed marriage. If I could just have stopped protecting myself from her needs, then I could have seen the hurt that she carried in her, and I would have been doing love by listening to her instead of pulling away. Instead, when God showed me that surrender to such a path was the way to gaining access to my feelings, and really better access to him, I was too frightened to risk it.This book is about a wondrous truth that God has revealed to me over the decades since those times. He showed me that we are eternal spiritual beings and that we live in the kingdom of God in the here and now. He showed me that the kingdom of God is the true fabric of reality, and the world of darkness that we walk around in is unable to fulfill the spiritual needs that God has instilled in us.We are made to love as he loves us. We are made to show others the grace that he shows us. We are made to forgive and not to hold grudges and judge others.God is being, and we are being made of him. The forever kingdom of God is meant to be manifested in what we call the here and now, through us. The sweet bye-and-bye is just a transition from one part of eternity to another. This part of eternity is meant to be changed by us as Jesus calls for in the Lord's Prayer ("thy will be done on earth as in heaven").We are the spiritual agents meant to change the world. Creations of Wonder
The opening statement of the whole Bible is, "In the beginning, God created," and this creator, God, has the incarnate image of Jesus Christ, of whom is said that "all things were created through Him and for Him" (Col. 1:15-16). This can be seen to be so far removed from much of today's teachings, that of evolution and its propounder, Charles Darwin. The theory of evolution is, in truth, exactly what it says it is-a theory-and which raises many more questions than answers. If we are to believe in God's Word and what he says, then the Creation and the evolution of species are incompatible. It is not the purpose of this book to prove creation, although the writer would have no difficulty in this, but it is simply to highlight some of these creations that are seen as not just the wonders of creation but rather the creations of wonder. Darwin, who studied theology for three years at Cambridge to become a minister of the gospel, never denied the Almighty God. On his deathbed, he requested his visitor, one called Lady Hope, to hold a meeting in his summerhouse and to invite his servants, tenants, and neighbors to come. When she asked, "What shall I speak about?" Darwin replied, "Christ and his salvation. Is not that the best theme?" (Bombay Guardian, March 25, 1916). The word "create" means more than just "make," for we can all do that, but to make something out of nothing, that is real creation. Therefore we could say that anything created is wonderful, and so indeed it is. Yet within the host of creation, there are some, when viewed more closely, particularly stand apart as extra special. This book is about a mere handful of these creations culminating in man himself and the one devastating creation of that man: the cross of death.

Life they say is a battlefield from birth to death. Workplace is where man tries to earn a living and there is a constant struggle for survival there like in any other part of life. As a shepherd in training David battled wild animals to protect his father's flock that he was looking after. When God took him from there to become king of Israel, he had to wage another kind of battle. It was where the priest Ahimelech was doing his legitimate job that David and Doeg visited and that visit led to the cutting short of Elimelech's life alongside that of his family and relatives and their possession in a single day. This is even though he was engaged in God's work or sacred service rather than secular work. Ecclesiastes 10:9 means there is life-threatening risk in all human endeavours anywhere under the sun. Luke 24:19-20 and Acts 10:38-29 say the fact that Jesus spent all His time going about doing good did not stop some from battling Him to death before God raised Him to life after three days. I1 Samuel 7:8-9 and 1 Chronicles 17:7-8 say the journey from humble background to greatness is fraught with enemies (who must be battled and defeated) that require God's intervention to remove the enemies for the journey to be successful. If God had not intervened David would not have completed his victoriously.

All have appeared on the Death Or Prison podcast and have given their remarkable, inspiring testimonies of restoration before the camera. Good portions of their lives have been lived behind bars for crimes they committed in an earlier life. Some of the crimes were heinous. Murder, drugs, armed robberies and desperation were once what their lives were driven by and revolved around. Their stories are in many cases overwhelmingly sad until they get to the point in which they detail how their thinking changed, and redemption happened the moment they invited Jesus Christ into their lives. Surprisingly, many during the interviews confessed that they are grateful for being locked up because as they saw it, incarceration was the only way they would have found salvation. These stories have been taken directly from interviews before a camera and transcribed into this book The stories to be theirs, not mine, all to the glory of God.
