Edith Stein (St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross) was a Jewish philosopher who became a Catholic in 1922 after reading the autobiography of St. Teresa of Avila. When asked why she converted, she wrote, "secretum meum mihi." (Latin for "my secret is mine") She became a Carmelite nun in 1934, but was murdered by the Nazis at Auschwitz in 1942. Dr. Stein's opinions on Catholic women's education were widely reported and discussed in German Catholic circles in the early 1930's. Her list of the virtues a woman ought to embody prompted many requests for elaboration. This volume reprints Dr. Stein's list of feminine virtues, her explanation of how to live these virtues, and essays from My Secret is Mine newsletter on living those virtues today. It must be a personal choice to desire a better state of being not only for oneself; but for everyone, as people, we are all connected; therefore, whatever affects one, affects ALL. Stop and take a look around; the state of being for the majority of people is not as one would like. Other forms of worldly rulers, governments, and organized religions who do not allow one to think for oneself, all have and play their major roles well. Everybody takes chances with human lives every day all day, nonstop, from all aspects of LIFE. This has to stop! This is the value that is placed on LIFE.... ah God.... ah Life.... THINK about this! What would be the difference, whether it's God or Life? God being ALL in ALL and through ALL. People tend to view God in ways that are familiar and if and when God appears different from the times of old and the way people were accustomed to, people tend to dismiss events or experiences as being God; and therefore, miss God on so many levels. Open UP! Can't confine God to be and act the same no matter how you try. He is the thing used to attempt to confine Him. So, stop doing that! God cannot be defined nor confined to any one thing. The one constant about God is, that he is always changing to adapt to the needs of His children.

On His CD, The Hearing God Experience, Mark Virkler suggests that to get acquainted to hearing God's voice, spend quiet time alone with Him each day. Afterward picture yourself in a peaceful setting, such as a garden, and visualize Jesus approaching you. When He gets close, look at Him and ask, What's on Your heart for Me today, Lord"? Then write down what comes to your mind. As I did this exercize, I was so blessed and surprised by the words I was writing. Originally I thought these daily journals were only for my personal edification. Later, God put it on my heart to share the messages with others. These words of comfort and exhortation can be for everyone to enjoy. This book is a compilation of some of my entries. My prayer is that you too will hear from God in your own personal quiet time.
