Islamic Modernities in World Society
How is one "authentically" modern? Substantively drawing on contemporary social theory, this book investigates the multiplicity of answers that Muslims have given to this question since the end of the nineteenth century. Through six historical and thematic case studies the chapters examine the historical evolution of multiple modernities within Islam. The book argues that we can observe the rise and spread of a relatively hegemonic idea according to which the relation to Islamic traditions bestows projects of Muslim modernities with cultural authenticity. At the same time, it provides an interpretation of this specifically Islamic discourse of modernity as an inherent part of global modernity in conceptual terms understood as the emergence of world society.

Transition and Transformation in Hungary
Moving from communist regimes to democratically elected governments in 1990 initiated radical political, economic, and cultural transition in Central and Eastern Europe. Emerging from the shadows of communist rule in Hungary - visible in the widespread presence of corruption, autocratic leadership, and counter-economy - how can personal Christian values bring lasting change to the work, leadership, and business activities of individuals and their organizations?Bridging the gap between secular and sacred in philosophy, theology, and business studies, Krisztina Ol獺h seeks to define how the integrated life of those Christians in business can be the solution to widespread corruption. With academic rigor and interdisciplinary scope, Ol獺h's qualitative interviews and survey data present empirical insight from experienced Christian business leaders as well as authentic perspectives on ethical leadership to lay out practical tools in overcoming the challenges they face. This exploration of post-communist transformation in the Hungarian context will have relevance to any scholar, practitioner, or Christian business leader who longs to see the practice of biblical values reshape their environment.

The Origins of Consciousness Volume 2
Origins of Consciousness Volume One and Two include the complete English translation of the Hebrew Volumes One and Two of Rav Ashlag's study of the Ten Luminous Emanations, as well as commentary and explanation by Rav Michael Berg. For over two decades, Rav Michael Berg has explained in depth this study that represents, the most powerful Kabbalistic teachings, on the Origins of Creation and our physical world and the purpose of life.Volume Two develops the concepts found in Volume One in greater depth and continues to discuss the chronology of the next steps in Creation. It discusses the stages that formed the Creation of the Worlds, making a distinction between two types of Vessels: the Circular Vessel of the Endless World before Tzimtzum (the Contraction); and the Linear Vessel after the Tzimtzum. Contraction essentially means the Light withdrew. And after the Light withdrew, there was an introduction of Light that was channeled through a Straight Line (Kav). Within the Light of the Line there is a structure called the Sefirot of the Line. The Straight Line indicates being on a straight path. Meaning the importance of being precise, of not veering right or left. Justice is the governing force in the system of the Line. This is the realm of Tikkun and it is where we do our spiritual work. What Rav Michael Berg makes clear in his commentary in Volume Two is that it is the Desire to Receive that draws the Light down, and it is the Desire to Share or the resistance of that receiving, that returns the Light back up. It is a drawing down of Light via desire, and a reflection of the Light, a pushing back, through a total effort, a total sharing, only for the sake of the Creator, for the sake of others that creates the Line. This is why the Line represents our entire spiritual work, which is developing a Desire to Receive for the Sake of Sharing. A Vessel can only become full of Light through the process of Receiving for the Sake of Sharing. It is important to note that Volume Two emphasizes the understanding that every Sefirah (Emanation) includes within it all Ten Sefirot, ad infinitum. This interconnectedness teaches us something extremely valuable about our world and our life. Every single one of us is interconnected, and in every single aspect of our life, we have the energy of the Ten Sefirot-in business, in relationships, in our health. When studying the Origins of Consciousness Volume Two, we are not learning abstract ideas but drawing down energy into every single part of our life, and that every single part is included in everything.

Allah Is Light Allah Is Visible
The text underscores the seeker's spiritual journey as both an internal experience and an observable process. Individuals pursuing truth should endeavour to return to their original source of illumination. A range of terms is employed to articulate their experiences: "path" denotes the journey, "worlds" signifies physical, spiritual, and invincibility forms, "stars" of insights, and "darkness" of veiled understanding. As they advance, they recognize the divine within, subsequently beginning to illuminate their true essence, which they describe as a transformation into light upon light.

Lights of Teshuvah
Teshuvah means "return." It is the return to God, the return to health, the return to our soul, the return to happiness, the return to home. Lights of Teshuvah is the quintessential work of Rabbi Abraham Isaac Kook (1865-1935), first Chief Rabbi of the Holy Land, who was a Talmudic genius, a communal leader, a saintly personality, an impassioned visionary, a fighter for social justice, a poet and most of all a mystic. He was also a deeply original thinker, the breadth, inclusive spirit and transcendent ecstasy of whose teachings embrace the entirety of creation. Rabbi Kook was a poet of the soul and a spokesperson for a complete human spirit that embraces contradiction, that reconciles the poles of this-worldly and other-worldly experience. His writings celebrate the union of legalism and poetry, particularism and universalism, faith hidden in atheism and atheism hidden in faith, the spirit revealed from the flesh, and beauty revealed through ugliness. Rabbi Kook sang of universal creativity, of an unceasing fecundity that is the natural song of all being. He championed the poetic and creative spirit within each individual. "Every time our heart beats with a true expression of spirituality," he wrote, "every time a new and exalted thought is born, we hear the likeness of a Godly angel's voice at the doors of our soul asking that we allow him entry so that he may appear to us in the totality of his beauty." Ultimately, Rabbi Kook's robust message is one of life and growth, hope and optimism. "Death is a false phenomenon," he taught, and "to the degree that the quantity of movement toward wholeness grows, evil decreases and goodness is revealed." Orot Hateshuvah was published in 1925, gleaned from Rav Kook's voluminous eight volumes of journals (Shemonah Kevatzim, 1904-1919) by his son, Rav Tzvi Yehudah Kook.
