Method of Giving Ritual Bath to Deceased (Hanafi)

2025/07/28 出版

Method of Giving Ritual Bath to Deceased (Hanafi)In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. All praise is due to Allah Almighty, the Creator of life and death, the One Who has honored humanity and provided clear guidance for all phases of existence - including how to deal with death and honor the deceased. Peace and endless blessings be upon our beloved Master, Prophet Muhammad Mustafa ﷺ, whose noble teachings guide us in every aspect of life and afterlife preparation.Islam is a complete code of life that not only instructs its followers on how to live righteously but also on how to deal with those who pass away with honor, care, and adherence to divine commands. Among the most critical acts after death are Tajheez (preparation of the body) and Takfeen (shrouding), which include giving the Ghusl (ritual bath) to the deceased. According to the Hanafi school of thought, this responsibility is a Fard Kifayah-a communal obligation. If no one performs it, the entire community bears the sin, but if some fulfill it, the rest are absolved. This book, Method of Giving Ritual Bath to Deceased (Hanafi), has been carefully compiled to serve as a practical and spiritual guide. It begins by emphasizing the virtue of sending Salat upon the Holy Prophet ﷺ and recognizing the signs of a blessed death. It then discusses the concept and importance of funeral rites in Islam and outlines the basic legal rulings related to Ghusl and shrouding.A clear, step-by-step description is given for performing Ghusl for both men and women, including proper intentions, essential etiquettes, and recommended Sunnahs. Special attention has been paid to providing guidance on sensitive cases such as children, hermaphrodites, and how to handle the used water. Furthermore, the book highlights the spiritual excellence and reward associated with these acts of service, along with precautions, common mistakes, and Madani pearls (beneficial tips) for those entrusted with these duties. Also included are details regarding the shrouding process, the correct method of wrapping a male or female body, the recommended number and type of cloths, and the significance of providing a dignified farewell in accordance with Islamic tradition. Our intention is that this work serves as both an educational resource and a means of encouraging Muslims to take this obligation seriously and perform it correctly. May Allah accept this humble effort, forgive our shortcomings, and grant us all the ability to fulfill the rights of the deceased in the most honorable and rewarding way, according to the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ.Ameen Ya Rabbal 'Alameen.- Team Dawat-e-Islami For the Propagation of the Sunnah

The Seed of Abraham

2025/07/28 出版

The inspiration for this volume emerged from years of friendship, dialogue, and collaboration between a Jewish rabbi and Christian professor. Historically, Jewish-Christian relations has been a fraught sphere of inquiry. Despite sharing a set of Scriptures, the relationship between Christians and Jews has been marked by distrust, misunderstandings, and exaggerated theological differences, which taken together appear to create an indissoluble wedge between the two faiths. This volume brings the two faiths into fruitful and productive dialogue by unearthing recondite, yet highly significant features shared between them. Beyond being an academic exercise, the aspiration undergirding this project is to bridge the gap between Jews and Christians, and by doing so, chart a path forward toward rapprochement, reconciliation, and Jewish-Christian unity.

Dharma

Jijoy,Mathew  著
Palgrave M 出版
2025/07/28 出版

This book responds to a critical gap in contemporary scholarship by revisiting dharma beyond the constraints of colonial and Indian nationalist reinterpretations. The book offers a postcolonial, intercultural, and "glocal" re-reading of dharma, emphasizing its multifaceted nature as it intersects with both global and local realities. By challenging the conflation of dharma with the Western category of "religion," it reintroduces dharma as a concept that transcends religious boundaries, deeply relevant not only within Hinduism but also across various cultural and spiritual practices worldwide. Going beyond global interest in Indian traditions like yoga, ayurveda, and mindfulness-- each drawing on the ethical and spiritual dimensions of dharma--this book provides a nuanced framework for understanding dharma in the contemporary world. It invites readers to reconsider the traditional and modern implications of dharma, recovering its richness as a guiding principle for personal, social, and global well-being. This book is an essential resource for scholars and students in religious studies, postcolonial studies, South Asian philosophy, and anyone interested in a deeper understanding of the transformative nature of dharma in a globalized world.

Disasters of Biblical Proportions

Princeton 出版
2025/07/27 出版

How people have reimagined the story of the ten plagues of Egypt, from antiquity to our own era of relentless catastrophe People have been telling and retelling stories about disasters for as long as they have been telling stories. One of the oldest of such stories is the ten plagues in the book of Exodus, the series of disasters that forced the Egyptians to liberate the Israelites. These plagues packed enough catastrophe to fill a series of summer blockbusters--rivers of blood, invasions of frogs and insects, mass disease, fiery hail, smothering darkness, and a midnight massacre of the firstborn. The story of the ten plagues resonates today, as we try to make sense of such calamities of modern life as pandemics, climate change, and war. In Disasters of Biblical Proportions, Steven Weitzman explores how people of later ages--artists, writers, activists, philosophers, believers and unbelievers alike--have reshaped the story of the ten plagues to give expression to their own trauma, outrage, guilt, humor, and hope. Tracing the interpretation and retelling of each plague across time and space, Weitzman uncovers how this ancient tale found new meaning among Jews, Christians, and Muslims and continues to shape how people today understand the present and envision the future. Even as it recounts the history of how the ten plagues have been reimagined, Disasters of Biblical Proportions is also a history of people's search for shelter from the calamities of their own times--and of humanity's striving for justice, freedom, and redemption.
