Great Ghost Stories
Joseph Lewis French (1858-1936) was a novelist, editor, poet and newspaper man. The New York Times noted in 1925 that he may be "the most industrious anthologist of his time." He is known for his popular themed collections, and published over twenty-five books between 1918 and his death in 1936. He founded two magazines, The New West (c. 1887) and The Wave (c. 1890). Afterwards he worked for newspapers "across the country" contributing poetry and articles. He struggled financially, and in 1927 the New York Graphic, a daily tabloid, published an autobiographical article they convinced him to write, entitled "I'm Starving - Yet I'm in Who's Who as the Author of 27 Famous Books." Spooky Stories from the Swamp
Florida's famous swamps--from the Everglades to Mosquito Lagoon to Tate's Hell--serve as fitting backdrops for these chilling original stories. Maybe it's because they are often wet, shadowy places of wild beauty where few people dare to penetrate. They are havens for snakes, alligators, black bears, wildcats, and who knows what. People on the run have often hidden in swamps, while others have gotten lost in the watery expanses; the swamp can be a refuge or a nightmare. Mysterious things just happen in swamps. The Turn of the Screw
Do you want to read The Turn of The Screw? If so then keep reading...Widely recognized as one of literature's most gripping ghost stories, this classic tale of moral degradation concerns the sinister transformation of two innocent children into flagrant liars and hypocrites. The story begins when a governess arrives at an English country estate to look after Miles, aged ten, and Flora, eight. At first, everything appears normal but then events gradually begin to weave a spell of psychological terror. One night a ghost appears before the governess. It is the dead lover of Miss Jessel, the former governess. Later, the ghost of Miss Jessel herself appears before the governess and the little girl. Moreover, both the governess and the housekeeper suspect that the two spirits have appeared to the boy in private. The children, however, adamantly refuse to acknowledge the presence of the two spirits, in spite of indications that there is some sort of evil communication going on between the children and the ghosts.Without resorting to clattering chains, demonic noises, and other melodramatic techniques, this elegantly told tale succeeds in creating an atmosphere of tingling suspense and unspoken horror matched by few other books in the genre. Known for his probing psychological novels dealing with the upper classes, James in this story tried his hand at the occult - and created a masterpiece of the supernatural that has frightened and delighted readers for nearly a century. What are you waiting for The Turn of The Screw is one click away, select the "Buy Now" button in the top right corner NOW!

Mona Lisa Moon Goddess
Rob and Hannah Wilson (twins, 30) return home to Oregon from Europe for their father's funeral. Dan Wilson, 70, rests in a green cemetery of twittering birds and sun-dappled shade, beside his second wife (or was she?) Nancy, who died in 2018 after 30 happy years together.Unnoticed among two dozen mourners stands a beautiful, stylish angel named Claire from a parallel reality, wearing designer sunglasses and a Parisian outfit. Claire is the ghost of the twins' baby sister Klara, who died as an infant in 1979 while Dan Wilson served as a young U. S. Army soldier in Heidelberg, West Germany. Claire is invisible, but has a faint glow behind her, untouched by raindrops. Moving unseen through this world, Claire plants Dan's journals and drops clues to send Rob and Hannah on a mission: tying together loose ends, family secrets, and lost souls.Claire's other gift to our world is to reveal the pagan goddess behind Leonardo da Vinci's famous painting, Mona Lisa (which would have seen Leonardo burned at the stake by the Inquisition, had the truth come out).Dan and Nancy Wilson's twin children carry this story to its amazing resolution. Hannah works for a Paris insurance firm, while dating young music producer Yves Cartier. Rob is a doctoral student at Frankfurt's Goethe University, dating Elise Gillen of Luxembourg.Back in 1978, young Dan Wilson made a tragic decision on a bridge in Paris (Pont des Arts, by the Louvre), to abandon the true love of his life (Paris student Claudette Vervain). Dan returned to his duty station in Heidelberg, where he married a Croatian-German girl named Stana Chetko based on Stana's lies that she was pregnant by Dan.Their daughter Klara (Claire) was conceived soon after. In a dark, forbidding mountain village near Heidelberg, Dan Wilson's emotional nightmare included a loveless marriage; infant Klara's death from a heart defect caused by Stana's drinking, depression, and not wanting a child; sociopathic bullying by Stana's father (an escaped Croatian Nazi war criminal who raped Stana as a child); and Dan's unsympathetic, ignorant, at times cruel U.S. Army superiors. After his Army years, Dan returned to Oregon. He started a wonderful new life, marrying Nancy, and having the twins Rob and Hannah. But dark shadows of our past lie long upon the afternoon of a person's life.In 1970s Paris, Claudette's doctoral thesis revealed stunning info on Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa in the Louvre, credited to notebooks of Dr. Benjamin Wandrous, a Jewish scholar murdered by the Nazis in occupied 1940s France. After Dan left her, heart-broken Claudette dated a young alcoholic, with whom she died in a car crash in 1979. Her revelations were lost.Rob and Hannah journey to Paris, to learn the truth about their father's life, and why Leonardo da Vinci obsessed over his unpaid portrait of that soulful woman of 1500s Florence, Lisa Gherardini. In the Shakespeare & Company bookstore on the Left Bank, Hannah brushes by her lost sister's ghost under a famous sign: "Be not unkind to strangers, lest they turn out to be angels."Fate does work with angels to fix unbearable situations. On the windy, weepy, rainy 1979 night as Klara died in the German medical center at Heidelberg, a miracle came to the remote village. Broken-hearted Dan slept exhaustedly, but woke in darkness knowing it was the moment of her death. A calm, self-assured adult woman's voice spoke in his head; his baby daughter, as a mature woman (somehow, somewhere in time...).Klara (Claire)'s voice said not to worry; all will be fine. Dan Wilson heard her in his head, did not understand her message, and grieved for his baby's death all of his life. Klara promised that, on a future day, at the moment of his death, her daddy would receive a wonderful gift: a new life, back on that bridge at that moment in 1978. Now that promise is set in motion at Dan's funeral in Oregon...

Paradise Is the Name of a Nearby Planet
Inside the house, a young man and woman were belly up on the floor. Brian took a closer look.- "Are they dead?""Yes . . ." said the man sadly. An infant who was crawling on all fours with difficulty was left alone beside the mother's corpse and cried. Brian wiped his tears.- "That's enough . . . enough. I can't stand it . . ."ـ "In your opinion, if you were here now, how would Pardis look like? . . . Izad [God] has just put you to test, you children of Adam, . . . to regulate the good and the bad . . . The answer to your question is yourself, Brian, son of Adam . . . You don't even know what tragedies are happening around you? Governments, powers, and religions are at odds with each other, and it is the people who are sacrificed in this conflict. Why should Izad need these kinds of religions? Islam, Judaism, and Christianity? Behind all these lies the interests of the powers. The world's largest religion is a religion of friendship and love. What do you think was the guilt of these women, these children and these men who were defending their home? You don't even have mercy on each other, while you are of the same skin, flesh and blood . . . How do you expect the Pardis people to have mercy on your father, of course, they have done it . . . and now Brian, what do you want from Izad?"The story is about a wealthy man named Brian, who has lived his entire life seeking escapade, and on his last voyage into space, he finds a planet amid the galaxy. Upon arrival, he finds that it is the same Paradise that different religions have promised we will go to after death. After landing on the planet, the story's hero know-hows the most critical challenges of his life, and the most imperative of them is love, the constant comparison of the people there with the earthlings, and the encounter with the Creator. The purpose of this story is to remind the people of the earth of equality and fraternity of all races, colors, and religions, and to point out that we are all children of an expelled couple. From the moment of birth, we use our every breath to build another paradise on earth, but gradually, blind prejudices and ambitions of some people push this new paradise toward darkness. Another feature of the book is the mien of a love unrestricted of time and space that affects the hero of the story and makes another human being out of him. Eventually, the story reaches its climax with meeting the Creator, where wishes and desires seem meaningless and the only tranquility comes from joining the eternal spirit.

Ghost Hunters Anthology 10
"JOHN, I JUST MET A ghost who's dying."I raised one eyebrow, waiting for the punchline from my favorite time-bender."No, it's not what you think. I haven't gone off the deep end. The government made him into something they call a ghost.""Figure if the government's involved, then it's going to be screwed up... But a ghost - dying?""Running out of juice, actually. Kept alive on some sort of weird life support that he won't fix to save himself.""Suicidal?""No, he says there's another in worse shape than him. A girl detective - of sorts.""And you got this from one meeting?""No, he appears once a year for about 5 minutes - so I tracked him back. And I've been talking to him for decades now.""5 minutes at a time?"Carol nodded, and bowed her head.I raised it with a gentle touch to her chin. And saw a tear roll down her cheek."Please, John. Help me help him - and her."Anthology containing: - The Case of the Time Bent Beau by S. H. Marpel- The Case of the Walkaway Diner Redoux by J. R. Kruze, S. H. Marpel- Walkaway Redemption by S. H. Marpel- Felicity by S. H. MarpelExcerpt: I didn't often see Carol like this. In fact, never. Her eyes were hollow, her skin pasty, and she looked like she had slept in those clothes more than once. Not her ordinary tidy, perky self.Unlike some other of my guests, Carol always knocked politely. So softly, sometimes she had to knock twice to get my attention. This time, I rose at her first knock. Because there was some insistence in it this time. That's when I got a good look at her."Carol..."Her red-rimmed eyes met mine and I held out my arms. She melted into them for a long hug between friends. And I waited for her to speak. But when she didn't, "I've got some coffee I can warm up, and there's some of Hami's cookies left."Carol only looked up at me and nodded, then released me so she could drop onto the couch-bunk. I returned with the cookies after I'd poured this morning's coffee into a pan on the hotplate and set the coffeemaker to run another batch. A second look at her face persuaded me that this might be a long story she wanted to tell...Scroll Up and Get Your Copy Now.
