Rockets are very general. Anything that squirts or blasts some exhaust out the back is a rocket, typically with its own fuel and oxidizer. 1.Water bottles can easily be made into high air pressure air or water rockets. A kit will give you corks that pop out when the pressure gets high enough. To get controlled higher air pressure, you need to build a PVC pipe launch tube, with tire pump nozzles, and corks. 2.Toy chemical rockets are faster and there are many kits, which come with the launch pad, and the parachute is also supplied. 3.Huge space chemical rockets are remarkably similar to toy chemical rockets, except liquid fuels are used like very cold hydrogen. Solid fuel is also sometimes used as a first stage booster, when just want large thrust and do not need to throttle. Commercial, not NASA, rockets are supplying the International Space Station and launching many satellites. The ceiling is painted black to hide it as much as possible. There are three lighting systems for the layout. There are fluorescent lights for general lighting and work, track lighting for dramatic evening and nighttime lighting and a third system of track lights focused on the walls for the sky lighting effects. I built this layout to entertain me, my grandchildren, and my friends. I hope you enjoy this layout tour!The photos in this book are very unique. Each photo is a composite of 30 to 100 individual images, all focus-stacked in digital layers and composited together. The result is that every image is stunningly sharp, bright and clear with amazing depth of field!All the photos were taken with a Nikon D5200 camera set at f12 at an ISO setting of 100. Tower City Trains
The construction of the train layout in this book started in 2008 and was completed in 2015. I built this layout to entertain me, my grandchildren, and my friends. I hope you enjoy this layout tour!All the photos in this book were taken with a Nikon D5200 camera set at f12 at an ISO setting of 100. The images were "focus stacked" using the Zerene Stacker program from Zerene Systems. Each photo is a composite of 30 to 100 individual images, all focus-stacked in digital layers and composited together. "Focus Stacking" is a technique which allows a photographer to "stack" digital images, each with a different focus point. When combined in a multi-image stack, the result is an image with tremendous depth of field. Focus stacking was used to produce almost all the photos in this book. Unlike most photos of small models, these photos have fantastic depth of field and everything is in focus. It makes the images look almost real!
