Production Of Californian Red Earthworms
Vermiculture consists of the intensive cultivation of the red earthworm (Eisenia foetida) which, by consuming organic waste, transforms it into humus, which is the highest state of decomposition of organic matter, making it an excellent fertiliser for agricultural crops. In response and in order to increase the resilience of agroecosystems to soil unproductivity, lombrihumus is used as an efficient, environmentally sustainable and low investment cost alternative that improves the physical, chemical and biological properties of the soil, improving its fertility and increasing the nutrient content for the plant, allowing the recovery of soils eroded by the indiscriminate use of chemical fertilisers. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of three diets based on organic residues, bovine manure and plantain rachis for the production of Eisenia foetida and to determine the reproductive behaviour, number of oothecae, production of lombrihumus and leachate and their nutrient concentration levels in the different treatments.

Cover Crops and Sustainable Agriculture
This book will not serve as the "encyclopedia of cover crop management," but it's close. The benefits of a wide range of individual cover crops and blends/mixes for specific agronomic crop rotations and geographic locations are included. The tomato thrips, is among the main pests of the tomato crop, causing serious economic losses. The damages are due to thrips feeding, causing lesions and transmitting the tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV), known as "tomato spotted head turner", causing a high cost in the control and developing resistance to insecticides, due to the need of sequential spraying. The present work aimed to evaluate the influence of ultraviolet rays reflected from different types of mulching materials used in tomato crops on thrips under field conditions.

Efficacy of Several Insecticides Against Cotton Pink Bollworm
With the recent increase in cotton pink bollworm infestation and the banning of several common insecticides by the Indian government, including some commonly used for managing pink bollworm, which is a major threat to cotton crops in India. In response, a study was conducted to find suitable alternatives that are comparable or more effective than the soon-to-be-banned insecticides. The study evaluated nine insecticides for their ovicidal properties against pink bollworm, using laboratory and field experiments. The results showed that Profenofos 50 EC was the most effective insecticide in reducing the hatching percentage of fresh eggs, and cypermethrin 50 EC was the most effective against three-day-old eggs. Spinodad 45 SC, Emamectin benzoate 5 SG, and Cypermethrin 25 EC were the most effective insecticides in reducing boll infestation and locule damage in field conditions after the first spray. Emamectin benzoate 5 SG and spinosad 45 SC were also the most effective in terms of mortality after the first spray. The study concludes that these insecticides could be suitable alternatives for managing pink bollworm in cotton crops.

A multi-stakeholder action plan was then drawn up.
