An Observer's Journey Into the Heart of Universes
This work is based exclusively on the observation of sacred arts: Ngombi or Ngoma (Sacred Harp), Mvet ?kang (Harp Cithare), Masque Punu, Songo (sowing game), Menorah (7-branch candlestick) and Hanoukkia (9-branch candlestick), with the current Calendar as their common point of departure. Mathematical universes are built around the recurring unity of quadrilaterals (square or rectangle) with the trilateral figure (triangle) referring to the pyramid. They are mainly characterized by the conversation of one of the quadrilateral's diagonals into a triangular base, while excluding the second, hence the term concave geometric construction. The inner side of geometric figures is the expression of a dynamism whose evolution is both ascending and descending, under a fractal grip by the action of the arithmetic triplet. Central symmetry, orthogonal symmetry, parallelism, perpendicularity, triangulation, diagonometry and more are just some of the geometric theorems to be found here. Civilizational memories are all revealed as bearing the same geometric framework.
Cultural Tourism in Porto Seguro-Bahia
The aim of this research is to evaluate the discursive aspects of cultural tourism adverts about the Discovery Coast. This scientific analysis research is based on French Discourse Analysis (DA), which examines the materiality of discourses and analyses the discursive corpus of advertisements promoting the Discovery Coast in an area that covers the municipalities of Porto Seguro, Belmonte, Santa Cruz Cabr獺lia, Eun獺polis and Itabela in the far south of Bahia. Communication is important because in order to promote tourism in a locality, it needs to be publicised in order to attract visitors to it, using media such as magazines, folders and the Internet, which is currently one of the world's most widespread means of communication. For a product to be sold, it needs to be publicised and it is through this publicity that the consumer is persuaded to buy what is being sold. In this way, adverts are essential tools in the dissemination and propagation of tourism products and are used as a vehicle capable of building a product's image.
Continuous-Parameter Time Series
This book provides a self-contained account of continuous-parameter time series, starting with second-order models. Integration with respect to orthogonal increment processes, spectral theory and linear prediction are treated in detail. L矇vy-driven models are incorporated, extending coverage to allow for infinite variance, a variety of marginal distributions and sample paths having jumps. The necessary theory of L矇vy processes and integration of deterministic functions with respect to these processes is developed at length. Special emphasis is given to the analysis of continuous-time ARMA processes.

Secure signal transmission
Voice communication is closely linked to everyday life, such as education, e-learning, commerce, politics and the dissemination of information. To maintain security, sensitive data must be protected during transmission. Chaotic systems have become good candidates for cryptography to increase the degree of security. In this book, we focus on the design of a high-security voice communication system using two levels of encryption based on chaotic systems. The first level is chaotic masking, while the second level is scrambling. In the masking level using two methods, the first method is masking using a hybridization between chaotic frameworks (logistic map and tent map), while the second method is based on the Chua chaotic system. At the scrambling level, we use Arnold's map. At receiver level, we use Pecore and Carroll synchronization to recover the encrypted audio signal.

Basic Concepts of Nonlinear Optimization
This textbook is an introduction to nonlinear optimization, which treats mathematical concepts stringently on the one hand, but also motivates them in great detail and illustrates them with 42 figures. Therefore, the book is not only aimed at mathematicians, but also at natural scientists, engineers, and economists who want to understand and apply mathematically sound methods in their field. With just over two hundred pages, the book offers sufficient flexibility to serve as a foundation for various types of lectures on nonlinear optimization. Many geometric approaches for understanding both optimality conditions and numerical methods introduce a new perspective, enriching the existing literature on optimization. This is particularly evident in the detailed treatment of issues arising from different functional descriptions of the same geometry of feasible sets, and the thus motivated introduction of constraint qualifications for deriving derivative-based optimality conditions. This book is the English translation of the second edition of "Grundz羹ge der Nichtlinearen Optimierung" (Springer, 2021) written in German. The translation was done with the help of artificial intelligence. A subsequent revision was performed by the author to further refine the work and to ensure that the translation is appropriate concerning content and scientific correctness. It may, however, read stylistically different from a conventional translation.

Mathmamiya
This is a math-mentoring book without the gory mathematical expressions. The intended purpose of this book is to allay the fear of mathematics that most people have. Math is actually a tame and fun ally in accomplishing a lot of things in life, such as investment, social networking, commerce, technology, engineering, and science. I encourage and spark the interest of young people, especially girls, to embrace Mathematics to their full potential. The inherent mathematical ability may be there, but the confidence and pathway to manifest and leverage the ability may not be known. One way to discover and elicit the underlying ability is through humor and cajoling, which is the purpose of this freeform book.
Didactics of Mathematics
This book is the first part of a 3-part series on the didactics of mathematics. By the way, everyone asks the question: What is didactics in teaching? In the didactic teaching method, the teacher gives instructions to the students, and the students are mostly passive listeners. It's a teacher-centered, content-oriented teaching method. Neither the content nor the teacher's knowledge is questioned.
Numbers and Functions
This unique volume covers two fundamental elements of computational methods -- numbers and functions. It provides an in-depth discussion of the behaviors of numbers, including both real and complex numbers. The discussion leads to the important closure properties of numbers, ensuring solution consistence and existence, and also possible failure in numerical computations in science and engineering. This text then introduces types of functions that take numbers as independent variables and produce a single number. Approaches for constructing inverse functions are also provided. Frequently used basis functions are introduced, with detailed studies on their properties and behaviors. Techniques are presented for constructing basis functions and their use in function approximation in computational methods.

Conformal Maps and Geometry
'I very much enjoyed reading this book ... Each chapter comes with well thought-out exercises, solutions to which are given at the end of the chapter. Conformal Maps and Geometry presents key topics in geometric function theory and the theory of univalent functions, and also prepares the reader to progress to study the SLE. It succeeds admirably on both counts.'MathSciNetGeometric function theory is one of the most interesting parts of complex analysis, an area that has become increasingly relevant as a key feature in the theory of Schramm-Loewner evolution.Though Riemann mapping theorem is frequently explored, there are few texts that discuss general theory of univalent maps, conformal invariants, and Loewner evolution. This textbook provides an accessible foundation of the theory of conformal maps and their connections with geometry. It offers a unique view of the field, as it is one of the first to discuss general theory of univalent maps at a graduate level, while introducing more complex theories of conformal invariants and extremal lengths. Conformal Maps and Geometry is an ideal resource for graduate courses in Complex Analysis or as an analytic prerequisite to study the theory of Schramm-Loewner evolution.

Explorations in Monte Carlo Methods
Monte Carlo Methods are among the most used, and useful, computational tools available today. They provide efficient and practical algorithms to solve a wide range of scientific and engineering problems in dozens of areas many of which are covered in this text. These include simulation, optimization, finance, statistical mechanics, birth and death processes, Bayesian inference, quadrature, gambling systems and more. This text is for students of engineering, science, economics and mathematics who want to learn about Monte Carlo methods but have only a passing acquaintance with probability theory. The probability needed to understand the material is developed within the text itself in a direct manner using Monte Carlo experiments for reinforcement. There is a prerequisite of at least one year of calculus and a semester of matrix algebra. Each new idea is carefully motivated by a realistic problem, thus leading to insights into probability theory via examples and numerical simulations. Programming exercises are integrated throughout the text as the primary vehicle for learning the material. All examples in the text are coded in Python as a representative language; the logic is sufficiently clear so as to be easily translated into any other language. Further, Python scripts for each worked example are freely accessible for each chapter. Along the way, most of the basic theory of probability is developed in order to illuminate the solutions to the questions posed. One of the strongest features of the book is the wealth of completely solved example problems. These provide the reader with a sourcebook to follow towards the solution of their own computational problems. Each chapter ends with a large collection of homework problems illustrating and directing the material. This book is suitable as a textbook for students of engineering, finance, and the sciences as well as mathematics. The problem-oriented approach makes it ideal for an applied course in basic probability as well as for a more specialized course in Monte Carlo Methods. Topics include probability distributions, probability calculations, sampling, counting combinatorial objects, Markov chains, random walks, simulated annealing, genetic algorithms, option pricing, gamblers ruin, statistical mechanics, random number generation, Bayesian Inference, Gibbs Sampling and Monte Carlo integration.

Building a Foundation of Trust
In the modern society of the 21st century, science and technology are becoming increasingly em-bedded in the everyday life of people all around the world. Driggers (2011) stresses the importance of science and technology by pointing to the many times in history that these components have contributed to moving our society forward and how they will keep on doing so. Similarly, Fen-ster & Gopp (2020) emphasize the important role science plays, and will continue to play, for the continued development of our society, something they claim has become even more critical and apparent in 2020 as the Covid-19 pandemic is casting its shadow over the continents of the world. The term science is very broad. Obviously, the scientific community is vast and encompasses many different fields that all play important roles in shaping the world. Even though these fields are inherently different on many levels, they all work according to some basic principles that can be applied to all disciplines and branches of the scientific community. One example of these fundamental principles is openness: At its core, science depends upon openness and the "willing-ness of individual investigators to accept constructive criticism of work that has been conducted", primarily with the purpose to promote the advancement of knowledge (Committee on Science, Engineering, and Public Policy (U.S.). Panel on Scientific Responsibility and the Conduct of Research, 1992, p. 154).

Beyond Michaelis-Menten
The Michaelis-Menten equation (MM) has been a pillar of enzyme kinetics for a century. "Beyond Michaelis-Menten: Modernizing the Equation for Enzyme Kinetics" explores the need to evolve our understanding of enzymes as research unveils their true complexity. Imagine a model that captures just a glimpse of a fascinating reality. While MM provides a valuable framework, it has limitations: - Simplified View: MM assumes a single substrate and a straightforward reaction path. Enzymes can interact with multiple substrates and exhibit intricate behaviors. - Hidden Dynamics: MM focuses on steady-state activity, neglecting the dynamic nature of enzymes within living cells. - Limited Predictive Power: Complexities like cooperativity (synergy between substrates) and allosteric regulation (indirect enzyme control) fall outside MM's scope. These limitations necessitate a more nuanced approach: - Incorporating Complexity: Modern models consider cooperativity, allosteric regulation, and other factors, providing a more accurate picture of enzyme behavior. - Capturing Dynamics: New techniques analyze enzyme activity in real-time, capturing the dynamic fluctuations that occur within cells. - Computational Approaches: Computational modeling allows scientists to simulate complex enzyme systems, leading to a deeper understanding of their functions. The benefits are far-reaching: - Drug Discovery: A more comprehensive understanding of enzyme behavior can lead to the design of more targeted and effective drugs. - Metabolic Engineering: By accurately modeling complex enzyme pathways, we can engineer them for more efficient biofuel production and other applications. - Unveiling Cellular Processes: A deeper understanding of enzyme dynamics offers insights into the intricate workings of living cells. While MM remains a valuable historical landmark, modernizing the equation is crucial for unlocking the full potential of enzyme research. By embracing complexity and dynamics, we can move beyond
Financial mathematics and the learning process
Interest rates, inflation, capitalization, discounts, compound interest, purchasing power, the constant amortization system (SAC), consumption and income are all topics that people come into constant contact with. However, there is some difficulty in understanding the subject and financial calculations. With this in mind, the aim of this paper is to address the process of learning financial mathematics in elementary school, in other words, to show how some financial mathematics topics have been approached in elementary school. To do this, we will analyze the didactic material offered by the Rio de Janeiro state school system. The research will be based on textbooks from the National Textbook Program (PNLD), the oldest of the programs aimed at distributing textbooks to students in the Brazilian public school system, according to the National Education Development Fund (FNDE). In this way, we will help to ensure that students, future citizens, make rational decisions based on an education system that uses appropriate material.
