Linear and quadratic, inverse functions, piecewise and trigonometric functions, to logarithmic functions. The next deals with transformation of functions. The last chapter is about linear systems of equations.

It is not easy to find other books fulfilling this purpose. This book is a suitable textbook for a higher undergraduate course, as well as for a graduate student's self-study. The introduction of set theory and modules would be of particular interest to students who aspire to becoming algebraists.There are three parts to this book. One is to complete the discussion of bases and dimension in linear algebra. In a first course, only the finite dimensional vector spaces are treated, and in most textbooks, it will assume the scalar field is the real number field. In this book, the general case of arbitrary dimension and arbitrary scalar fields is examined. To do so, an introduction to cardinality and Zorn's lemma in set theory is presented in detail. The second part is to complete the proof of canonical forms for linear endomorphisms and matrices. For this, a generalization of vector spaces, and the most fundamental results regarding modules are introduced to readers. This will provide the natural entrance into a full understanding of matrices. Finally, tensor products of vector spaces and modules are briefly discussed.

Coherent Sheaves, Superconnections, and Riemann-Roch-Grothendieck
This monograph addresses two significant related questions in complex geometry: the construction of a Chern character on the Grothendieck group of coherent sheaves of a compact complex manifold with values in its Bott-Chern cohomology, and the proof of a corresponding Riemann-Roch-Grothendieck theorem. One main tool used is the equivalence of categories established by Block between the derived category of bounded complexes with coherent cohomology and the homotopy category of antiholomorphic superconnections. Chern-Weil theoretic techniques are then used to construct forms that represent the Chern character. The main theorem is then established using methods of analysis, by combining local index theory with the hypoelliptic Laplacian.Coherent Sheaves, Superconnections, and Riemann-Roch-Grothendieck is an important contribution to both the geometric and analytic study of complex manifolds and, as such, it will be a valuable resource formany researchers in geometry, analysis, and mathematical physics.

This is a book for the second course in linear algebra whereby students are assumed to be familiar with calculations using real matrices. To facilitate a smooth transition into rigorous proofs, it combines abstract theory with matrix calculations.This book presents numerous examples and proofs of particular cases of important results before the general versions are formulated and proved. The knowledge gained from a particular case, that encapsulates the main idea of a general theorem, can be easily extended to prove another particular case or a general case. For some theorems, there are two or even three proofs provided. In this way, students stand to gain and study important results from different angles and, at the same time, see connections between different results presented in the book.
