How to Calm Down!
How to Calm Down featuring Sparkelina is the fourth book in the award-winning emotional intelligence book series. It is a fun and easy teaching tool that uses Kinderwise(R) characters to demonstrate soothing techniques as well as positive self-talk. By simply following along, children can learn to regulate their anger and anxiety.Self-regulation is a crucial cognitive process that enables humans to act appropriately in situations that might otherwise cause frustration, impatience or anger. This process begins to develop in infancy and is heavily intertwined with social development.KINDERWISE(R) was founded by a mom based in Southern California. She noticed that much of what she taught her child could be described as "The How-To's of Life!'' She wanted to present these subjects in a way that children would remember. With this in mind, she developed an EQ book series and other products featuring SPARKELINA(R) (a young girl), BUSYBEE (a giant bee), and SOPHIE (a pink elephant). This dynamic trio suddenly find themselves having to get along in the world for the first time. The friends learn valuable lessons in this wonderful new place. Experiencing life through the eyes of these characters allows children to learn in a fun and interactive way. This is the central concept of Kinderwise(R).Parents and educators may also use their reading time as a conversation starter and delve into the real-life experiences of their children by using the "Suggested Reading Methods" outlined at the beginning of the book. How to Calm Down featuring Sparkelina can be used just for fun or as a teaching tool in a classroom setting, therapy group, or home.

"I AM YUGI" My Kitty Cat Story
Yugi was my beloved kitty cat for 21 years. She went from a home in the north of Arizona being abused and tortured. I got her from a neighbor and loved her through each and every Adventure. I know that God brought her to me and in the end her life was full of love and kindness. May this be a message for all people to understand the animals are to be loved and cherished. What inspired me to write the book about Yugi was my love for animals. She had come from a world of hurt and being abused. Animals speak through their eyes and their feelings but cannot put those into words like humans can. I loved her everyday and got to enjoy Many Adventures with her. If I can reach just one reader, one person who this book helps or helps them to understand how incredible animals are and how much they need or help.

Remember Juneteenth
Produced by educators, this interactive book goes beyond the standard boundaries of rhyming books. It incorporates education with creativity, allowing any child to release their inner artist while learning about an often overlooked holiday: Juneteenth. Within its pages, children will absorb information through rhymes and verses. While they exercise their minds, they can also test their fine motor skills, adding color to the beautiful illustrations. With its large text and blank opposing pages, children can easily focus on the task before them, lessening the chance of being distracted as they navigate the book. This, in turn, increases reading comprehension and concentration, skills that will benefit children as they continue to grow and learn. Whether in an ESL classroom, homeschool library, or as a supplement to a literacy program, this book will be an excellent resource. The book combines history with creativity, giving children a hands-on learning approach that will last far beyond their first perusal of the book. Alongside each verse, notebook lines and standard-sized lettering encourage children to practice penmanship, whether working on print or cursive handwriting. While this exercise certainly benefits all children, those with ADHD and autism, in particular, will find this book to be a valuable tool. To further promote learning about the history of Juneteenth and the significance, children will receive research prompts and guiding questions that will showcase their critical thinking skills. With this level of interactivity, any child will find something to love in "Remember Juneteenth."

The Prettiest Smile
This book is very near and dear to my heart. I wrote this book for my two babies, and it is about my daughter's cleft lip and palate, told from her big brother, Ezekiel's perspective. Marlie went through a lot in her first year of life, especially the early months. She had her first surgery at 4 months old. There are a lot of other babies that have to go through some of the same things, and some even worse. I want this story to give them hope and let them know that in the end, after everything, it will all be okay. This book is just a little taste of all that Marlie, Ezekiel, and us as parents had to endure leading up to her first surgery. Through it all, our girl has had the biggest and prettiest smile. I pray that this helps someone else on their cleft journey.

Soap and Water
Everyone knows that keeping clean is important, especially in today's world. But how do we make sure that our children understand this importance, too? Look no further than this book, Soap and Water. Author Sharon Robertson offers a fun and creative way for kids to be aware of the germs and bacteria floating all around us and provides a lesson on how to keep their hands clean. Written to the rhythm of the song "Fr癡re Jacques," Soap and Water engages young readers with a playful and educational tune that will teach them the importance of washing their hands. Kids can sing along while following the five easy steps to wash their hands: wet, lather, scrub, rinse, and dry. Get your soap in hand and turn on the faucet to start lathering, making bubbles, and getting those hands nice and shiny! Maintaining healthy habits is essential in staying happy and healthy, but it can be difficult to teach children why they are necessary. The solution to this problem lies within these pages. With this book, parents can ease their worries by reading (or singing!) it to their children so that they may learn the value of scrubbing and rubbing those hands together with soap and water. Then, they can put the rhyme into practice by performing the activity so that it really sticks in their minds. Sharon Robertson is a Michigan resident that has over twenty years of experience working with young children. The idea for Soap and Water came to her when the COVID-19 outbreak took hold of the world. Sharon wanted to create an exciting way for children to say "no" to germs, welcome a healthy lifestyle, and discover a new melody along the way.

Freddy the Unfixer
Freddy must have gotten the wrong message during his tender years when he decided to take his tools for the first time and proceeded to remove screws throughout the room. This story is actually a true occurrence when I was teaching second grade at a local school district. This was the first time he experienced unraveling screws using his phillip's screwdriver. Children at this age are very curious and enjoy exploring new things that just may fall onto their laps. This is exactly what happened to Freddy when he proceeded to use his tools. Sometimes when this happens we need to assess ourselves about what we did that made him do such a thing and then go back and correct it so that it doesn't happen again. In most cases, the correctional phase should always be full of learning and positive.
