The Prettiest Smile
This book is very near and dear to my heart. I wrote this book for my two babies, and it is about my daughter's cleft lip and palate, told from her big brother, Ezekiel's perspective. Marlie went through a lot in her first year of life, especially the early months. She had her first surgery at 4 months old. There are a lot of other babies that have to go through some of the same things, and some even worse. I want this story to give them hope and let them know that in the end, after everything, it will all be okay. This book is just a little taste of all that Marlie, Ezekiel, and us as parents had to endure leading up to her first surgery. Through it all, our girl has had the biggest and prettiest smile. I pray that this helps someone else on their cleft journey.

Grace's story takes readers through the highs and lows of her life, from her time as a college cheerleader to her experiences as a semi-pro and professional cheerleader, where the pressure to conform to society's beauty standards intensified her struggles. But it doesn't end there. Grace's decision to move to the city of Los Angeles becomes a turning point in her life as she embarks on a path of self-discovery and healing. Immersed in the world of on-screen acting, she finds purpose unearthing a new found sense of identity. With raw honesty, Grace shares her triumphs and setbacks. Soap and Water
Everyone knows that keeping clean is important, especially in today's world. But how do we make sure that our children understand this importance, too? Look no further than this book, Soap and Water. Author Sharon Robertson offers a fun and creative way for kids to be aware of the germs and bacteria floating all around us and provides a lesson on how to keep their hands clean. Written to the rhythm of the song "Fr癡re Jacques," Soap and Water engages young readers with a playful and educational tune that will teach them the importance of washing their hands. Kids can sing along while following the five easy steps to wash their hands: wet, lather, scrub, rinse, and dry. Get your soap in hand and turn on the faucet to start lathering, making bubbles, and getting those hands nice and shiny! Maintaining healthy habits is essential in staying happy and healthy, but it can be difficult to teach children why they are necessary. The solution to this problem lies within these pages. With this book, parents can ease their worries by reading (or singing!) it to their children so that they may learn the value of scrubbing and rubbing those hands together with soap and water. Then, they can put the rhyme into practice by performing the activity so that it really sticks in their minds. Sharon Robertson is a Michigan resident that has over twenty years of experience working with young children. The idea for Soap and Water came to her when the COVID-19 outbreak took hold of the world. Sharon wanted to create an exciting way for children to say "no" to germs, welcome a healthy lifestyle, and discover a new melody along the way.

Why Did You Choose Me?
As one who has served adoptive families for a decade, I've had countless parents ask me, "How do I talk to my children about adoption?" Now, after all these years, I finally have a go-to answer: "Read Katie Cruice Smith's Why Did You Choose Me? to them, over and over."Dan Cruver, Co-founder of Together for Adoption, Author of Reclaiming AdoptionMost adoptive and foster children struggle at some point in their life with knowing who they are and where they belong. After searching for adoption storybooks to read to her own adopted children, Katie Cruice Smith decided that there was a need for more books that parents could read to connect with their adopted and fostered children and address these struggles. In Why Did You Choose Me?, Katie Cruice Smith answers that question in a way that young children can understand. Drawing from her own experience as an adoptive mom to three children, Katie uses the questions her own children have asked to help them see there never really was a choice-she knew right away that they were hers. Why Did You Choose Me? lovingly demonstrates the uniqueness that each child brings to a family, and is a valuable resource for adoptive and foster families to have in their home.EndorsementsWhy Did You Choose Me? explores a familiar adoption theme, but is pleasantly unpredictable. The illustrations are sure to put a smile on your child's face, and your own. Though the book is written in rhyme, the verse is not sing-songy and the book has just enough sophistication to be enjoyed by everyone.Dr. Daniel Nehrbass, President of Nightlight Christian AdoptionsWhy Did You Choose Me? is a perfectly simple way to make any adopted child feel like they are exactly where they need to be! When our daughter asks why we chose her to be a part of our family, even though she looks different than us, this book will be invaluable to communicate our love for her.Shannon Patterson, Adoptive mom and President of Bethany Christian Services Board in Greenville, SCAs a foster parent myself, I believe Why Did You Choose Me? is the perfect emotional journey to answering the very sensitive question all foster/adoptive children want to know and would recommend families add it to their library.Robert Whitney, Thornwell Foster Care RecruiterAs any adoptive parent will tell you, our adopted children do ask many times, "Why did you choose me?" Now my clients who adopt have a fun and colorful resource to touch on and answer this all-important question. Katie Cruice Smith and Sarah Strickling Jones have prepared a learning tool adaptable to a child's early years, which allows an adopted child and her parents to connect on different levels with the topic of adoption. Your child will laugh and smile while learning about adoption, love, and acceptance. I will be buying Why Did You Choose Me? for all my adoptive couples!Raymond W. Godwin, Father of two adopted daughters and adoption lawyer in Greenville, SC, Co-author of The Complete Adoption BookWhy Did You Choose Me? is tender, genuine, and refreshing, and it does this adoptive mom's heart and soul some good. Our daughter, from India, is now asking this very same question proposed in the book. This thoughtfully written and charmingly illustrated book is a great reminder to her of how special and unique she is, and it is a great reminder to her mom (me) of the beautiful gift of adoption. Any family, adopting or not, will be blessed by this sweet story.Kelly Parkison, Adoptive mom and author of He Knows Her Name

Growing Up
During the summer months when my granddaughters were young, they would come to stay awhile with me and my husband. They called our place, 'Grandma and Grandpa Camp.' We baked cookies, made ice cream, went swimming, sang, danced, and generally just had fun. Since both girls liked to draw, I wrote little verses for them to illustrate. It meant that we talked about issues which were ones my kindergarten children had voiced and which I had researched to find teachable answers. My desire as with all of the children I looked after was to help give each the confidence to recognize their uniqueness and develop a thoughtful, kind, loving and happy outlook on life.

Women of the Bible
Retold and illustrated by Ruth Sanderson, Women of the Bible features stories of twenty-three important women from both the Old and New Testaments. Rendered in the style of a tapestry, each woman portrayed made a difference in the fabric of the Bible. Throughout the ages, women have been in charge of spinning, weaving, and sewing. Some of the women in these stories used needle and thread to profess their faith, while others used a more symbolic weaving in their lives. Old Testament stories include Eve, Rebekah, Ruth, the Queen of Sheba, and others. The New Testament stories include Mary of Nazareth, Elizabeth, Anna, Mary and Martha, and Mary Magdalene, among others. The stories of these wives, mothers, daughters, warriors, and prophets still hold meaning and inspiration in our lives today. Note: This book was first published by Little, Brown and Co. in 1996 under the title Tapestries, Stories of Women in the Bible. The only change in this second edition is the new title and cover.
