The True Story of Jihad in Islamic History
This is book one of a fascinating three three-part series on Islamic History. For too long, the word 'Jihad' has been misunderstood, not only by the West but by Muslims themselves. This book goes back to the very beginning of Islam when the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ successfully transformed and enlightened Arab society and exemplified the true meaning of Jihad - of striving for excellence. Not only in his actions but in character as well.Islamic scholars have identified for main types of Jihad - Jihad of social change, Jihad of education, Jihad of character and finally the Jihad of defence, all of which the Prophet ﷺ excelled at. He not only brought peace and justice to Arabia, but he also gave women their rights, established support for the poor and hungry and guided humanity to have faith in Allah. When the Muslims were forced to defend themselves, we see how the Prophet bravely dealt with the enemy. We look at the strict rules of Islam which forbids harming civilians, livestock or even burning crops. We then ask how young people of today can follow the noble example of the Prophet ﷺ in striving for excellence. The book has been commended by Ahle Sunnah wa Jum'aat (the main body of Islam) scholar, Sheikh Taher as-Siddique, Michigan.Includes 'The Battles of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ' - Three stories written from the perspective of a young soldier in the famous early battles of Islam.
Christian Thought in the Medieval Islamicate World
Christian Thought in the Medieval Islamicate World: ʿAbdīshōʿ of Nisibis and the Apologetic Tradition is the first monograph-length study and intellectual biography of ʿAbdīshōʿ of Nisibis (d. 1318), bishop and polymath of the Church of the East. Focusing on his works of apologetic theology, it examines the intellectual strategies he employs to justify Christianity against Muslim (and to a lesser extent Jewish) criticisms. Better known to scholars of Syriac literature as a poet, jurist, and cataloguer, ʿAbdīshōʿ wrote a considerable number of works in the Arabic language, many of which have only recently come to light. He flourished at a time when Syriac Christian writers were becoming increasingly indebted to Islamic models of intellectual production. Yet many of his writings were composed during mounting religious tensions following the official conversion of the Ilkhanate to Islam in 1295. In the midst of these challenges, ʿAbdīshōʿ negotiates a centuries-long tradition of Syriac and Arabic apologetics to remind his readers of the verity of the Christian faith. His engagement with this tradition reveals how anti-Muslim apologetics had long shaped the articulation of Christian identity in the Middle East since the emergence of Islam. Through a selective process of encyclopaedism and systematisation, ʿAbdīshōʿ navigates a vast corpus of Syriac and Arabic apologetics to create a synthesis and theological canon that remains authoritative to this day.
Toddlers' Devotional Made Simple
As a young grandmother I love to sing and pray with my granddaughters every night before they go to bed. We read stories from scriptures and other books and pray together. Many of the scriptures that were read have been captured in this devotional. They inspired me to put this devotional together. Children must be encouraged to read and listen to good stories right from birth. They also need to be encouraged to pray by themselves, thus instilling in them the need and power of prayer.Prayer helps children to discover the ultimate source of all help and strength as they grow.I trust that all who come into contact with this devotional will find it beneficial and a helpful teaching resource that can help children connect to the divine.

There were many factors impacting the ability to process the death of a loved one during the pandemic. The Story of Young David
Key of David Bible Stories is a children's Bible series changing the way we view Biblical figures and stories. The Story of Young David, the first book in this series, recounts David's rise to prominence. The story begins when King Saul disobeyed God and erected a monument in his own honor, and concludes with David becoming the Champion of Israel after defeating the mighty Goliath in battle. David wasn't the biggest, the strongest, or even the most esteemed amongst his own brothers; however, God had a greater vision and purpose for David than anyone could have imagined. This is a child-friendly, contemporary version of the popular Bible story that was brought to life with beautiful illustrations, vivid colors and dynamic storytelling to capture the attention of children and adults of all ages.
Hugh And The Manatee
This is a children's book with a difference! We are thrilled to share the first book in this series. Our hope is that its message will touch the hearts of our adult LGBTQ friends who never had the chance to read about a child that looked or felt like they did. For our younger readers, we want to offer a broader perspective, a new dialogue and a better understanding of what the real world, and ALL of its people, actually looks like. Throughout this series, we will strive to support our young readers as they grow into caring, compassionate and loving individuals, who put kindness and inclusion above all. This is our contribution to the change we want to be and see in the world. On a beautiful Spring day in May of 2019, I was with my family at DeLeon Springs in Volusia County, Florida, celebrating my mother's ninetieth birthday. The Sugar Mill restaurant has been a favorite spot of mine since I was a child. It sits on the edge of the gorgeous springs where, just a few miles away, I saw my very first manatee when I was three years old. I was in awe of this curious creature and nearly fifty years later, those same magical waters inspired the setting for a book I had been wanting to write for quite some time.My nephew, Max, a graphic artist living in NYC, was also eating 'make your own' pancakes with us that morning, around the griddles situated in the center of the restaurant's tables. As we poured the batter and made shapes and faces that we then garnished with blueberries, strawberries and all sorts of delicious toppings, I told Max that I really wanted to write a series of books for pre-teens that broke through the stereotypical gender identity roles typically found in children's literature. I shared with him that I wanted to create stories in which every child could find themselves. I had a rough idea of how the first story would unfold, but on that day, while eating pancakes and looking out at the magical springs, Hugh and the Manatee was born. I didn't have to say another word. Max fully supported my dream and its mission and agreed to help me bring Hugh to life. Our heartfelt thanks to Book Hub Publishing for their immediate and unwavering support for this project. With Love For ALL, Mary Helen, Max, Hugh and the Manatee
