The Charm of Egypt
Filippo Tommaso Marinetti, born in Alexandria in the Khedivate of Egypt in 1876 to an Italian couple, came of age during the turn of the 20th Century. He witnessed the rapid advancement of industrial society, observed the struggles of Europe's Great Powers as a war reporter, and saw firsthand the cataclysmic events of the Great War while a soldier in the Italian army. Marinetti founded the Italian "Futurist" movement, which emphasized dynamism, speed, technology, youth, and violence, finding inspiration in the automobile, the airplane, and the industrial city, and aimed to liberate Italy from the weight of its past. Futurism's key figures were Marinetti himself, Umberto Boccioni, Carlo Carr?, Fortunato Depero, Gino Severini, Giacomo Balla, and Luigi Russolo. He would also gain some influence outside of Italy, notably with the Englishman Wyndham Lewis, whose "Vorticist" style drew heavily on Futurism. Marinetti found the world of the Great Powers, tied down by their immense histories, to be suffocating and moribund: like an open-air museum. He loved above all else the world of action and fire, machine-guns, cannons, and ironclad vessels. On this shared love of action, he drew close to Mussolini's Fascists, though this relationship was often troubled by Marinetti's criticism of what he perceived to be Fascism's reactionary tendencies.Originally published in 1933 as Il Fascino dell'Egitto, Marinetti's The Charm of Egypt is both a diary and an artistic rendering of his adventures among the Egyptian dunes. Marinetti paints the world as he saw it, through his unique Futurist perspective. His reflections on the land of his birth, and the changes wrought upon it by the forward march of technology, come together in this fascinating homage to that ancient and beautiful land. After nearly a century, Antelope Hill is proud to present The Charm of Egypt for the first time to the English reader. We hope that this beautiful account by one of Europe's most radical thinkers and artists will become a timeless artifact to be studied and enjoyed by many future generations to come.

Ancient Roots of Creation and Afterlife Beliefs
Interdisciplinary and cross-cultural research, aided by linguistics, archaeology, and prehistoric and historic data, provides a view of sacred and secular life in ancient times. In every Near Eastern and Indo-Iranian religion there was a belief in an orderly cosmos and society which could be troubled by an unorderly force. The social and political aspects of a society were organized and maintained by that cosmic order, and interpreted and reinforced by the religious authorities and heads of states. The cosmogonic and eschatological myths are reinforced in a society in the same manner. They justify the process of the creation and also the ensuing historical chronicles as understood by a society. Since the creation and beginning of everything are experienced and not historically documented, they are categorized as mythical. As an example, in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, the doctrine of creation is solely based on the Book of Genesis; consequently, the religious concepts and theories regarding creation and humanity are constructed on the very same creation story. This book explores the religions of the Ancient Near East and their branches to explain their Semitic and Indo-European roots, their reverence for order and fear of chaos, heavenly rewards and unheavenly retributions, judgment and punishment, and their perspectives on death and the afterlife.
Voglio andare sulla luna- I want to go to the moon
I wrote this story thinking of every little girl in the world who has a dream. The moon in the story of my book "I Want to Go to the Moon" represents every dream a person has in their heart. The story is about a little girl, Grace, and her dream of going to the moon. Grace shares this passion of hers with her family and her classmates and builds a spaceship in her backyard. She imagines travelling far away from the Earth. At the end of the story, Grace does not reach the moon, but she does achieve a great dream. This book contains an important message: all children should always believe in themselves. As time goes by, our dreams can change and can evolve. When you are a child, you have big dreams, like going to the moon, but maybe that dream hides other things and passions, like creativity. The immediate dream of going to the moon makes Grace experience new things, and over time those new things become her new dream.

During her career, Ogura has published major works on medieval English syntax, especially verbs. Professor Ogura retired at Chiba, then obtained a major research post at Keio University (2011-2015) and then a post at Tokyo Woman's Christian University, retiring in 2020. She obtained a D.Litt. from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poland in 2008. The international contributors to this volume offer these studies of medieval syntax in her honor, in token of many years of friendship and scholarship.

Administrative Reports
This book is the first comprehensive study of administrative reports. It investigates the reports prepared in the EU and national settings using a multidimensional genre analysis model. The book provides an account of the context of production and use of the reports and a corpus analysis of the macrostructure, lexico-grammatical patterns and multimodal aspects of the reports. Administrative reports are a hybrid and dynamic genre with salient linguistic features and two varieties: a highly institutionalised EU one, and a more varied national one. The reports are a powerful instrument in the communication policy of the institutions, performing informative and image-building functions. The book is an important contribution to the study of administrative language and the Eurolect.

Grammatica Italiana per Bulgari
Kosmogenetisch erz瓣hlen
Jahrhundert positionieren.

The Role of Context in the Production and Reception of Historical News Discourse
This volume examines the determining role of context in the production and reception of news texts from the seventeenth century until the first half of the twentieth century. The context is understood as historical, social, political, professional, textual and material, with chapters focusing on how such a context or contexts influenced the language and reception of the news texts in question. The contributors to the volume are experts in their field of research and have employed a variety of methodological approaches in their analyses of the interrelationship between context and historical news discourse. These include historical pragmatics, historical discourse analysis, critical discourse analysis, appraisal theory, frame theory, and corpus linguistics. The volume is divided into three sections: British News Contexts, International News Contexts, and Advertising Contexts. The first two sections offer a wide-ranging examination of how context has determined the writing and understanding of news in both the British and international domain. The third section in the volume on advertising contexts and discourse is not just justified by the fundamental importance of advertising in the development and history of the press but also by the social and political relevance of the topics examined in the advertisements. These include studies on mental health and asylum advertisements, runaway slaves classified advertisements, and embedded nationalistic content and ideology in Irish newspaper advertisements of the 1930s.
