Salafiyyah Practice in South-West Nigeria, 2000-2020
In South-West Nigeria, Salafiyyah takes a new dimension which calls for investigation in academic milieu. The mode of preaching of the movement has generated different notions. The salafists are being tagged as New Muslim Movement. Two factors led to the emergence of salafiyyah in the southwest. The internal factor was caused by some Muslims, who perceived that the practice of Islam in Nigeria has been adulterated by western ideologies. They advocated that the only mechanism to revive it is to separate the seeds from chaffs. They argued that Muslims must practise Islam as it was done during the prophetic and his immediate companions' eras. Nigerian graduates from Asian nations are the second factor. The methods of reviving Islam are not alien in Nigeria. However, that of the salafiyyah brought missed-perceptions on what is salafiyyah, what is Madkhaliyyah and what are salafis preaching. There are also divisions among the salafis. The activities of the practitioners are tagged as the extremism while the propagators are regarded as modern extremist Muslims. Muslims in Nigeria are divided into Salafis and Muslims. The salafis labelled non-salafis a number of hate names and vice-versa.
Islam & Christianity
Suppose a person is living in an isolated island and he has tasted only bananas in his whole life. Although he has heard about other fruits like mangoes, apples and grapes, he has never tasted them. If he claims that banana is the best fruit on this planet, his claim is not based on any logic or rational because he has never tasted other fruits in this world. Similarly, people follow the religion of their parents, and they consider that their religion is right and superior, and all other religions are wrong and inferior, without having any knowledge about them. The purpose of this book is to create a positive attitude about other religions and their followers. The verses from the Holy Quran and the Holy Bible are put together in a logical sequence so that readers can understand both the religions and also pursue righteousness to achieve the ultimate goal of Eternal life. Most people are wasting their precious time in unproductive and worthless issues. We should concentrate in improving our own spiritual life and try to fulfill various obligations and responsibilities which our own religion demands. Some scholars talk less in the favour of their own religion but talk more against other religions. No person has any right to criticize others' faith. Our words and actions should strengthen love not hatred in the society. If a person is hurting others by his words, then he should understand that his words are not from the Almighty God. May God give us wisdom and power to shed away all types of evil and wickedness in our lives and enable us to pursue holiness, goodness and purity which God demands from every human being.

Devotional Series
Devotional Series: Trusting God by Barbara A. Laws In this journey of life, the one thing we need is faith. "For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith" Romans 12:3. We need this measure of faith to trust God in all circumstances. When we exercise our faith, we learn to trust God fully. Christ answers prayers.
It's All about Love
Because God is a God of LOVE, He gives all His created beings throughout His vast Universe, FREEWILL. Some of the beings He created were called Angels. They too, had FREEWILL and the freedom to CHOOSE whether they would honour and respect their Creator, and follow the laws He put in place to preserve happiness, peace and joy, or whether to CHOOSE their own ways and do whatever they desired. The inevitable result of such a CHOICE would be sin, suffering and death. Over 6.000 years ago, Lucifer, a magnificent angel, leader of the heavenly hosts and master of the angelic choirs, decided he wanted to be like his Creator, and to be equal with God. He convinced a third of the angels to join with him and there was war in heaven! Our omnipotent, (all-powerful), loving Creator could have wiped them all out of existence with just one word, but that would be a demonstration of FORCE. All His creation would have been afraid of Him and be wondering if they made a mistake and did something He didn't like, that they would be wiped out as well. When this 6,000 year demonstration is ended, there will never be a need for a repeat demonstration. Only the scars in the hands and feet and side of Jesus will remind us of the results of sin. If ever anything evil or any evil being arose again, God would be perfectly justified in "nipping it in the bud", and all the Universe would say, "Amen! Hallelujah! Thank you! Thank you, Lord!"
Saint Bernadette Tetralogy
"It is no small task to write the story of a saint as an autobiography, incorporating the saint's own experiences and words. But Dan Paulos has done this well, with unique empathy, wholesome insight and humor. Both children and adults, reading I, Bernadette, will enjoy as I did, the sunny spirit and sturdy, enduring faith of the little saint of Lourdes, so beloved by Our Lord and by His holy mother, Mary."- VIRGINIA BRODERICKArtist. Liturgical Designer"Dan Paulos has given us a refreshing new biography of Saint Bernadette of Lourdes, written from a unique first-person point-of-view. Dan's goal of re-introducing Saint Bernadette to a new generation succeeds, for his down-to-earth narrative tells Bernadette's story in a style simple enough for young readers of middle school age, and engaging enough to hold their attention. Older children and adults also will keep turning the pages, for Dan paints an inspiring portrait of this beloved saint and her miraculous encounter with the Blessed Mother."- ANN CAREYAuthor, Sisters in Crisis"From the first words of the Introduction to the last page of this book we have in I, Bernadette, a most interesting and charming story of the saint... an original concept of the saint telling her own story in her own words. It is an inspirational book that I highly recommend. We have here another treasure from the multi-talented Dan Paulos, one of St. Bernadette's most ardent devotees."JOAN CARROLL CRUZAuthor. The Incorruptibles"Empathy is a big word, but it says well what Dan Paulos is attempting in his very special biography of Saint Bernadette. Putting oneself in somebody's place, getting under his/her skin, resonating with somebody's feelings, sharing in a person's suffering and joy: all of these are empathy. In our case, we should add "holy empathy." Dan's rendering of Bernadette's portrait is not only highly intuitive, but also deeply moving. It brings to life "holiness" at its best: as divine gift graciously given, graciously received, and generously shared."REV. JOHANN G. ROTEN, S.M.Director, International Marian Research Institute
Formulating a Minimalist Morality for a New Planetary Order
The Westphalian model of international relations has given us a zero-sum game of winners and losers that has proven to be ineffective in addressing the pressing issues of our times. Philosopher Zhao Tingyang has argued that by conceptualizing international relations from the planetary perspective of tianxia, we can develop a sense of "worldness" that at once acknowledges the plurality of moral ideals defining of the world's cultures and seeks practical ways to formulate a shared morality for the solidarity needed to bring the world's people together. In this spirit, political theorist Michael Walzer, in his Thick and Thin: Moral Argument at Home and Abroad, wants "to endorse the politics of difference and, at the same time, to describe and defend a certain sort of universalism." For Walzer "thin" morality does not mean minor or emotionally shallow morality; on the contrary, thin and intensity come together as "morality close to the bone." Turning to alternative philosophies, the contributors to this volume seek to move beyond liberal thinking on a minimalist ethic to include other cultural values--those of the Confucian, Buddhist, Indian, Islamic, Ubuntu, Japanese, European, and Jewish traditions. In order to reconceive of the world as a world, these scholars seek to formulate an answer to the contemporary challenge of a fragmented and failing Westphalian "internationality," and in so doing, to offer possible conceptions of a shared and practicable morality sorely needed at a planetary scale.
The March and Music of Military in the Bible
Why does the march and music of military in the Bible matter today? If you are in the military, how does your service connect to the Bible and the Bible connect to your story? If you are a civilian, what can you learn from the military and why are Christians called to be soldiers of Christ? Military people are woven throughout a third of the books of the Bible-they matter! And Christians are not given the option of being spiritual pacifists. A look at military in the Bible can benefit all of us.

The religious beliefs that navigate literature
The student-reader is often oblivious to the teaching of literature in the school environment, only playing a passive role during the study. By placing them as the protagonists of the reading action, it is possible to expose their entire understanding of the world and their experiences in relation to individual religious beliefs, which are left out of the context and debates. This research aims to place this student as the protagonist of his reading actions in order to verify the presence of these beliefs. The teacher, as a mediator in this process, can make it possible and give a voice to all the beliefs that are excluded but present in the works. Religion and beliefs have been part of literary works since forever, but they have never been treated as important in the school environment. Hence the importance of a wide-ranging debate, so that the subject can be part of debates and literary teaching.
The World Religions
Suppose, a person is living in an isolated island and he has tasted only bananas in his whole life. Although he has heard about other fruits like mangoes, apples and grapes but never tasted them. If he claims that banana is the best fruit on this planet, yes, he can claim but his claim is not based on any logic or rational because he has never tasted other fruits in this world. In the same way, well is the whole world for a frog living in it. Similarly, people follow the religion of their parent and they consider that their religion is right and superior and all other religions are wrong and inferior, without having any knowledge about them. The purpose of this book is to create positive attitude about other religions and their followers. The verses and sayings of scholars from Baha'i, Buddhism, Cao Dai, Christianity, Confucianism, Hinduism, Islam, Jainism, Judaism, Mormon, Native American, Neo Paganism, Rastafarianism, Sikhism, Shinto, Spiritism, Tenrikyo, Taoism, Unitarianism and Zoroastrianism are put together in a logical sequence so that readers can understand all the religions and also pursue righteousness to achieve the ultimate goal of eternal life. Mostly, people waste their precious time on useless and unproductive issues. King of a Hidden Kingdom
King of a Hidden Kingdom by Tom Graneau is a gripping tale of cosmic rebellion, spiritual warfare, and the eternal struggle between good and evil. The story centers on Lucifer, the once-glorious archangel who, in his pride and ambition, attempted to overthrow God and seize the throne of heaven. After his failed rebellion, Lucifer and his followers are cast out of heaven, plummeting to the depths of hell in a dramatic fall, symbolizing their eternal punishment. However, Lucifer, now the embodiment of evil, refuses to accept his fate. As the second most powerful being in the universe, he seeks a way to defy his final judgment and escape the lake of fire that awaits him. Surrounded by the haunting cries of his fallen companions, Lucifer's hatred and desire for revenge grow ever stronger.Determined to corrupt God's most cherished creation, humanity, Lucifer devises a cunning plan to lead human souls astray. He targets humanity, intending to sow sin and rebellion within them, hoping to drag them down to hell with him. Lucifer's plan is not just an act of vengeance against God but a desperate attempt to change the course of his eternal fate. The narrative explores the spiritual battle that ensues as Lucifer unleashes his forces upon the world. Humanity, caught in the crossfire, faces temptations and challenges that test their faith, morality, and resilience. As the originator of sin, Lucifer's influence is pervasive, and the story delves into the struggles of individuals and societies against the dark forces seeking to corrupt them."King of a Hidden Kingdom" is a thought-provoking exploration of the nature of sin, redemption, and the human soul's capacity for both darkness and light. Will Lucifer succeed in his quest to lead humanity into the same abyss that ensnared him? Or will humanity learn from his fall and resist his treacherous attacks, finding salvation and redemption in the face of overwhelming evil?
Mormonism
This Element will focus on the various denominations in the Mormon tradition, collectively sometimes referred to as 'Mormonism.' They include the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as well as the several sects of Mormon fundamentalism and multiple other denominations. Often described as the quintessential new religious movement, Mormonism is useful for studying the dynamics of new religious formation, evolution, schism, and adaptation to American culture more broadly. It emerged in the heat of the Second Great Awakening, the flourishing of religious creativity and innovation that followed American disestablishment, inspired by the visionary ideas of Joseph Smith, Jr., a New York farmer who adopted a particular style of restorationism, a form of Christianity popular in the period. Since that time, the various branches of Mormonism have embraced different relationships with the broader stream of American culture. Some have sought integration with America's Protestant majority; others have emphasized sectarian distinctiveness.
The Trinity
The doctrine of the Trinity, proclaimed by Christians through the Nicene-Constantinople creed, is foundational to traditional Christian belief and worship of God. But is this doctrine logically coherent? How can there be three divine persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), each is God, and yet there is only one God? This is a fundamental question for philosophers, but theologians have additional questions. This Element addresses philosophical and theological issues concerning the Trinity: Hermeneutical and Logical problems, Personal Pronouns, Monarchy, Equality, the Greek vs. Latin filioque debate, Real Relations, Unity of Action, Self-Knowledge in the Trinity, and Simplicity. Based on my recent rediscovery of the sixth ecumenical council's (Constantinople III) clarifications of Trinitarian doctrine, this Element introduces Conciliar Trinitarianism and shows how it responds to the issues, including a resolution to the fundamental logical question. It also compares Conciliar Trinitarianism with Miaphysite, neo-Sabellian, Social, and other models of the Trinity.
Religious Trauma
When religion is the site of abuse and trauma, it can deeply impact a person's ability to relate to God and engage in spiritual practice. As such, religious trauma is ripe for philosophical exploration. Section 1 of this Element provides a brief history of the concept of psychological trauma, contemporary accounts of its neurobiological basis, and its impact on human agency. Section 2 sketches a model of religious trauma through the first-person narratives of survivors and emerging psychological data. Section 3 explores the social epistemology of religious trauma, focusing on how failures of knowledge create space for religious abuse and the insights of survivors may help communities guard against it. The last two sections consider three perennial topics in philosophy of religion from the perspective of religious trauma: the problem of evil, the problem of divine hiddenness, and religious experience.

Commands of the New Testament
Commands of the New Testament (God's Guide for Your Life) is a tremendous reference and resource book for those who want to follow God's direction in their lives.Christians are saved by putting their faith in Jesus Christ, who lived a perfect life, died on the cross to pay for their sins, and rose again. God loves, forgives, and saves us not because of who we are or what we do but because of the work of Christ. However, we cannot live as we please and follow God. The Bible says that we show our love for Jesus by obeying Him in all things: "If you love Me, keep My commandments" John 14:15It is not enough to claim knowledge Of God; our actions must align with His teachings. Those who profess to know God but do not obey his commands are liars, deceiving themselves, and there is no truth in them. In contrast, all those who faithfully follow his word demonstrate a love for God that is genuine and complete. 1 John 2:3-11 Therefore, this book is about learning the Commands of the New Testament to fulfill God's wishes.

Deism
DeismFrom Philosophy to ReligionThis is a work that illuminates a spiritual and intellectual journey, exploring the connection between God, science and human existence from the perspective of a philosophy that rejects dogma and celebrates reason. Inspiring notable minds such as Benjamin Franklin and Albert Einstein, deism proposes a vision of God as the transcendental architect of the universe, whose creation is governed by immutable natural laws.Through the words of master deist Marcel Dubois, the book challenges the limitations of the anthropomorphic understanding of God present in many traditional religions. In its place, it presents reason as the way to decipher the divine mysteries, free from dogma and prejudice. In this brilliant and captivating narrative, profound themes are addressed, such as the interaction between spirituality and science, the nature of universal laws and the role of humanity in the search for truth. The journey of the soul, described with philosophical depth, reveals an irresistible invitation to question and reflect. With a clear and thought-provoking approach, Deism: From Philosophy to Religion offers the reader a new perspective on spirituality. It is more than a book; it is a guide for those who seek answers about God and the universe through logic and observation, reaffirming intellectual freedom as the essence of the deistic path.

Rest
Someone wisely said, "The busier you are, the more quiet time you need!" Yet, we often lose sight of our need to stop and commune with God because the noise of the world distracts us. What did the Lord do after He had created the Heavens and the Earth? He rested. But it is difficult for us to do the same. Christians must understand the spiritual nature of rest. It is not merely a necessary step to resume our work. It's true-rest recharges us to be more productive. But the importance of rest goes well beyond maintaining our physical energy. Rest honors the covenant God made with man through the gift of His presence. Author Linda Acker expertly explains the significance of spiritual rest, providing 60 devotionals to foster Christlike growth. The acronym R.E.S.T. is her shorthand for describing God's desired way for us to become more like Him. We are to: - Rest in the finished work of Jesus. We cannot earn our salvation or a place in Heaven through our works.- Enjoy His presence. He'll be there for us when we need him. Where we are, He is.- Seek to live for Him. Stepping away from our busy lives for time with the Lord reveals more of God's best plan.- Trust Him. That's easier said than done. But it builds our faith to do so! Uncover the Truth of God's Word through these short, impactful lessons about joyful communion with God.

The Age of Reason
The Age of Reason is an important work in the American Deist movement. Paine worked on it continually for more than a decade, publishing it in three parts from 1794 through 1807. It quickly became a best-seller in post-Revolution America, spurring a revival in Deism as an alternative to the prevailing Christian influence. The Age of Reason presents common deistic arguments; for example, it highlights what Paine saw as corruption of the Christian Church and criticizes its efforts to acquire political power. Paine advocates reason in the place of revelation, leading him to reject miracles and to view the Bible as an ordinary piece of literature, rather than a divinely-inspired text. In The Age of Reason, he promotes natural religion and argues for the existence of a creator god. The cool rationale of Paine's The Age of Reason influenced religious thinking throughout the world; and its pervasive influence continues to the present day.
The Other Side
The Other Side offers a compelling call to align one's life with divine purpose, countering the misleading messages of the world with the truth of God's intentional and loving creation. Jennifer Simmons argues that this intrinsic quest for purpose and identity can only be truly fulfilled through a personal relationship with God. She highlights the limitations of relying solely on our physical senses and encourages readers to seek a deeper spiritual connection with the Creator. Simmons illustrates that God's greatest desire is for us to know Him personally, and in doing so, discover our true selves.

Freedom of Religion in Nigeria
This paper explores the intricate relationship between Christian teachings on submission to civil authorities, as outlined in Romans 13:1-7, and the quest for freedom of religion. Romans 13:1-7 provides a biblical foundation for the submission of Christians to governing authorities, emphasizing the role of government as an institution established by God. The study begins by delving into the biblical passage, analyzing the principles of submission, obedience, and the Christian's responsibility towards civil authorities. Special attention is given to the contextual nuances of applying these principles within a diverse and dynamic society like Nigeria. The paper advocates for a nuanced understanding that promotes peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and constructive engagement between Christian communities and civil authorities in Nigeria. It suggests practical ways in which the principles of submission to authority can be harmonized with the promotion of religious freedom, fostering a society where individuals can express their faith freely while upholding the rule of law.

Christianity and Kenosis
The subject of this research is the notion of Christianity in the dialogue between Ren矇 Girard and Gianni Vattimo. To this end, it is argued that the central idea linking the two authors is the understanding of Christianity as kenosis. This notion is approached taking into account Girard's theory of the natural sacred. The idea of the sacred is structuring, because from it we know that the religious is founded on human violence. Man is governed by a desire for mimetic appropriation, which leads to rivalries. When violence flared up in primitive societies, it generated such conflicts that sacrifice was necessary to contain the crisis that threatened to extirpate the entire group. The sacred was born from the atoning sacrifice, which was sustained in the form of rites, interdicts and remembrance of the sacrifice. Christianity, as interpreted by Girard and Vattimo, reveals and denounces this victim-making mechanism, indicating that the victim is innocent. Therefore, in order to talk about kenosis and secularisation, Vattimo uses this idea of the loss of the elements of the sacred. With the dissolution of the sacred, Christianity appears in its weakened form, and caritas is a way of rejecting human violence.

Holdup on Holiness
And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. John 8:32 (ESV) Only the Truth makes it possible to discover a freedom that brings Life in its fullness, as described by the followers of the Lord Jesus Christ. If the Truth is God, as Christ is the Lord, then any deviation from it leads to a reinterpretation of reality, which ultimately leads to misunderstanding: Because the Truth is one, it's Jesus Christ, the only image of God the Father. Holdup on Holiness reveals the correct path of Christianity as it was understood in the early years of the Church, when the disciples and apostles of the Lord presented His teaching without interference. Forced by circumstances to rediscover God's grace, which is the only way to manifest the full potential of the Holy Word as explained in the Bible, Regis Eitel N. through experience has become a testimony to the genuineness of the Holy Spirit and the proof that worshipping in the Spirit and in the Truth brings the full power of God Almighty's grace.
I Want My Church Back
This "timeless" book was written thereby to resuscitate what people have called an outdated, slumping movement and renew its purpose for existence. That purpose is to be a vehicle for healing and deliverance in a broken society. Yet, what happens if the church is broken? How does it participate in the healing of the world? The desired result is to produce a purpose-driven, loving, need-fulfilling, life-changing "model church", that honors God in word and deed.
