Abr瓣umer, Abstauber, Abenteurer. Band II
Make money with sports betting 1
Since 2019 this book exists in German, now finally the English translation of this Buyer exists! Lorenz Laplace succeeded in gaining a fortune of 20,000 EUR quite systematically through sports betting within three years with 1,000 EUR starting capital and many small bets with stakes of 20-50 EUR. Laplace gives tips in easy-to-remember rules: For example, the main betting rule, the tax-favourites rule or the crass-outsider rule. The derivation of these tips is done in an understandable way, and the calculations are very easy to follow. The core of his strategy for betting is based on the following insight: the probabilities for a sporting event cannot be calculated exactly. So, every betting provider errs in setting the odds. Some odds are too low, others are too high for the outcome. It is only necessary to recognise in which direction the betting provider errs, e.g., in favour of the underdog or the favourite. The bettor's error is analysed with the help of a four-point plan, and then the bets are placed, naturally on the events that have received odds that are too high from the bettor. In addition, Lorenz Laplace gives other decisive tips, e.g., how to optimally integrate promotions: Deposit bonuses, free bets, cashback, or combination bet insurance, etc. The book is a must for every betting enthusiast who wants to make long - term profits with betting.

Murray Walker
The voice of motor racing and much loved public figure - and the man responsible for introducing millions of viewers to the previously inaccessible world of Formula 1 - tells the story of his incident-packed life, with a brand new chapter on his globetrotting adventures since retirement.Murray Walker is a national treasure. When the man who made famous the catch phrase 'Unless I'm very much mistaken... I AM very much mistaken!!!' announced that he was retiring as ITV's Grand Prix commentator, the media reacted as if the sport itself was losing one of its biggest stars. His reputation for mistakes was the making of Walker. He was the fan who happened to be given the keys to the commentary box - and never wanted to give them back. His high-octane delivery kept viewers on the edge of their seats, while his passion for talking about the sport he loved was matched by an all-encompassing knowledge gained through hours of painstaking research before every race.In his book he writes about his childhood and the influence that his father, British motorcycle champion Graham Walker, had on his career. Failing to match his father's achievements on the track after active service in World War II, he made a successful career for himself in advertising which catapulted him to the top of his profession. An offer from the BBC to take over the commentary seat for their F1 broadcasts was too good to turn down, and it wasn't long before the infamous 'Murrayisms' enlivened a sport which until then had been shrouded in a cloak of unfathomable technical jargon and mind-numbing statistics. He also talks about the biggest changes in the sport over the last 50 years, in particular the safety issues which came to the fore after the tragic death of Ayrton Senna, which he witnessed first hand. His partnership with James Hunt behind the microphone is the subject of some hilarious anecdotes, while his views on drivers past and present such as Stirling Moss, Jackie Stewart, Damon Hill and Michael Schumacher make for fascinating reading.
How To Begin Equine Clicker Training
This book clearly outlines what is involved with clicker training horses. Positive reinforcement is explained with photographs and further illustrated with many short, free YouTube video clips. It contains eight detailed Training Plan outlines ready for use to set up education programs for individual horses. Techniques such as 'free-shaping' are clearly described without delving into scientific terminology. Positive reinforcement training is rapidly challenging many traditional ideas about horse training. This book shows how equine clicker training opens a host of new possibilities by letting a horse know when he is are right, rather than telling him when he is wrong. It shows how clicker training adds a new dimension to horsemanship. The handler and the horse learn the new clicker training language together. Clicker training does not mean you have to click and treat every task forever. The book explains how it is a technique you can use to communicate more accurately what you would like the horse to learn. It encourages you to turn general Training Plans into Individual Education Programs custom-made to exactly suit the horse you are working with.
Notorious
Straddling humour, trivia and sport, 'Notorious' brings together for the first time one hundred of the most potty sportsmen in history. From boxing to cycling, soccer to baseball, and most sports in between, here are the hard-men and the criminals, the psychos and the loonies, that make up the sporting madness hall of shame. Among the prime candidates for sporting lunacy in this book: Prinya Charoenpal, one of the most talented kick-boxers in the sport's history, who wore make-up and pink nail polish, broke down when asked to strip for the weigh-in, pummelled the opponent who made the mistake of mocking her with a camp embrace, and who fought solely to get the money for a sex-change operation. Jack 'Hacksaw' Reynolds, the San Francisco 49-ers linebacker during the 80s, who once got plastered after losing a college game, went out to the car park with a hacksaw, and cut someone's car in half. The Brazilian football star Edmundo, infamous on the pitch for beating up fans, referees and journalists, and making his name off it by crashing his truck and killing three people, and being arrested for force-feeding beer to a chimpanzee at his son's birthday party. And there's more. The rugby league hard-man with a predilection for sticking a rigid digit finger up opponents' rears on the field of play; the baseball Hall of Famer who wielded his bat to beat up unsuspecting victims; the golfer hospitalised three times for alcohol poisoning, who came through two suicide attempts, three divorces, plus countless hotel room trashings and suspensions; the Irish jockey involved in an air rage incident who copped 110 hours of community service... And closer to home, the likes of Roy Keane, Alex Higgins, Vinnie Jones and Paul Gascoigne are also featured in this wildly captivating, and often shocking, collection of crazed sports celebrities.
Wei Kuen Do
Part biography, part training manual, this hybrid work had its genesis at the first international gathering of Wei Kuen Do instructors, held in California in 2012. At this unprecedented event, the Founder and Headmaster of the Wei Kuen Do system--Leo T. Fong--promulgated the first official syllabus of his art and awarded instructor ranks in this system. Many of those fortunate enough to attend this martial conclave worked together over the years that followed to put together a book intended to tell the story of this true master, the art he created, and the way he teaches. The history, tradition, techniques, and principles contained in this book are, in the words of master Fong, "the foundation on which the art is built."
An Ethnography of Urban Exploration
This book analyses a unique leisure world that has been built around a newly emerging phenomenon known as urban exploration; the art of exploring human-made environments which are generally abandoned or hidden from sight of the public eye. Drawing on Michel Foucault's concept of heterotopia, Bingham provides a detailed and critical investigation of urban exploration as a form of leisure that is about the coming together of drifting performers who, in their celebration of 'rebellion' and 'deviance', are determined to find a sense of meaning and belonging. The research considers the influence of consumer capitalism on urban explorers, and the wider social, economic and political context that shapes ideas of belonging and identity in the twenty-first century. By doing this, the book analyses urban exploration as an activity that has emerged in a time when human ideas about culture, individuality and community have transformed, and 'solid' modernity is gradually disintegrating around us. This multi and interdisciplinary work will appeal to people with an interest in 'abnormal' or 'deviant' leisure, as well as academics from sociology, anthropology, social geography, leisure studies, cultural studies, sport and recreation and tourism.

On Boxing
This book is a philosophical and cultural critique of contemporary boxing. It broadens and deepens our understanding of the empirically and normatively entwined complexities of a sport that is often misunderstood and all too easily reduced to stereotypes. Moving between and among work in ethnography, sociology, urban studies and, especially, the philosophy of sport, and drawing on research in boxing gyms in the US, the book presents a stereoscopic view of professional boxing as both situated cultural practice and formalized competitive sport. It takes us inside and outside the ring in discussions of the cultural embeddedness of boxing and boxing gyms, the formation of pugilistic selfhood and 'boxer cool', the nature and function of combat sport violence and sparring, and the aesthetics and ethics of cornering a boxing match. With its interdisciplinary focus on the empirical and normative dimensions of professional pugilism, On Boxing makes explicit the bittersweetness of the 'sweet science' and provides a new theoretical framework for analysing boxing and, indeed, sport in general. Written for a broad audience, this is important reading for scholars and students working in the areas of philosophy and sociology of sport and combat sport studies, as well as policy makers, coaches, and commentators engaged in the sport of boxing.

Stingray For A Day
This is not a brag rag about fame and grandeur. It's not a story about accolades and monetary reward. This is an honest account that defines the spirit of sacrifice, dedication, passion, and true grit. It exemplifies the meaning of having heart and following your heart. This is a motivational sports story, but not one that you may be accustomed to. Chris Rohaley didn't come from poverty or wealth; he was lost somewhere in the lower-middle class. He fought age, size, lack of talent, injury and himself to chase a dream he thought was long lost. He manifested his own destiny, worked his ass off to defy the odds stacked against him to try and become a professional football rookie at the age of 30. It was a nothing team that went nowhere in a nothing league full of undrafted or dropout college kids looking for another opportunity, or NFL camp rejects who got busted or released. It has long since been forgotten by all except those who played in it.

Lower League Football in Crisis
While the field of football studies has produced an abundance of literature on professional, top-league football, there is little research output to do with the non-top level football. This book explores the relationship between the top and lower leagues, laying open the drastic schisms that exist between the different levels. The study links the developments at the top level of English and German football in the past 30 years to transformational processes in lower league football. Illustrating how the hegemonic status of top football weighs hard on the spheres below, it depicts how it also serves as a blueprint for lower league football clubs' strategies in coping with a threefold dilemma of institutional legitimacy that shows itself in economic, cultural and social dimensions. Taking the different club structures in both national contexts as a starting point, it portrays both the efficacy of institutional frameworks and how these can be challenged from below. This research will be of interest to students and scholars across football studies, sports studies, the sociology of sport, and organisation studies.
