Several of the illustrations in the Santa Season series were originally hand drawn as cards that I sold at one of my first crafts fairs. You'll find the original 1976 copyright mark on them (elves, Santa, angel, wreath, candles). They were part of a show I participated in at California State University in Sacramento, back then known as Sacramento State University, before the shift to CSUs. I could have redrawn them, but decided to just "clean them up" using digital editing programs. I was unable to locate the original drawings, so I scanned the prints into the computer and set to work. The results are less than perfect, but they are presented here for your enjoyment and coloring fun. There are 4 Volumes of Santa Season - collect them all!! Volume 1 - Santa and His Elves Volume 2 - Christmas Cheer Volume 3 - Candlelight Volume 4 - Stuffed Stockings Full Set - Volumes 1-4 The mandalas and patterns are all derived from these original drawings, plus a few more that didn't make it into this book. Nancy Crow: Drawings: Monoprints and Riffs is a beautifully illustrated catalog showcasing the newest work of renowned artist Nancy Crow. Over the last decade Crow has transformed her quiltmaking by developing a unique monoprinting technique. Monoprinting on cotton fabric, she focuses on drawn lines, layered one upon another, that result in a complex visual tangle. The work in this series simultaneously produces both clarity and depth. In her Riff and Drawing: Riff series, Crow has continued to explore her "drawing with fabric" approach. In these works Crow improvisationally cuts through layers of highly saturated hand-dyed fabrics, creating crisp forms with slight curves and undulations caused by subtle movements of her arm, which are then stitched together in dynamic compositions. This catalog includes Crow's descriptions of these innovative techniques as well as candid musings on her personal journey as a driven, passionate artist. In addition, Crow's work is discussed in an essay by Jean Robertson, Chancellor's Professor Emerita of Art History at the Herron School of Art and Design at Indiana University-Purdue University. Also featured is a foreword by David Hornung, professor of art and art history at Adelphi University, New York. The catalog accompanies a 2020 exhibition of Crow's work at the International Quilt Museum, University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Glass as an art form has an ancient tradition; the archaeological record suggests that artisans in Egypt and Mesopotamia were fabricating glass vessels and ornaments during the fourth millennium BCE. Its durable nature, range of colors, malleability, and most of all, its optical transparency are qualities that have made glass a premiere art medium. Over a lifetime, Frederick Birkhill (1951-2023) has explored the unique qualities of glass and the numerous techniques and intrica- cies of working with it. The result of these decades of study is a body of work that is extraordinary in scope, technical expertise, and sheer virtuosity. The Artist Book Foundation is delighted to present a new monograph honoring this gifted artist: Glassworks: The Art of Frederick Birkhill.
