The Audacious Adventures of Zazoo Plazz
As an only child growing up in the 1970s, Leslie Bilodeau Placzek (aka "Zazoo Plazz") read, wrote, and wondered about many things: "French" words (from her "Bilodeau" French heritage); TV commercials (and all things pop culture); astrology; yoga; baked beans; what the neighbors were up to; where our souls go when we die; and how to improve upon her mother's cleaning techniques. Motivated by learning and serving others, Leslie hops from one inflated expectation to the next on her journey to fully embody and express Zazoo Plazz, a twenty-first-century career woman, wife and mother. She is a "Part-Time Superhero, Full-Time Mom" - and her stories honor the superhero in all women. This collection of vignettes is a playful romp through the quirky imagination of a "Late-Blooming Post-Boomer" as she enters midlife - and finally learns how to share her discoveries with the world, become her own superhero, tame her "big '80s hair," and find an outfit appropriate for running a household, a business, and a half marathon. But will her canine sidekick, DD (aka Bebe - the Divine Diva dog), steal the scene---and the last slice of pizza--and bring Zazoo back down to earth?

Female. Likes Cheese. Comes with Dog.
When Lauren Peacock was twenty-three years old, she got her fairy-tale wedding. But she soon discovered that a dream wedding doesn't guarantee a dream marriage. Divorced at twenty-seven, Lauren did a figurative face-plant onto the floor of the dating scene and had to learn some awkward lessons, like how it's not socially acceptable to push a crush into the dirt after the age of seven.A mix of self-deprecating humor and fearless vulnerability, Lauren's collection of hilarious anecdotes will win over readers prone to pairing ros矇 with mac and cheese and waxing nostalgic over nineties-era pop culture references. With unapologetic honesty, she reveals even the least-flattering details of her dating life, which are so relatable they'll make readers either cringe or laugh out loud. After dusting herself off, Lauren describes just how far she's willing to go--we're talking all the way across the Atlantic--to find her Prince Charming.

Birth and Other Surprises
Birth and Other Surprises is a memoir of childhood in the seventies (no seat belts, no bike helmets, lots of eating paste) and early parenting adventures (no privacy, no clue, lots of eating what's left on the plate) by Foreword Reviews INDIE Finalist for Humor Kimberly Davis Basso. Both a follow up and a prequel for fans of I'm a Little Brain Dead, it's written in the same brutally honest style and will ignite book club discussions all over again. Early parenting lessons from a child of the seventies - because you have to remember what it's like to be a child, in order to raise a child. Why, yes, there is a chapter on Epidurals, Episiotomies and Enemas called E.e.e.k! and Kimberly did do all the research herself. You'll also get the Top Ten Questions she should have asked while pregnant and learn The Stupidest Thing We Ever Did, 1978 edition in addition to interactive portions of the book, like the Parenting Spirit Animals Quiz. 100% not scientific and yet still remarkably accurate- turns out Kimberly's spirit animal is a sea horse, like so many. Lovely Hubby does make an appearance or two, what with being the other half of her procreative process and once again all names have been changed to protect the innocent. Even if you aren't a parent, the alien analogies alone are worth a look. After all, Kimberly wasn't born, she arrived. Kimberly Davis Basso has been hononred as Book of the Year Finalist for Humor from Foreword Reviews, a Writer's Digest Honorable Mention Author for Life Stories, an International Book Awards Finalist and others, none of which impress her children.

Fables and Parables
THE HEDGEHOG AND THE MOLE.(from Fables and Parables by Lessing) The Hedgehog, when he found that the winter drew near, asked the Mole to spare him a little place in his hole, that he might be protected from the cold. The Mole agreed; but no sooner had the Hedgehog gained admittance, than he began to make himself comfortable, and to spread himself out, so that his host pricked himself every moment, now here, now there, with the hard bristles of his new guest. The poor Mole now perceived the consequences of his rashness; protested that this was quite intolerable to him, and in short desired the Hedgehog to depart, as his small dwelling could not possibly contain them both. But the Hedgehog laughed, and said, "Whoever is displeased with his situation, let him depart! I, for my part, am well contented, and remain." Reflect first, whom thou wilt take into thy intimate companionship; if he prove an unsociable person, thou mayst then be obliged to make room to thine own damage.

Short Ribs
This volume is the first of an intended series of comedic fiction, based on observations and reflections on the world as we create and perceive it in an everyday sense. These reflections are contained within the various puns, riddles, micro-stories and cartoons herein, flavoured by the liberal dusting of a dry sense of humour. Elements of life common to all of us are found here, expressed in a minimalist manner so that you, the reader, form the true image in your head, as pertinent to your life. The words simply plant the seed. Just be warned that the seed may provide unexpected fruit, but this is fully intended. If life were to be fully predictable, it would have no life in it. To laugh at our own foibles is to be content with ourselves, even if only for a moment or two. We trust you will embark with us on a voyage of introspection, celebration and pure imagination as we set out to explore the frontiers of the human experience and the nether-reaches of pure silliness. This combination sets us free of the weight of world for a time, opens our hearts and minds to recall the many roads and milestones of our lives, while wrapped in the warm hug of humour. Come with us. We have cookies!
WTF? The Little Book of Social Media Terminology
Social media has reshaped our cultural landscape in more ways than we know, least of which is in the language we use to communicate with each other in both verbal and written form. Popular user-generated content sites like Urban Dictionary have sprung up to help catalog the ever-growing collection of terms of phrases that seem to spin off of each other and go in entirely new directions, and unite us around exactly what these words really mean and why and when they are to be used. As the parent of 14 and 11 year old daughters, Gen Z'ers who spend more than their fair share of time using their favorite social media apps, Scott Weiss decided it was time to call out some of the more popular terms and phrases he often hears his daughters using in book format, something parents like him could reference at a moment's notice, and thus, this pocketbook took form."WTF? The Little Handbook of Social Media Terminology" is the perfect gift for the person in your life that just doesn't get it: the mother or father that still thinks Facebook is cool, the grandparent who can't figure out how to turn their phone on and off, or the friend who needs to be "shook" a little bit.
How to American
Standup comic, actor and fan favorite from HBO's Silicon Valley and the film Crazy Rich Asians shares his memoir of growing up as a Chinese immigrant in California and making it in Hollywood. "I turned down a job in finance to pursue a career in stand-up comedy. My dad thought I was crazy. But I figured it was better to disappoint my parents for a few years than to disappoint myself for the rest of my life. I had to disappoint them in order to pursue what I loved. That was the only way to have my Chinese turnip cake and eat an American apple pie too." Jimmy O. Yang is a standup comedian, film and TV actor and fan favorite as the character Jian Yang from the popular HBO series Silicon Valley. In How to American, he shares his story of growing up as a Chinese immigrant who pursued a Hollywood career against the wishes of his parents: Yang arrived in Los Angeles from Hong Kong at age 13, learned English by watching BET RapCity for three hours a day, and worked as a strip club DJ while pursuing his comedy career. He chronicles a near deportation episode during a college trip Tijuana to finally becoming a proud US citizen ten years later. Featuring those and many other hilarious stories, while sharing some hard-earned lessons, How to American mocks stereotypes while offering tongue in cheek advice on pursuing the American dreams of fame, fortune, and strippers.

Clean Jokes For A Smile
Please note that this book contains jokes from many sources. In general, jokes have no authors. They are "hand-me-downs" from one generation to another. The jokes are my compilation over a period of ten years taken from many sources: books, emails, word-of-mouth, my memory, joke web sites, etc. I have attempted to avoid distasteful and lurid jokes, but some contained herein may be a bit risque. And finally, there is no category order to the jokes, such as animal, bar, St. Peter, etc.Bob Russell

Did the Smarter Apes Stay in the Trees?
Does the state of the world leave you feeling battered, gloomy, depressed?Phil Trapp's new book will have you laughing despite yourself. The title - Did the Smarter Apes Stay in the Trees? - should be a dead giveaway that this satire takes an irreverent, tongue-in-cheek look at human foibles. The book is written in the form of five taped dialogues between Grandfather, the fount of wisdom, and his newly graduated, somewhat lost Grandson. Grandfather proposes a hilarious group of related theories about human intelligence, including the role of Dum-Dum (DD) and Smart-Smart (SS) cells in some of the more irrational, ill-considered, yet basic human behaviors. Few beliefs are left unchallenged, beginning with Adam and Eve and continuing through healthcare today.Grandfather's theory can explain the brilliance of the discovery of DNA, the invention of quantum mechanics, and the landing of a space shuttle on the moon. On the other hand, the theory also sheds light on such follies as the boarding of flies and mosquitoes on Noah's Ark, Custer's Last Stand, and the vote for prohibition. Drawings by Rhonda Butler underscore the whimsy in some of his concepts.Over these conversations, Grandfather also shares his understanding of the inconsistencies and inherent flaws in the perspectives of many in our most valued professions, including medicine, theology, science, education, and law. Nothing is sacred. Each new revelation pushes the satire further, challenging commonly-held beliefs. The reader is torn between laughing out loud, wincing, and snickering appreciatively at the creativity of Trapp's reworking of the facts of life as we know it.Some examples of Grandfather's dry wit will help flesh out the workings of his mind. On human intelligence: "Since the brain is 80 percent water, it's little wonder most of our lives are all wet." On religion: "That it's much more fun being bad than good is proof of the pudding there is more devil than angel in us." On health: "Heart mechanics charge a heap more for valve jobs than auto mechanics because they have to keep the engine running." A secondary theme running through the dialogues is the common flaw of taking life too seriously, the tragedy lying in the roadblocks it sets up to happiness, the much-needed balance to grim reality. This is a book to be read slowly and savored. The levels of meaning and humor can be appreciated on first reading, but there is even more to enjoy on subsequent readings. The satire can also be an ideal gift to a friend or relative associated with one of the professions challenged in Grandfather's world view.

A Lady's Life in the Rocky Mountains
First published serially and then into a book in 1879, "A Lady's Life in the Rocky Mountains" is one of the many accounts of Isabella L. Bird's amazing travels and adventures. Born in Yorkshire, England in 1831, Bird was never formally educated and was often sickly as a child, but she was an avid reader and loved the outdoors. In 1854, at the age of twenty-two, she left a comfortable life in England for her first trip abroad to America. She fell in love with discovering new places and defied tradition while undertaking grand adventures as an unmarried woman. Bird went onto travel to Australia and Hawaii, while publishing several accounts of her experiences, before finding her way to Colorado. "A Lady's Life in the Rocky Mountains", her fourth publication and her most famous, contains the account of six months of her travels in 1873 through the rugged terrain of the Colorado Rockies. The book is based upon her colorful letters sent back home to her sister and the account relates the many hardships of the great western frontier, the unique characters she meets, and the incredible natural world she found in the newly settled western territories. The Diarrhea Diaries
The 480 Tweets assembled in this book were selected by the Editor and are solely those of Donald J. Trump, currently the President of the United States. They are presented here word-for-word as he wrote them. Misspellings and punctuation errors are Mr. Trumps. Tweets are presented in specific categories as shown in the Table of Contents. Tweets longer than 280 characters are those continued in a second or third Tweet. Mr. Trump targeted many of the same individuals often retweeting an existing Tweet by changing a pejorative word (s) to reinforce his ire with that person along with other key words used over and over to make his point. Bold and underlined words within the Tweets are by the Editor to demonstrate this pattern. The Tweets are presented with no political intent other than to demonstrate how The President prefers to communicate, how he responds to those who disagree with him and his responses to his perceived political enemies. Some will find these Tweets amusing. Others may be dismayed that they were written by the President of the United States.

How the F*ck Are You Still President
Two years after pleading with President Trump to "Stop F**king Tweeting and Go the F**k to Sleep," author, illustrator and not-a-White-House-staffer-he-swears John Spreincer McKellyanne Huckamucci has given up. Like anyone who can read this whole paragraph without getting a nosebleed or asking for help, he's counting the days until 2020 (and hoping for a peachy surprise to shorten the wait). More profane, less affectionate, and more hands-in-the-air desperate than ever, with vibrant illustrations pouring out of every page, "How the F*ck Are You Still President" is horrifying, hopeless, and tear ducts-wettingly sad - a book for American voters new, old, and expectant (who all better vote). You probably should not read it to your president (at least not until 2021).

Humor of a Country Lawyer
Originally published in 1984, Senator Ervin's delightful collection of stories and anecdotes winds its way from his native Morganton through Chapel Hill and Harvard, the military, the North Carolina Supreme Court, the United States Senate, and Watergate. It represents a lifetime of wit and wisdom -- told in the late Senator Ervin's inimitable style.
Shorts That Fit Well
Shorts That Fit Well is a collection of short stories that includes fiction and non-fiction anecdotes. Each tale will inspire good feelings and smiles. Author Wayne Beyea playfully invokes times long since passed while sharing universal emotions that time does not touch. He recollects the beauty of taking in an injured dog and the revelation of new puppies. He explores an innocent child's view of God, begging the question, "Is He good, or is He bad?" (Also, God, why are brothers so annoying?) His fictional characters admire the beauty of nature amidst life's chaos while building unexpected relationships with wild creatures. Beyea time-travels to his days as a sixth grader and introduces one tough teacher. He also swings through the life of a man just returned from war as he is questioned about his experiences and judged in ways he does not deserve. Whether fact or fiction, each story in this collection mimics reality and entertains with a gentle touch.
