Controller Design for Solar Tracking System
In order to overcome this problem, solar tracking systems are used to increase the capability and improve the performance of the photo voltanic panel. Generally, the conventional PID controllers are used for controlling linear and negligible lag system. For controlling non-linear systems the conventional controllers do not work effectively, therefore for such systems intelligent control techniques are needed. When adopting remote sensing techniques in precision agriculture, there are two main areas to consider: data acquisition and data analysis methodologies. Imagery and remote sensor data collected using different platforms provide a variety of information volumes and formats. For example, recent research in precision agriculture has used multispectral images from different platforms, such as satellites, airborne, and, most recently, drones. These images have been used for various analyses, from the detection of pests and diseases, growth, and water status of crops to yield estimations. However, accurately detecting specific biotic or abiotic stresses requires a narrow range of spectral information to be analyzed for each application. In data analysis, the volume and complexity of data formats obtained using the latest technologies in remote sensing (e.g., a cube of data for hyperspectral imagery) demands complex data processing systems and data analysis using multiple inputs to estimate specific categorical or numerical targets. New and emerging methodologies within artificial intelligence, such as machine learning and deep learning, have enabled us to deal with these increasing data volumes and the analysis complexity.

Civil engineering structures may vibrate due to different sources of excitations such as earthquakes, wind, traffic, humans, etc. The resulting vibrations may not be acceptable from the perspective of vibration comfort or can even impair the structure's safety. Depending on the excitation mechanism, anti-vibration measures range from increasing the structural damping using local dampers, decoupling the structure from the disturbance using vibration isolators and compensating for the excitation forces using vibration compensators. Aircraft with four or more horizontal rotors have undergone an accelerated evolution in recent years. Research groups in the area of systems engineering, control engineering students, and amateurs in general are working on the implementation of more robust models and controllers, so that they can work with more detailed, accurate, and therefore more realistic simulations of the behavior of quadrotors. Many authors, thinking in the future in a practical implementation and limited in computing power by the imposed lightness in weight, choose to keep relatively simple the modeling of the vehicle dynamics which makes possible to control the quadrotor using classical control techniques of linear systems such as PID, through the linearization of the dynamics of behavior of the device around an operating point that is usually chosen according to where the device should hover. However, wide range flight or more complex maneuvers require a better performance of the control system.

This is fundamentally fueled by two technological achievements, namely the Internet of Things (IoT), which enables the continuous and comprehensive collection of all kinds of data, and blockchain technologies, which provide secure data management and exchange. In addition to those information security measures, data privacy solutions are also required to protect the sensitive data involved. In this book, eight research papers address security and privacy challenges when dealing with blockchain technologies and the IoT. Electrostatic Precipitators
Electrostatic precipitators (ESPs) are a class of efficient particle devices that enjoys a wide usage in industrial environments to regulate fly ash produced by combustion processes. They are becoming more prevalent, especially as the atmosphere particle emission environmental regulations are consistently getting tighter and interest in the filtration of fine particle removal is at all-time high. The precipitation process is conducted by utilizing an electrical field to ionize and transport the flow particles, also known as flue gas. This results in a clean, precipitated gas. ESPs are preferred over other alternatives mainly due to their low pressure drop of the flow, while retaining high collection efficiency, all while being cost-effective. This book reviews previous works concerning optimizing the performance of single- and multi-stage ESPs by studying the impact of changing various design parameters and evaluating their respective effects on different performance indices. Some of the performance parameters considered are the corona power ratio, current-voltage (I-V) characteristics, and overall collection efficiency. Various modeling methodologies are thoroughly discussed, showcasing the timeline of their development, their inherent shortcomings and how these are alleviated in more developed models. The relationship between the electrohydrodynamic (EHD) flow and the precipitation performance in these models is also presented. As for design considerations, the performance effects of using different electrode configurations and geometries in terms of the number of electrodes, relative dimensions, spacings, channel lengths, and overall design are also reviewed.

On the other hand, factories also release waste gases into the air. Because of pollution there is a rise in harmful ultraviolet rays. Because of light intensity during night times, accidents occur because of light reflections from either side vehicles may cause blurred sensation in eyes. In this project we are proposing an embedded device which is a combination of embedded system and PHP web server and measure the parameters like CO gases, sound intensity, UV and light intensities. If any of these parameters crosses it's limit then it will send data to PHP server from the server message will be sent to the authorities to take action in that area to control pollution.

Such a practice might not be practical because an interval valued membership may reflect the vagueness of system better according to human thinking patterns. The Grey fuzzy set is more capable to handle the uncertainty of system using type-2 fuzzy set.
Advances in Binders for Construction Materials
The global binder production for construction materials is approximately 7.5 billion tons per year, contributing 6% to the global anthropogenic atmospheric CO2 emissions. Reducing this carbon footprint is a key aim of the construction industry, and current research focuses on developing new innovative ways to attain more sustainable binders and concrete/mortars as a real alternative to the current global demand for Portland cement.With this aim, several potential alternative binders are currently being investigated by scientists worldwide, based on calcium aluminate cement, calcium sulfoaluminate cement, alkali-activated binders, calcined clay limestone cements, nanomaterials, or supersulfated cements. Working life is in a major transition. Furthermore, environmental, societal, and economic problems challenge human activities. The need to develop reliance and sustainability also through higher education is evident. It has been anticipated that emphasis on entrepreneurship competencies will be even stronger in the future. In this book, Entrepreneurial Education Strengthening Resilience, Societal Change and Sustainability, we provide insights on how to develop entrepreneurial competencies within higher education and its existing networks. First, the book guides the reader to understand how political documents steer the implementation of global goals and what could be improved. Second, we present how pedagogical solutions and models can meaningfully support the development of entrepreneurial competencies in the field of higher education. Analytical, Numerical and Big-Data-Based Methods in Deep Rock Mechanics
With the increasing requirements for energy, resources, and space, numerous rock engineering projects (e.g., mining, tunnelling, underground storage, and geothermal and petroleum engineering) are more often being constructed and operated in large-scale, deep underground, and complex geology environments. Meanwhile, more and more unconventional rock failures and rock instabilities (e.g., rockbursts, large-scale collapses, and mine earthquakes) are occurring and severely threatening the safety of underground operations. It is well-recognized that rocks have multiscale structures from minerals, particles, fractures, fissures, joints, and stratification to faults and involve multiscale fracture processes. In the deep earth, rocks are commonly subjected to complex high-stress and strong-dynamic disturbances simultaneously. In addition, there are many multiphysics coupling processes, such as the coupled thermo-hydromechanical interaction in fractured porous rocks. It is still difficult to understand rock mechanics and to characterize rock behaviors with complex stress conditions, multiphysics processes, and multiscale changes. The primary aim of this Special Issue is to bring together original research discussing innovative efforts on analytical, numerical, and big-data-based methods in rock mechanics. It includes 25 manuscripts that illustrate the richness and challenging nature of deep rock mechanics.

Size Effects on the Plastic Deformation of the BCC-Metals Ta and Fe
Size effects can cause a significant increase in the strength of a metal. In the past, this effect has been extensively investigated for fcc metals but until today only limited knowledge exists on the size dependent behaviour of bcc metals. Bcc metals are used in many applications and, therefore, knowledge of their size scaling is of technological importance. Size effects in bcc metals are also interesting from a fundamental scientific point of view, since underlying dislocation processes of bcc metals differ from those of fcc metals. In contrast to fcc metals, where screw and edge dislocations have similar mobilities with little or no temperature dependence, the mobility of screw dislocations in bcc metals is strongly temperature dependent. In bcc metals, screw dislocations move by thermally activated kink pair nucleation and motion. Below the material dependent athermal temperature, their mobility is lower than that of edge dislocations. In this work, the deformation of Ta and -Fe micropillars was studied using microcompression experiments. Pillars were produced using a focused ion beam microscope and were compressed in a nanoindenter using a flattened tip. The experiments show that there is a distinct size effect in bcc metals. The size effect of -Fe is similar to the one found in typical fcc metals, and it is more pronounced than the one observed in Ta. A combination of this data with data obtained from fcc metals and from several other bcc metals indicates that the size dependence of bcc metals is temperature dependent. The differences in the mechanical behaviour between fcc and bcc metals can be attributed to the difference in mobility of screw dislocations in fcc and bcc metals. Results from microcompression experiments also indicate that screw dislocations control the deformation process.
