This book chapter forecasts of global population growth demand the development of efficient, safe, and eco-friendly manufacturing methods, including in agriculture. The smart farm concept, inspired by industrial innovation, is gaining momentum with the integration of advanced technologies. Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs) are now key components of modern agriculture, helping improve crop quality and reduce labor costs. This project presents the development of a Bluetooth-controlled, electrically powered, multi-purpose agro bot capable of ploughing, watering, UV-based pest control, automatic seeding, and harvesting small fruits using a camera-assisted robotic arm. Test results show the bot efficiently navigates small obstacles and performs farming tasks, offering a low-cost, locally built solution to reduce manual labor.
Design and Development of Fatigue Testing Machine for Leaf Spring
Fatigue is the failure of a material or machine component caused by repeated or fluctuating stress, typically beginning with a tiny, undetectable crack at a point of discontinuity like a notch, hole, or machining mark. As the crack grows, stress concentration increases, accelerating the failure. Springs, including leaf springs, absorb shocks and vibrations through elastic deformation. In this study, fatigue testing of a leaf spring was conducted using a slider-crank mechanism based on impactor theory, with deflection readings measured using a strain gauge and load cell.

Mechanical Analysis of Rolling Element of Cageless Ball Bearings
Cageless ball bearings have the characteristics of a large number of rolling elements, high rigidity, and high load-bearing capacity. As a protective bearing for magnetic levitation bearings, when the magnetic levitation bearing fails, the rotor that falls due to the disappearance of magnetic force is supported to complete the rotational motion, protecting the magnetic levitation bearing stator and motor stator from damage. Scholars have found that the main reason for the failure of cageless bearings protection is due to the uncontrollable movement behavior of the isolated rolling element without cage, which leads to sliding phenomenon of the rolling element, friction and collision between the rolling element and the raceway or between the rolling element. In addition, compared to the consistency of the motion posture of the traditional bearing rolling element, the motion of rolling element about cageless bearing is stochastic. There is a lack of corresponding bearing theory research and non-contact method, which poses great challenges for controlling the motion of rolling elements about the cageless bearing.

Experimental Investigation of Wire-Cut Edm on Inconel 825
The present investigation mainly focuses on experimentation, analysis and optimization of machining parameters during WEDM on Inconel 825. Based on Box- Behenken Design, 29 experimental runs are executed on WEDM using 0.25mm dia half hard brass wire as tool electrode and de-ionized water as dielectric. Controllable parameters Ton, Toff, SV and WF are varied up to three levels to study their influence on output responses CS, Ig and Ra. Experimental models are developed employing response surface methodology (RSM). Design expert software 7.0.0 is considered for checking the adequacy of model. Regression and graphical analysis are done by analysis of Variance (ANOVA). Based on parametric analysis results, the control parameters Ton, Toff and SV have major influencing factors on responses whereas wire feed is insignificant. To achieve optimal parameter combination, multi-objective optimization of responses is performed using desirability approach. Confirmation test is performed at optimal combination of parameters provided by desirability function to validate the study. Hence, predicted value lies in correspondence with the experimental findings.
The effect of WEDM parameters of implant material using RSM technique
Titanium is slivery gray metal, ductile with 22th element in the model periodic table with atomic weight of 47.9 and density of 4.67g/cm3 which is between Aluminum and Iron. Titanium has another property like it is paramagnetic in nature, high melting point and boing point near about 1668簞C (3034簞F, 1941K) and 3287簞C (5948簞F, 3560K) which make it to heat resistance. With most demanding properties of titanium material like highly strength/weight ratio, anti-corrosivity properties which makes it difficult to machining by conventional methods. WEDM is mostly used for machining the Titanium and its alloys with good accuracy of dimensional and surface finished. The research work has been done with the Box-Behnken design of RSM technique and, the multi-response optimization was done through desirability function. Result of research work shows that effect of input variables POT, POFT, SGV, and concave profile radius on the output variables cutting speed, surface roughness, and geometric error. Experiment results shows that POT is the major significant factor that affect the cutting speed, surface roughness and also geometric error.

Optimization of Bead Geometry for Submerged Arc Welding
Submerged arc welding (SAW) cutting is a non-traditional machining method that offers a productive alternative to conventional techniques. It uses a current, voltage, speed and nozzle to plate distance and abrasive flux to weld the target material. This work contains an extensive literature review on the investigation of the various aspects in SAW machining. It shows that while considerable work has been carried out, very little research has been found on SAW welding of Stainless steel 304. Because stainless steel is having a wide application in commercial and industrial construction so there is a need to investigate the SAW welding of Stainless Steel 304. Four different process parameters were undertaken for this study; welding current, welding voltage, welding speed and nozzle to plate distance. Response surface methodology (RSM) is used to develop the experimental models. The parametric analysis based results reveal that, for the considered responses, bead height, bead width area of reinforcement and area of penetration are significant. Multi-objective optimization of the responses is performed using desirability approach to obtain the optimal parameter setting.

Fractional-Order Activation Functions for Neural Networks
This book suggests the development of single and multi-layer fractional-order neural networks that incorporate fractional-order activation functions derived using fractional-order derivatives. Activation functions are essential in neural networks as they introduce nonlinearity, enabling the models to learn complex patterns in data. However, traditional activation functions have limitations such as non-differentiability, vanishing gradient problems, and inactive neurons at negative inputs, which can affect the performance of neural networks, especially for tasks involving intricate nonlinear dynamics. To address these issues, fractional-order derivatives from fractional calculus have been proposed. These derivatives can model complex systems with non-local or non-Markovian behavior. The aim is to improve wind power prediction accuracy using datasets from the Texas wind turbine and Jeju Island wind farm under various scenarios. The book explores the advantages of fractional-order activation functions in terms of robustness, faster convergence, and greater flexibility in hyper-parameter tuning. It includes a comparative analysis of single and multi-layer fractional-order neural networks versus conventional neural networks, assessing their performance based on metrics such as mean square error and coefficient of determination.
