Young Children's Language in Context
This book explores how young children's language development is intricately connected to the context in which it takes place. The term 'context' not only specifies a geographical location, but also encompasses notions of culture, community and activity. 'Context' also refers to discourse features and functions, and to the relationships between the speakers. Every context thus embodies specific practices, intentions and values which privilege particular words, phrases, meanings and communication conventions. Each chapter highlights the dynamic, fluid and multifaceted interplays between language and context to illustrate how context, in every sense, is inextricably intertwined with young children's language and literacy learning opportunities. The chapters interrogate the topic of 'Young Children's Language in Context' by collectively exploring the multiple ways that context, broadly and variously conceptualised, intersects with language and literacy experiences. Authors examine how contexts shape language and literacy learning opportunities, how children's language shapes their social-interactive and relationship contexts, and how their language and literacy experiences are, themselves contexts which create socially and culturally endorsed ways to represent ideas, intentions and expectations. This book will be of interest to researchers and advanced students of early childhood education and language development. It was originally published as a special issue in the International Journal of Early Years Education.

Community Literacy Journal 18.2 (Spring 2024)
COMMUNITY LITERACY JOURNAL 18.2 (Spring 2024) The journal understands "community literacy" as the domain for literacy work outside mainstream educational and work institutions. It can be found in programs devoted to adult education, early childhood education, reading initiatives, lifelong learning, workplace literacy, or work with marginalized populations, but it can also be found in more informal, ad hoc projects. For COMMUNITY LITERACY JOURNAL, literacy is the realm where attention is paid not just to content or knowledge but to the symbolic means by which it is represented and used. Thus, literacy makes reference not just to letters and to text but to other multimodal and technological representations as well. We publish work that contributes to the field's emerging methodologies and research agendas. CONTENTS: Editors' Introduction by Isabel Baca and Natasha N. The novel of introspection in Brazil
This study examines the expression of subjectivity in Albertina Bertha's fiction, specifically in her lyrical novel and philosophical digressions Exalta癟瓊o, published in 1916. In this way, we are interested in the subjective processes and narrative techniques for presenting consciousness, as well as the author's affiliation with the introspective novel in Brazil, situating her within Brazilian literature through this modality. We intend to place her in a lineage, in correlation with other novels of introspection, verifying how these works echoed the ruptures with Realism in Brazil, the dialogue between Brazilian writers and the aesthetics of the late 19th century, especially Symbolism, what the meaning of space is in the narratives and its relationship with subjective processes, and which language procedures will be taken up by other Brazilian writers in narratives exploring subjectivity. In addition, this work aims to contribute to the development of a history - as yet non-existent - of the novel of introspection in Brazil.

Edgar Allan Poe's Theory of Literature
Edgar Allan Poe's Theory of Literature considers the Boston native's core ideas about what he conceives of this art of language. Without being articulated as a treatise, his formulations contain elements that give meaning to literary knowledge from the other side, from that position where the critic and essayist examines what underlies the composition of this linguistic form that opens the expression of colloquial language to insert us into a new space of the word. In the case of Allan Poe, some of his ideas are elaborated by taking his own composition as a motive for analysis, as he does with the poem The Raven, where he goes step by step through the creative strategies he used in his text. For the American author there are fundamental notions that writing should contain, formulating them with a critical sense. And although he does not do it with academic rigor or philosophical conceptual refinement, there are in his statements, theses and principles that serve as a basis for understanding what exists in literary creation.

Revitalizing the Gidar in Guider City
The revitalization of endangered languages is a field of sociolinguistics that emerged in the 1990s. Having established this, the Guider language in the town of Guider needs to be revitalized by proposing ways and means. The revitalization of the Guidingar language in Guider was carried out with the collaboration of 200 interviewees and 20 heads of families. The question around which this work was built is: How can Guidar be promoted and protected, and what are the various measures for revitalizing this language in the town of Guider? The hypothesis formulated is: the revitalization of Guidar depends on its speakers. After analysis, Guidingar is an endangered language that needs to be revitalized in Guider. Writing South Africa's social crisis
Nadine Gordimer's novels sow the seeds of optimism to save the people of South Africa. Her work is an invitation to have faith in a new South Africa. Indeed, at the same time as contributing to change, the writer provokes a psychological crisis to achieve it. Through her writing, she justifies the fact that the white man, in his desire to control everything, has mistaken the capacities of the black man. The way South African society works has created inequalities. These are the seeds of the people's suffering. To redress the balance, the writer has to react, raising questions to challenge the players in social life. It was therefore important for Gordimer, as a woman of letters, to get involved through literature, and to help make society as a whole aware of the evil that was eating away at it. This choice for a writing of hope is a revolution against the established order. Its implication calls for a change in the management policy that has been in place for decades. In a word, we need to give meaning to sacrifice through the characteristics of narrative.

This will kill that
Thus, this book aims to trace Victor Hugo's point of view, as he explains in the second chapter of Book Five of Notre-Dame de Paris, on the development of representations of human thought through time in different cultures, from mythological primitive thought to complex philosophical systems, from dogma to freedom, from architecture to literature. At the end of his research, the author finds that architecture is mankind's first literature, and literature as we know it, in fact, is the second mode of expression of human thought, and has much in common with architecture. That's why he calls it "the edifice of literature" and "the second Tower of Babel".
