Money Games Economies
Terms like "money", "finance", or "economy" might, at first glance, not seem particularly playful, but they describe concepts that are at the very heart of many game-related phenomena. A closer look reveals that the fiscal and the ludic converge more often, and on more levels, than those concerned with either of these fields would care to admit. Sometimes these links are tangible and concrete, as when games use various kinds of in-game currency, or when games are viewed as part of a business generating immense revenues. In other cases, the relation is more abstract: many games challenge their players to exhibit what might well be described as an "economic mindset", while economic enterprises and entrepreneurship are often discussed in terms of games to be won or lost, games in which success or failure depend on an understanding of the "system", and on the skills required to "play" it to one's advantage. These are also highly ideological matters, revealing how easily the games we make and play reproduce our own capitalist primings, and how, on the other hand, the neoliberal world image Is fueled by logics of gaming and gambling, of competition and zero-sum games. And finally, the systemic nature of games, and even the freedoms of play, are easily exploited for economic gain, of which addictive gambling-mechanics are only the most prominent example; but the same features that enable such dark patterns in game design make it possible to draw attention to exploitative mechanisms in games and beyond, and make us address our own willingness to be paid off with immediate pleasure while ignoring the long term cost. Memory and Sensations
The popularisation of horror as an artistic genre is not a current phenomenon in our society. Since its emergence as a genre - through theatre, the visual arts and onto the silver screen - horror, whether through the violence of death, the pursuit of monsters or access to the world of spirits, has traversed our deepest fears and anxieties, intriguing its most diverse spectators. In this research, we will look at the relationship between the aesthetics of cinematic horror in the 21st century and the transformation of contemporary sensibility and memory, based on Walter Benjamin's studies of shock effects since Modernity. These transformations will affect the way subjects feel, perceive, remember and forget today. We will problematise the aesthetics of a new kind of horror cinema, which presents a greater intensity of violence than films produced in the 20th century, both in terms of content and form, as well as the relationship that is established between the viewer and the images, and the reason for viewers' progressive demand for this type of product.

Arquivar em Mar Aberto (Archiving in the Open Sea), produced as a final project for the Bachelor's Degree in Visual Arts, is an essay on art and madness. Investigating the images from the Collection of the Creativity Workshop at the S瓊o Pedro Psychiatric Hospital, the author seeks to reflect on how we can relate to these images. Krak Des Chevaliers in Homs - Syria
This book deals with the historical and architectural development of Krak des chevaliers or Hisn al-Fursan in Homs - Syria, the historical and architectural development. There are indications that the beginnings of fortifying the site of this citadel date back to the reign of Thutmose III. Its place was a castle built by Ramesses II, called Shabtun Castle. However, according to historical and archaeological evidence, it was established in the year (1031 AD) and also became known to Arab historians as Fortress of the Kurds. It was occupied by the Crusaders in 1099 AD, and Raymond I, ruler of the Emirate of Tripoli, in 1142 AD, gave it to the Hospitaller military monks. It was called the Castle of the Knights, as was Al-Zahir Baybars (1171 AD) and Sultan Qalawun (1285 AD).The book aims to conduct an analytical study of the architectural elements of Al-Hosn Citadel in Homs to highlight the historical stages that the citadel went through and the Seljuk, Crusader, and Mamluk renovations, following the descriptive and analytical approaches to identify the architectural elements for each of the historical periods that the citadel went through.

Ovartaci
Ovartaci (Louis Marcussen) (1894-1985) is one of the most enthralling Danish artists of the 20th century. Ovartaci lived at a mental institution from 1929 and to the end of his life. In 1979 his work was presented at the exhibition "Outsiders" at Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Denmark, alongside Adolf Wolfi and others. Ovartaci worked with papier-mache dolls, magical smoking devices, mechanical objects, with large-scale decoration, on walls and curtains, as well as on the smallest of objects, and he did traditional painting. Ovartaci's objects and paintings mixes with his personal insights and fantasies to form a swirl of visions. The oeuvre is not only a work of art, but something more. Ovartaci stands for an agitated aesthetic sensibility. "I have been one hell of a fantasist", he stated late in his life. Ovartaci. The Master Madman explores the universe of Ovartaci and analyses the trauma, beauty, and strength of his work and the way he invented a life for himself through art. As the author of both the paintings and the narrative, I find that some of my own story is intertwined within this book. Each painting is accompanied by a story. Although each painting really stands alone; you will notice that they portray what appears to be the same young woman in varying difficult circumstances. The young woman's identity is a mystery, but you may find that you can easily insert your name into her life experiences. Life can be very hard at times. I expect everyone can testify to that! My hope, however, is that as you ride the waves and walk the narrow twisting paths of the sometimes desperate situations of life, that you too can lift up your eyes and find a place of shelter, strength and victory.
