Exercise dependence among sports enthusiasts
Physical activity, although beneficial to health, can become excessive and lead to exercise dependence (DEP), an addictive behavioral disorder with deleterious consequences. The aim of our study was to assess the risk of PED among sports enthusiasts, as well as the associated factors.A descriptive and analytical study was carried out on 125 gym-goers, using an anonymous online questionnaire. To assess PED, we used the Exercise Addiction Inventory (EAI).The mean EAI score was 19.51簣4.4, revealing that 19% of the population was at risk of PED. The effects of visibility and invisibility on people with HIV/AIDS
Given the importance of adherence to treatment for survival, and considering the stigma associated with the condition of people living with HIV/AIDS compromises not only their quality of life, but also the quality of health care. The general aim of this research was to analyze the effects of the subjective processes of visibility and invisibility on HIV-positive people. The methodology was a qualitative investigation using individual semi-structured interviews and focus groups in two segments: a public health institution and an NGO. The results show that the subjective effects of HIV/AIDS visibility/invisibility compromise treatment, adherence and patients' way of life. It is necessary to qualify care by taking into account the subjective aspects, both individual and social, associated with living with HIV/AIDS. It is hoped that this study will help raise awareness among public authorities and psychology professionals of the importance of their participation in the care process, in order to guarantee an improvement in the quality of life of people living with HIV/AIDS.
Psychosocial Approach to Cancer Care
Palliative care focuses on relief from physical symptoms as well as from emotional, social, and spiritual distress. The book promotes the importance of integrating psychosocial theories into standard palliative care to improve the quality of life of patients and carers. Current evidence suggests that palliative care improves patients' symptoms and quality of life, augments family satisfaction with caregiving, reduces excessive hospital admissions and costs and provides greater alignment of medical care with the patient's needs and goals. Recent efforts in oncology have sought to extend palliative care to a broader range of cancer care, including the promotion of early referral to palliative care. The integration of psychosocial spiritual approaches provides a role for hope in the process of providing palliative care. The result is an integrative model that adds three critical components to the standard model of palliative care: (1) the juxtaposition of control and uncertainty; (2) the dynamics of matching need and provision of support; and (3) the qualities of hope in the context of palliative care.

This work is part of a final year project carried out and defended at the Central University of Paramedical Sciences in Tunisia. It deals with the subject of pregnancy in mentally ill women.We found that 30% had no medical follow-up at all, 59% had irregular quality of follow-up, 34% had irregular compliance with medication, 40% of spouses were not sympathetic to their partners' disorders, 47% had difficulty accessing psychiatric care, 27% felt stigmatized during gynecological/obstetrical follow-up, 64% had received no preparation for pregnancy and motherhood, 50% described their family environment as debilitating, and 32% described the absence of a mental health professional during pregnancy follow-up.These challenges associated with a mother-to-be's mental disorder necessitate the presence of comprehensive support for the mother, addressing both mental health, medical and social support needs to promote healthy development of the child.

The impact of alcoholism on the family
The subject of alcoholism itself has been well studied by researchers over the last thirty years, yet its consumption doesn't seem to be decreasing; in fact, alcohol abuse has grown by 31.1 per cent in Brazil over the last six years (LENAD, 2013). At first glance, the conclusion reached by the survey doesn't seem to make sense with so much research revealing the harmful effects of alcohol on individuals. In view of this contradiction, many researchers are currently trying to understand what social and psychological issues may be involved in the development of a potential alcoholic. The choice of this specification, the family relationships of a dependent individual, is due to a study by Chassin, Rogosch & Barrera (1991) which concluded that children of alcoholics are four to six times more likely than the general population to develop problems with alcohol abuse. Boarding school
This volume is the result of research for a Master's Degree in Family in Contemporary Society completed at the Catholic University of Salvador, Bahia, Brazil in 2007. Although controversial, boarding school education has left its mark on contemporary educational systems and has still been maintained by private, confessional institutions and public initiatives for semi-boarding schools or comprehensive education. Vulnerability to Stress at Work
Stress at work is a subject of growing interest in the organizational world due to the deleterious consequences it has on the health and performance of employees, as well as causing damage to corporate business. The aim of this study was to assess vulnerability to work-related stress in telemarketers using the factors Organizational Climate and Functioning, Pressure at Work, Infrastructure and Routine and the General Scale, and the possible relationships with socio-occupational factors such as gender, age, marital status, education, experience and type of telemarketing. The Vulnerability to Stress at Work Scale (EVENT) and a socio-occupational questionnaire were used. The sample consisted of 201 telemarketers from a company located in the interior of the state of S瓊o Paulo.
The contribution of CBT to separation anxiety in prepubertal children
Introduction: Separation anxiety disorder (SAD) frequently affects prepubertal children and can have negative effects on their lives. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is essential for treating SAD, involving graded exposure and cognitive restructuring with parents. This study illustrates the clinical application of CBT.Methods: This study describes the CBT management of a 10-year-old girl with SAD at Mongi Slim Hospital (Tunis). Objectives included in vivo exposure, relaxation and readjustment of separation-related thoughts. The intervention aimed to reduce anxiety and reinforce the child's autonomy, with anxiety assessed before and after therapy.Results: Therapy reduced anxiety and improved the child's autonomy, enabling him to better manage separations and participate in social activities. Cognitive restructuring was necessary to address his excessive fears. Follow-up was suggested to maintain progress.Conclusion: CBT is an effective approach to treating SAD in children, as confirmed by recent literature.
