The Subconscious Christ
What if Jesus' healings worked not by demanding belief, but by speaking to the place beneath it?The Gospels are full of hinge-moments-"Be clean," "Rise," "Your faith has made you well." But what if these scenes are not magic, and not merely metaphor? What if they reveal something about how human beings actually change-how shame loosens, how permission opens, how a person becomes safe enough to receive? The Subconscious Christ reads the healing stories with fresh eyes-tracking the repeated pairing of trust and touch, speech and atmosphere, authority and permission. Again and again, the stories stage change beside a quiet shift in the inner verdict a person carries: Am I safe? Am I wanted? Am I allowed to receive? This book refuses the two reductions that harm people most: it will not turn Jesus into a technique, and it will not reduce mercy to "just psychology." It reads the texts closely, compares vocabularies carefully, and keeps mystery intact-using modern language only where it helps (expectation response, implicit memory, the body's felt sense of safety and threat) and never as a new way to grade suffering. If you've ever been wounded by "your faith" used as a test-by prosperity logic, by technique-driven spirituality, by the quiet cruelty of being told you didn't believe enough-this book offers a different kind of companionship: one that protects the suffering while honoring the mercy at the heart of the Gospel scenes.Inside you'll find: Close, story-forward readings of Jesus' healing encounters-without hype and without flattening them into formulasA clear, humane lens for how meaning, trust, and atmosphere shape what a person can bear and receiveEthical guardrails that keep spiritual language from becoming pressure, blame, or spectacleA way of holding mystery honestly-without selling it, and without explaining suffering awayYou will not find: Steps for forcing outcomesCommands to "believe harder"Explanations that make non-change your faultAny invitation to delay needed medical or professional careThis is not a book about how to make healing happen. It is a book about how to notice what the stories keep showing-and how to hold that noticing without turning it into a weapon. Not how to control outcomes, but how to become a person-and a room-where mercy can be received without being earned. You are not a verdict. You are still a person.

Blueprints of Twin Flames
Stop the Drama. Start the Mission. For decades, the "Twin Flame" journey has been described as a rollercoaster of running, chasing, and intense emotional pain. Whether you are currently together or navigating the Monadic Veto, this book will help you see your connection "from above."Step out of the old story. Master the Blueprint. Land in the New Era.
The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali The Book of the Spiritual Man
The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali: The Book of the Spiritual Man is one of the foundational texts of classical yoga philosophy. Johnston's commentary illuminates the psychological and spiritual depth of the text, making its ancient wisdom accessible to modern readers. This book serves both as a philosophical guide and a practical manual for meditation, ethical living, and spiritual realization, and is essential reading for students of yoga, Eastern philosophy, and the science of consciousness.

Bunyan Characters- First Series
Bunyan characters: First series being lectures delivered In St. George's Free Church Edinburgh examines the inner struggles and moral growth of individuals through a series of reflections on well-known figures from a classic spiritual narrative. The book explores how personal integrity and moral strength are shaped not by outward behavior, but by the intentions, choices, and convictions that arise within. It presents the idea that character is formed through constant decision making, where individuals must confront doubt, determination, hesitation, and the desire for transformation. Each reflection shows how human nature moves between resistance and progress, revealing how ordinary experiences can influence spiritual direction. The text suggests that persistence, self-awareness, and sincerity guide a person toward greater purpose. Rather than focusing solely on right or wrong, the work emphasizes the continual shaping of the inner self and how one's journey reflects deeper values. The guide acts as both interpretation and invitation, encouraging readers to see moral growth as an ongoing path defined by reflection, discipline, and personal responsibility.

History Of The Catholic Church
History of the Catholic Church: From the renaissance to the French revolution Volume I presents an account of how the institution adapted to sweeping shifts in thought, culture, and political power across a period defined by profound transformation. The narrative examines how emerging ideas of human reason and individual inquiry began to challenge long held structures, creating friction between evolving worldviews and traditional doctrine. It highlights how intellectual movements and expanding secular interests influenced religious practices, reshaped debates about authority, and pushed the Church to confront questions of identity and influence. The opening sections emphasize the growing divide between classical learning and established philosophical systems, illustrating how these competing currents signaled the arrival of a more modern mindset. Through an exploration of changing beliefs, expanding political tensions, and shifting social priorities, the work underscores the complexity of guiding a longstanding institution through an era marked by conflict and renewal. The result is a study of how adaptation, resistance, and reflection shaped one of the most significant periods in the Church's history.

A Catholic Response to the Jehovah's Witnesses
"A Catholic Response to the Jehovah's Witnesses" is a departure from the author's usual subject of books and articles on subjects of Catholic Spirituality. Having met many Witnesses over the years, she was prompted to write the book as a response to them. It also addresses the concern many Catholics have as to how to engage with Witnesses and how they might evaluate their teachings. It is written in an informal style to introduce readers to the various aspects of the doctrines of the Jehovah's Witnesses, and how a Catholic might respond to them from their own tradition and the theology of the Catholic Church. It is also a useful handbook for catechists as she explains clearly the various aspects of Catholic theology.
The Irish Race In The Past And The Present
The Irish race in the past and the present presents a reflective examination of how a people's identity is shaped through long patterns of endurance, cultural continuity, and spiritual commitment. The narrative begins by considering how national character emerges from historical experience, using this lens to highlight the distinctiveness associated with the Irish. It emphasizes the persistence of a unified cultural and religious identity despite sustained hardship and repeated challenges from external forces. Through references to conflicts with various invading groups and prolonged struggles for autonomy, the account underscores how resilience becomes a defining feature. The work also considers the significance of maintaining long-held beliefs in the face of shifting political and social pressures, framing this as a central element of the community's individuality. By connecting past events to broader reflections on heritage, it offers a panoramic view of how a collective spirit can remain intact across generations. The opening signals a deeper exploration of history, cultural expression, and the enduring qualities that contribute to a strong and memorable national presence.
The Crown Of Thorns
The crown of thorns: A token for the sorrowing explores the experience of suffering and the search for inner strength through reflective religious discourse. The book combines meditative insights with compassionate guidance, using moments of personal grief to show how sorrow can deepen understanding and expand emotional resilience. It emphasizes how individuals often try to preserve joyful moments, longing for stability in a world defined by change, yet growth emerges from accepting life's trials rather than resisting them. The work encourages readers to recognize the transformative potential of hardship, suggesting that endurance, reflection, and spiritual grounding can shape a more meaningful path forward. It highlights the quiet strength found in confronting emotional pain and frames sorrow as a catalyst for inner renewal rather than a burden without purpose. Through its contemplative approach, the book offers a message of comfort, urging readers to move beyond temporary refuge and embrace a deeper journey shaped by perseverance, hope, and a broadened understanding of the human spirit.
Religions Of Ancient China
Religions of ancient China provides a detailed exploration of the spiritual and philosophical traditions that shaped early Chinese civilization. The book begins by examining foundational monotheistic beliefs, highlighting reverence for a singular divine presence and the natural world, which inspired practices such as sacrifices and ancestral veneration. It then traces the emergence of Confucianism, emphasizing moral guidance, social harmony, and ethical living over supernatural concerns. The narrative further explores the rise and integration of Taoist and Buddhist thought, showing how these systems influenced and intertwined with earlier religious practices. Through careful analysis, the work illustrates how ritual, philosophy, and belief evolved in response to cultural, political, and social developments, providing continuity while allowing adaptation and synthesis. Early sections present a framework for understanding the interplay between doctrine and daily life, revealing the dynamic nature of spiritual expression and the ways communities negotiated morality, devotion, and cosmology. Giles' account offers a coherent vision of ancient Chinese religion as a living, evolving tradition that balances tradition with innovation.

Islam and Christian Faith
"Islam and Christian Faith" is written for Christians who desire to understand Muslims better and are trying to find opportunities to get informed about practices for evangelism and missions. Muslim migration to Western countries has increased during the previous century. Their interactions with Christians have broadened the understanding of Islam. Christians were asking questions such as, What is Islam teaching? Is Islam simply a sect of Christianity? What draws people to Islam? How do we respond to Islam's arguments against Christian beliefs? How can we encourage Muslims to have peace with God? What to say with respect to a Muslim that it is not a bad idea to accept Christ? This book discusses the best practices used by Christian missionaries over more than two decades, illustrated with real-life testimonies. The author holds an MA in theology, has been a missionary in West Africa for over seven years, and has given courses about direct evangelism with practical exercises. This book is not an attack against Muslims or their beliefs but aims to promote an informed, compassionate, and open dialogue. There is attention for the attraction of Islam. This book aims to correct not only unfavorable opinions about Christianity but also those against Islam. This approach challenges the reader to have a sharper impression about Islam and the Christian faith. The content offers a journey from the origins of Islam to the understanding of Jesus' role in the Christian faith. It begins with a concise summary of Muhammad's life. There is attention to the main events of his life and his sayings in Islamic documents. We will evaluate the Muslim claims of Muhammad in the Bible. An overview will be given to explain the position of Muhammad in the life of a Muslim and the thoughts that non-Muslims have about him. An examination will be given of Islam's holy book, the Qur'an. Its origin comes first, then a comparison between God in the Qur'an and the Bible. We will address some challenges in the Qur'an and examine the status of women. Furthermore, there is an introduction to specific topics of the religion of Islam, including an overview of the fundamental beliefs and practices. Thereafter, we will look at spiritual practices in Islam and how Muslims live in society. Next, we begin the Christian section, addressing numerous critical comments from Muslims. We will address the challenges Muslims face with the Bible and draw a comparison between Islam's holy book and the Bible. The claims about corruption of the Bible will be reviewed. Then we continue with an introduction to Jesus Christ. We will look at how Jesus is described in the Qur'an. There is a brief summary of the significant occurrences and characteristics of Jesus from the perspective of living faith, such as his divinity and humbleness. We evaluate the difficulties Muslims face regarding the ugly end of Jesus' earthly life. Finally, there is an attempt to provide reasonable arguments for Christian faith. It analyses the complexity of one's inner life and explores strategies for overcoming life's challenges. The perspective will be evaluated regarding the Christian faith as an alternative to Islam. The Christian faith perspective on many topics has been compared to the view Muslims have, using chapters and verses from the two holy books and other relevant documentation. The presented balanced view of both religions makes the book fascinating and inspires and encourages people to find their final destiny with God's peace. "Islam and Christian Faith" Is a must-read book for Evangelism and Missions. It is a timely book to study for effective Evangelism Manual in the 21st Century for the students of the Bible and Pastors in Ministry. Rev. Issahaku Wumbei, Choggu Assemblies of God Church, Tamale, Ghana.

Ted Alan Studebaker
Ted Studebaker, a true peace hero, worked for peace through nonviolence. By doing so, he left a peacemaking legacy that continues to impact mankind through the ages. He was a volunteer agriculturalist in the highlands of Vietnam during the war. As he began his third year of work, he married the love of his life, Pakdy, a Chinese coworker. One week after their marriage, Vietnamese forces, opposing the Americans, entered their house where they killed him. Ted was fully prepared and armed with confidence for the work that God had set before him. He was totally committed to give of himself without reservation. Ted gratefully acknowledged his government's position of accepting alternative service to serve mankind as opposed to military service. He wrote to his draft board, "I don't feel unpatriotic or disloyal to my country. However, I do think there are certain rights, beliefs, and values to which one should be more devoted to than his country if he has arrived at them through conscientious thought, learning and experience." Ted was aware of the opposition he would face for his peacemaking stand, yet he was true to his beliefs. In doing so, he remains an enduring force for peace.

The Mirror, the Mask, and the Masterpiece
Till We Have Faces by C. S. Lewis has been described as the most controversial of Lewis's fiction--despised by some and celebrated by others. Yet Lewis himself regarded the novel as "far and away the best [book] I have written." What are we to make of this strange and oftentimes dark retelling of the pagan myth of Cupid and Psyche? In this new guide, renowned philosopher and writer Peter Kreeft introduces readers to the style, setting, and characters of Lewis's novel; walks through ten philosophical and theological themes that permeate it, including the problem of evil, the question of identity, and the relationship between faith and reason; and, finally, shows how these various themes animate the drama of the narrative itself. The result is a deepened appreciation and understanding of a true masterpiece, one that offers not only wisdom, which is the end of all philosophy, but also wonder, which is its beginning.

Patristics
Patristics, or the focused study of the Fathers and Mothers of the ancient Christian churches, is a well-established discipline within the wider fields of Historical Theology, the History of Religion, the History of Late Antiquity, and Studies in Religion. It has garnered remarkable international engagement, and over the last fifty years, scholars from Australia have played an increasingly important role in its expanding development. This Special Issue of Religions serves to exemplify the current involvement and future potential of Australian researchers in this knowledge domain, displaying the fresh insights they bring from their diverse ethnic backgrounds and language skills, as well as additional expertise across various fields of study. Proper recognition of the Australian contribution is long overdue, and at this particular point in time, the array of scholars collaborating in the highly multicultural State of New South Wales deserves the attention that the following collection offers. This Special Issue covers all the major aspects of Patristic Study, highlighting the diversity of specialist interests and gender perspectives involved in shaping its Australian landscape. The topics span key ideas and doctrines, archaeology, expositions, translations, apologists, and missionaries. They also include subjects ranging from orthodoxy to heresy and Gnosticism, socio-religious theory to imperial rulership, and ancient monastic or ascetic institutions to modern instruments of pedagogy and dialogue.
Explorations in the Anthropology of Religion
This Festschrift is dedicated to Prof. Dr. J. van Baal on the occasion of his retirement from the chair of cultural anthropology at the University of Utrecht. The essays presented here are written by fellow scholars in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the field of anthropology. In order to arrange the papers araund a theme that has never ceased to fascinate van Baal, we have asked the contributors to concentrate on a rel- igious subject. Within this broad area no specific topics have been solicit- ed, and the authors-- mainly fellow anthropologists and students of relig- ion-- have been able to pursue their own personal interests in the articles. Nevertheless, when the papers were collected, we found it possible to group them under three headings, each of which represents a facet of -1an Baal's enduring interests. Of course, some overlap is inevitable, as it is in any categorisation of heterogeneaus items. The topics of the three sections by no means represent an exhaustive inventory of all fields van Baal has successfully explored. The focus on religion necessarily leaves out many problems van Baal has actively occ- ied hirnself with during his many-sided career. Thus the academic stance of the Festschrift in no way pays tribute to his prolonged concern with admi.

Hot Story
What happens when a man who refuses to forgive is forced to confront his own need for forgiveness?Hot Story: A Story in a Story is a thought-provoking Christian stage play that blends humor, workplace drama, and powerful biblical truth into a compelling story of redemption. Set inside a busy newsroom, tensions rise as journalists compete for headlines, argue over politics, and clash over matters of faith. But beneath the everyday banter lies something deeper.Israel Parker is a talented journalist with a temper he struggles to control. Haunted by his father's criminal past and broken promises of apology, Israel rejects the idea of true repentance and forgiveness. When assigned to cover a gas station robbery trial-a crime painfully similar to his father's-his anger surfaces in ways he cannot ignore.Meanwhile, outspoken coworker Connie boldly proclaims the name of Jesus at every opportunity, often pushing too hard. But it is Lucy, calm and steady in her faith, who gently leads Israel through Scripture and challenges him with life's most important question: What will you do with the truth once you find it?Through humor, newsroom conflict, and biblical dialogue drawn directly from passages such as Romans, John, Mark, and 1 John, this play explores sin, grace, inherited brokenness, and the transforming power of Christ. As Israel wrestles with his past, his pride, and his need for forgiveness, readers are invited to examine their own hearts.Perfect for churches, small groups, Christian schools, and readers who enjoy faith-driven storytelling, Hot Story delivers a clear message of hope: where sin abounds, grace abounds much more. Will Israel repeat his father's mistakes-or will he choose a different legacy? The decision is his. And perhaps, yours as well.
Willowend
Life in the small town of Willowend has not returned to what it once was. Neither has the church. In the months following a season of quiet renewal, Pastor Caleb and the Willowend Baptist congregation are learning how to live with change that cannot be controlled or neatly explained. As faith deepens and new gifts begin to emerge, the church grows not only in number but also maturity - bringing with it caution, many questions, and the challenge of learning how to remain faithful without rushing ahead. As ordinary people learn how to pray honestly, listen carefully, and remain open to one another, Willowend slowly discovers that renewal is sustained not by excitement, but by endurance.Willowend: The Journey Continues is a gentle, honest, and deeply pastoral story of faith that learns to stay, courage that grows quietly, and the steady work of God in places the world often overlooks.
Principle of Believing in One God
"Do you believe in one God? This is good; however, does this mean that you believe in the God of Moses? The God of Moses defines Himself and says, 'I am Who I am.' Let us find out together if you accept the God of Moses, who spoke to Moses face to face and mouth to mouth, even plainly."
I Am
Bread, light, a gate, a vine, and the way are fairly unconventional ways to describe yourself and yet they are some of the most profound and accurate descriptors the Lord Jesus uses to describe Himself. This book explores the seven 'I am' statements found in the Gospel of John, plus another nine occasions where the words 'I am' are spoken. We examine why these declarations are a lifeline for those who believe in Christ, giving some fresh insight into what Jesus meant when He said: 'I AM.'
Perception and Processing of Address Terms
In many languages, speakers have a choice between a formal and an informal form when addressing others. The choice between these forms depends on several factors such as age, gender, education level, religion, social distance, individual preferences, etc. To date, little research has been conducted into how the use of a formal or informal form is processed by those to whom it is addressed. It is generally believed that people who are addressed with a pronoun they perceive as inappropriate in a given context may feel uncomfortable or even offended. Notoriously, informal pronouns prevail on social media, both for individuals and companies, but whether a formal or informal form of address is perceived as positive or negative may depend on the context of use. For example, in personal communication between companies and customers, some customers may prefer to be addressed with their formal rather than their informal pronoun, while at the same time, consumers may value the informal pronoun more than the formal pronoun in product advertisements. This Reprint provides new insights on how the use of a formal or informal form of address may affect the addressee.
Religion and Planetary Climate Crisis
No religious production has ever happened on a planet with 425+ ppm CO2 such that rapid climate change is the evolutionary and biogeochemical carrier within which all future religious production will by definition occur. This Reprint investigates how various theological positions may be responding to imminent climate regime shifts and how the sociology of religion may inform readers on how human groups are (or are not) using religion to organize around climate change. It explores how some religious actors are influencing cultural and social discourses around rapid climate change and dwelling practices within shifting bioecologies of place, including at the interfaces of technology and religion and of sustainability and religion, and how scholars should even conceive of the category of "religion" and how to teach to this category. Concepts of religious health within religious communities who may (or may not) be responding to the negative health impacts of runaway climate change and how religious ethics may (or may not) be changing to address the normative elements of runaway climate chaos are also investigated. Such scholarship occurs within the larger theme of the Reprint of Religion and Planetary Climate Crisis, where this crisis is understood to be biogeochemical, especially in geological time frames, but also political, economic, technological, ethical, and, therefore, biocultural. This opens up the need for humanities scholars to rapidly address rapid global heating in their research and teaching, and, thus, the requirement for the field of religious studies/theology to rapidly do the same.
Ten Days with Yehushueh
Ten Days with Yehushueh is a relevant history of religions from the time of Ahdahm to our time.Yehushueh's ministry of 3 years and 5 months that was His earthly work to redeem fallen mankind by His life without sin. The Ten Days that are central to this book was His decision, on the Friday before the Passover week, was followed by His Triumphal Entry on Shabbat. The Christian Tradition is that He celebrated in the Upper Room on Thursday Evening, was arrested and tried and convicted Friday Morning, crucified at nine am, died at 9 pm, into the tomb before sunset Shabbat, and was raised just at dawn Sunday. The Passover week was four days, not the traditional three days. The Jewish tradition was the first of the four days, Tuesday that year, was "The Feast of the First Born," a meal of leavened bread to celebrate they would be covered by the Passover meal the next evening. Yehushueh is the only Son of Yehuah, "a First Born." He ate of the leavened bread, the meal of a sinner. He was arrested, tried, and convicted by early morning Wednesday, executed at nine am, died at 3pm, and was in the tomb while late Wednesday morning before sunset. That Thursday was a "high-day" Shabbat, the Passover evening. Yehushueh was already in the Tomb, so did not partake of the Passover meal of unleavened bread: He died as a sinner because (A) His last meal was of leavened bread, and (B) He was not covered by the Passover meal of unleavened bread. Yehushueh was in the tomb late Wednesday morning, Thursday night and Morning, Friday night and morning, and Shabbat night morning. He was raised just when Shabbat dusk entered the evening of Sunday. In total, three nights and three mornings, three days like Jonah in the belly of the whale.Yehushueh accepted the death of a sinner, yet without sin.Anyone who, by faith, believes in Yehushueh's Finished Work will have eternal life.
Constructing the 'European Muslim Crisis'
This Reprint interrogates the dominant narratives constructing a supposed 'European Muslim crisis'. The collection originates from a Special Issue of the journal Religions and provides a critical, multidisciplinary examination of the discourses, policies, and everyday realities shaping contemporary Muslim life in Europe. The contributing authors systematically contest the dominant depiction of Muslim communities as perpetually in crisis. Instead, the volume explores the active and innovative methods through which Muslims address and counteract oversimplified, generalised representations of their identities and religious practices. The research investigates how individuals and communities navigate their religious affiliations within varied national frameworks of secularism, church-state relations, and multiculturalism. This collection advances beyond singular interpretations of Islam or Muslims; it studies the specific, lived experiences of diverse populations, such as Hazara migrants in Scotland and third-generation Turkish women in The Netherlands, highlighting processes of adaptation, agency, and individualisation. Key themes addressed include the persistent securitisation of Muslim populations, the mechanisms of institutionalised Islamophobia, the dynamics of identity construction amid policies such as the British Values agenda, and the recent political mobilisation of European Muslims in response to geopolitical events. This Reprint provides essential and timely analysis for scholars and policymakers involved in sociology, security studies, criminology, public policy, and Islamic studies.
Unrivaled in Bridging Divisions
The purpose of this book is to reveal why humanity - despite its moral ideals, spiritual traditions, and political promises - remains fractured at its core. Why do systems that claim to establish justice, unity, liberation, or compassion so often result in fear, coercion, uncertainty, and division? And why, across cultures and throughout history, does the human heart continue to long for truth, goodness, compassion, peace, and harmony - realities it cannot generate on its own? Why Jesus is the only one to bridge division.

Rethinking God's Will
Many Christians live with a quiet anxiety about God's will. They want to honour Him, yet fear making the wrong choice, missing His plan, or stepping outside His purposes. Instead of confidence, the search for God's will often produces uncertainty and pressure. This insightful book invites readers to rediscover a clearer, more biblical way forward. Drawing deeply from the Bible, Robert Griffith challenges the idea that God's will is a hidden blueprint which is waiting to be uncovered. He demonstrates instead that God's will is centred on Christ, rooted in relationship, and lived out through faithfulness rather than fear. With pastoral wisdom and a theological clarity, this book offers freedom from anxious discernment and invites believers to rest in God's faithful work. God's will is not something we must chase or decode. It is the gracious reality in which believers already live, as they grow in Christ and walk confidently with Him.
Esoteric Development
This edition brings together an ordered sequence of statements by Steiner on the development of higher, suprasensory knowing -- imagination, inspiration, and intuition. Ten chapters take the reader from the idea of inner development, through the cultural and evolutioary need for higher knowing, to examples of the practices and inner gestures this work requires. Steiner unfolds the necessary steps and stages, always insisting on the free, individual, and cognitive character of anthroposophic spiritual research.
The Secret Doctrine
The Secret Doctrine, Volume III expands upon the profound metaphysical system introduced in the earlier volumes of H. P. Blavatsky's monumental work. Compiled posthumously from Blavatsky's manuscripts and notes, this volume delves deeper into the esoteric interpretations of religion, philosophy, and science that form the foundation of Theosophical thought. In this volume, Blavatsky continues her exploration of cosmic evolution, the origin and destiny of humanity, and the hidden laws governing the universe. She examines ancient myths, sacred texts, and symbolic traditions from Eastern and Western civilizations, revealing their shared esoteric roots. The work emphasizes the unity of all existence and challenges orthodox religious doctrines and purely materialistic scientific explanations.Volume III serves as an essential supplement for readers seeking a more complete understanding of The Secret Doctrine. Dense, scholarly, and richly symbolic, it is intended for serious students of metaphysics, occult philosophy, and spiritual science. This volume reinforces Blavatsky's enduring legacy as one of the most influential figures in modern esoteric thought.
