The reader may wonder why I have called my book 'The Purpose of Our Life on Earth.' The reason is founded on the eternal truths contained in Scripture. In the Book of Deuteronomy, chapter 32, verse 15, written over 3,400 years ago, the Prophet Moses told his people: "The beloved grew fat, and kicked: he grew fat, and thick and gross! He forsook God who made him, and departed from God his saviour." And in verse 29 of the same chapter, he continued: "O that they would be wise and would understand, and would provide for their last end!" These words well describe the modern world in our times. The essays in my book were written over many years.
