This study aims to answer the following problem: Which of the two physical exercise modalities (strength training or aqua aerobics) produces better results, after a six-month longitudinal intervention, in functional fitness, cardiorespiratory fitness, bone mineral density, subjective well-being, body satisfaction and general health perception in elderly women? Due to the large number of dependent variables, our thesis is structured into three studies that will answer the following questions: What is the effect of 6 months of strength training vs. water aerobics on the functional and cardiorespiratory fitness of elderly women; What is the effect of 6 months of strength training vs. water aerobics on the bone mineral density of elderly women and What is the effect of 6 months of strength training vs. water aerobics on the subjective well-being, body satisfaction and general health perception of elderly women?".

The vital points of the body (kyusho) are important in Japanese martial arts. How and where to strike the points (atemi) and the effects of striking them were originally kept secret. However, in the past 100 years, information on these points has become widely available, allowing them to be compared among sources. A 1977 descriptive review of 35 martial arts books identified 226 alleged vital points, most with information on their location, Japanese names, and sometimes with claims of the effects of striking them. Listing the points alphabetically and by source and anatomical location reveals similarities, differences, and probable errors, as well as the degree of agreement of sources for each point. Systemic Arterial Hypertension (SAH) is a multifactorial clinical condition characterised by sustained elevation of blood pressure levels greater than or equal to 140 and/or 90 mmHg. It is usually associated with metabolic disorders, functional and structural alterations of some target organs (heart, kidneys, brain and blood vessels), and is aggravated by the presence of some diseases, such as obesity, dyslipidaemias, diabetes, among others. Physical exercise (PE), which is a form of non-drug treatment, has been shown to be an effective way of combating this pathology, consisting of lifestyle changes and weight control. Strength training (ST) has been one of the options in PE programmes due to the accumulation of studies proving the benefits and safety of its application in patients with SAH, generating a hypotensive effect after PE. However, in order for PE to provide the desired benefits, care must be taken to ensure that the exercise does not generate a high cardiovascular overload. Therefore, the presence of a Physical Education professional specialising in the area is essential, as they have specific knowledge and will know how to modify the variables during training.

The purpose of this research was to generate psycho-pedagogical strategies of conditioned neuro-development oriented to the sport activity of Karate-Do, based on the theories of neuroplasticity, offered by researchers such as Doherty (2023) referred to neuroscience applied to education and sport; also the theory of the zone of proximal development supported among others by Pont籀n (2020), in addition to the theory of conditioned reflexes provided by researchers such as Polanco (2016) on the impact and evolution of behaviorism. This book is the result of a Final Year research project at the State University of Maring獺, in the Physical Education course. With the theme: "Motivation and Quality of Life in Bodybuilding Practitioners", the study aims to analyse the relationship between motivation and quality of life in bodybuilding. A total of 149 bodybuilders from gyms in the city of Maring獺-PR took part in the study. Based on the data collected, it can be concluded that extrinsic motivational factors are essential for the practice of bodybuilding in these subjects, as well as the practice was motivated by a more self-determined behaviour, and this may be related to a better quality of life. As practical implications, this research has potential for physical education professionals who work with bodybuilding, suggesting that they seek to direct their students' goals and encourage pleasurable practical experiences in order to encourage intrinsic motivation factors. Thus, the study is interesting not only for professionals, but also for Physical Education academics, and could open up space for further research in the area.

OptoJump, GymAware and PUSH
In ski racing, jump tests are used to assess performance-determining parameters. In order to obtain precise results, expensive measuring equipment in the laboratory has mainly been relied upon up to now. New, inexpensive, mobile and easy-to-use measuring systems offer the opportunity to determine jump heights in field tests instead of in the laboratory. However, their suitability for performance tests has not yet been sufficiently proven by studiesThis study therefore examined the validity and test-retest reliability of the PUSH and GymAware systems when measuring jump heights in comparison with the OptoJump reference system. In addition, all three systems were tested for their suitability for field tests in ski racing.

Wrestling dates back to ancient times, but it was not until Edmond Desbonnet (1867-1953) produced his groundbreaking work The Kings of Wrestling in 1910 that its history was set down in book-length form.
