The book takes the reader through the highly personal memories of the last 35 years at the club. Gaius describes the players, competitions, and organisation, and much more, in vivid detail. The book includes chapters on re-building the club house, the Artisans, schools section, scratch and first teams. Past and current members will find the book a joy to read. The book also includes several hundred photos taken by Gaius through the ages including players, competitions, events and celebrations. Gaius (also known as Gus) is a retired construction manager based in Hertfordshire. Since joining the Berkhamsted golf club in 1962, Gus has been an avid golfer, and has been involved in every aspect of the club's organisation for over 25 years. He was club captain in 1993, and has led the scratch and school section. Gaius - a category one golfer for over 40 years, currently enjoys as much golf as he can, and still plays off of a handicap of 2 and is loving every minute of it.

It allows one to fight and counter according to the opponent's pressure, rather than fighting from sight. Ghost Hand also incorporates joint locks, throws, and low kicks mostly from the waist down, attacking legs, knees, and feet. There is a lot of qigong work within Ghost Hand forms, making it a true internal/external martial art.

The Fortress
This is Ian Clough's account of the 1977/8 expedition to The Paine mountains in Patagonia. It was published earlier with full colour pictures provided by another member of the expedition, Chris Jackson, but proved rather expensive to publish in full colour. Derek Walker was a great help in my efforts to bring the story to print but sadly died only a week after the first publication so I have produced this less expensive version of the book with only grey-scale picture inserts in memory of Derek who with his wife Hilary were great friends of Ian & Niki.

This book is based mainly on minutes of meetings made available to the author. It is a companion to another effort published under the title Canadian Football 1983-1994: Gone South. An earlier work, Canadian Football: The Grey Cup Years, published in 1969 will also become available soon. Gone South
Canadian Football 1983-1994: Gone South focuses on the CFL's rationale and move to expand to the United States. It details the controversy throughout the League and the country. It leads directly to the next book in this series Home Again. Therein, The Baltimore Stallions and their Grey Cup win of 1995 is documented: the first and only Grey Cup win by an American based team. The Stallions moved the next year to Montreal to become the Alouettes and the American experiment was put to rest, for now. After 1995, there was a return to an all Canadian league. Both books also continue with the trend from amateur to professional and the move towards the revitalization of football in Canada.

In order to understand the application of the techniques within the kata, it is useful to understand the feeling of the kata. One of the problems in learning these secrets is that they are not revealed casually or quickly. Many of the teachers who are able to truly transmit these teachings are located in Japan. Usually imparted within the name, such as Koku (creating space), the student should attempt to capture the underlying concept. Without knowing genri (application) of entering and exiting each Kamae the ability to create henka may be limited.
Mountains My Passion
In this book I describe the climbs that I have made in nine countries over twenty-five years. I started climbing late in life - at age 55 - and I am still climbing in my eightieth year. Summits that I have reached or attempted include Mont Blanc, The Matterhorn, The Eiger, Everest Base Camp, Kilimanjaro, Mount Cook, Mera Peak in Nepal, Aconcagua in Argentina, Mount Ararat in Turkey, Mount Fuji in Japan, Yushan in Taiwan; and La Meije, La Verte, Bionnassay, and many other peaks in the European Alps. Although I am eighty I intend to continue climbing for as long as possible.
