The following is the reproduction of the original manuscript as conveyed to me in a plain manila envelope wrapped in brown shipping paper. Having originally been cautioned about the dangers of unprotected handling of this material, I was warned that the pages of the booklet are coated with an anti-Trump concoction, one that causes the eyes to water, the nose to sneeze, and the skin to itch--but only for President Donald Trump supporters. Despite tearing up, uncontrollable sneezing, and the maddening requirement to scratch that which itches, I have persevered to bring you the following. Please be aware, there is no physical danger to the reader.

In a moment of time, came a special dog that would capture my heart and my soul. Her name is Zoey. I'm about to take her to Costa Rica. This would be the first time that I have ever taken a dog on one of my trips.About a month before we left, I was busy in our garden courtyard doing garden things, when out of the blue, a voice spoke to me! The book is a compilation of 48 Facebook essays written during the stay-at-home confinement ordered by governors around the country to ostensibly help combat the coronavirus pandemic. That's not exactly the way Plinke saw it. His sometimes hysterical, sometimes poignant, sometimes acerbic take on the curious mix of contradictory medical information and Machiavellian political maneuvers offer fertile ground for his bare-to-the-bone, satirical writing style - a smorgasbord of material and inspiration that keeps his readers "thoroughly entertained" while "fully engaged and amused," as one reviewer puts it.All the posts were accompanied by pictures of Plinke in various and sundry poses and costumes to amuse and delight and to help illustrate the theme of each piece. All but one of the pictures were taken with an iPhone, and all props and costumes came from the closet or basement, except for a couple of items bought at Target, a large corporation that sells everything that local, small businesses weren't allowed to sell during the lockdown. As another reviewer describes Plinke's writings, "Witty, thought provoking, and a welcome relief during coronavirus quarantine 2020. I didn't always agree with [him], but he got me thinking about my thinking."In the introduction, Plinke probably sums up best the book's basic message: "There's only one takeaway from all of this: I am the only person left you can trust (and I'm not so sure about me)."

In a moment of time, came a special dog that would capture my heart and my soul. Her name is Zoey. I'm about to take her to Costa Rica. This would be the first time that I have ever taken a dog on one of my trips.About a month before we left, I was busy in our garden courtyard doing garden things, when out of the blue, a voice spoke to me! Over the years I tried and tried and finally gave up. Now God was telling me to write! Which tells me not only did He know my dilemma, He was clearly watching over me! My book is an attempt to share my journey through adversities and healings. Learning that when we choose the glass half full, we gain wisdom! So, it is with humbleness and humiliation that I share my memoir, as requested, with the Grace of God. What a surprise when I next got on the computer and began to write through the eyes of Zoey. The flow was there, the humor was there, and thus began "Conversations With Dog".
