The Tragic Bride
The Tragic Bride is a novel based on a true event which is written by Francis Brett Young. The story of Frances Shea, wife of Reggie Kray, is one of the most tragic stories of the Sixties. Frances was lured into an outwardly glamorous world of nightclubs, expensive clothes, and showbiz parties, but soon discovered the real world of the Kray Twins, where violence, drink, drugs, and terror dominated everything. She broke away and briefly enjoyed other relationships, but Reggie would never let her go. Frances and her family were intricately entwined with the Twins' descent from gangland extortion and cruelty into senseless murder and mayhem by the time she wed Reggie in their 'Wedding of the Year' in 1965. Frances passed away from a heroin overdose two years later. Now, 50 years later, the truth about the life of Frances Shea and her short marriage to Reggie Kray is finally revealed in this novel. This book explodes the myths surrounding the marriage and reveals how the effect of this tragic, doomed relationship haunted the lives of Frances's loved ones right to the end.

You Don't Say
Hodgepodge is a real word. Yet it still doesn't seem dignified enough to belong in a dictionary. However, this book is a hodgepodge of nonfiction, fiction, poetry, humor, horror and a few things you wouldn't expect. The pieces are excerpted from Steve Theme's life and were written between 1979 and 2022. They were never intended as an anthology, yet here they are. Some stories have been previously published nationally, while others are seeing their first light of day.You really should read this book. You'll come away with a wider appreciation for humanity, be more available to others, and smell better.

I am hopeful that reading this book will cause you to reflect, laugh and remember past times and pleasant memories as we share "My View From The Porch."
A Tryst with PARIS
At 18, Maret's life turned into a nightmare there was no waking up from. Suddenly a single teenaged mother with no education, the only way she can get through each day is to dream of one day living in Paris. This "impossible dream" propels her toward a beautiful future and away from her life of poverty and fear. Decades later, her children grown, her business successful, she packs her bags, and moves to Paris. Following in Hemingway's footsteps, she screws up her courage and starts a new life as a writer. Despite having all her notes and feeling ready to write a book about famous dead feminists haunting an apartment in Paris, she realizes she can't make the book come alive. Defeated, she seeks distraction and tries online dating. That's when Paris "throws a book" at her. Maret takes us with her as she dates an eccentric Count, a "stallion" who once worked at a sex club, and a German novelist who, she discovers, has an unfortunate passion. Exposing the underbelly as well as the glamor and beauty of the City of Lights, A Tryst with Paris takes us places most of us can't even imagine. Along the way we discover that dreams really can come true but rarely in the form we had envisioned.
Teaching
Fourteen years in teaching and I still find myself sitting back at times and reaffirming to myself that yes, that did just happen.Who is this book for? First, it's for anyone considering or about to start teaching. I applaud you! I hope you can learn a thing or two from my trials and tribulations. Second, it's for anyone who has already been teaching for a while. If this is the case, I have one thing to say: You are a star! Sometimes we just need to sit back, have a good laugh, and remind ourselves that these crazy things really did (and continue to) happen! Finally, it's for anyone outside of the teaching realm who wonders what actually goes on in the day-to-day life of a teacher. Let me tell you, though, these stories are only the tip of the iceberg. They have nowhere near done the profession justice.
When Hate Took Over
Editorial cartoonist Paul Jamiol's fourth book of political cartoons represents his take on the world and on those in that world who should be scrutinized a little closer for their words and deeds. Upheaval, divisiveness, and a new Administration were hallmarks of the years 2017-2019 in which Americans were affected profoundly. This book is Jamiol's recording of that period in a selection of 150 cartoons. Jamiol's pursuit of honesty is relentless. "We need to care about our fellow Americans, not denigrate them or beat them down, and if that's happening, we need to bring it out into the light."Like all his books, this collection strives to be a truthful recording of the rising tide of spin from the White House occupant, his ilk, and the Right-wing media revisionists who want to "slide things past" the American people. These falsehoods come in waves that never seems to stop. They try to penetrate the American consciousness, hoping lies will be accepted as the truth. Hopefully this book of cartoons will turn the tide and hold some waves back so Jamiol's non-revisionist telling of events might also be heard. This book won't change your perception of the world. It will only show you how Jamiol perceives the world. Whether you agree with his handling of an issue, you will be captivated by his creativity, poignancy, toughness, and honesty. It targets readers interested in politics, issues, a cartoonist's take on the world, or are just curious about our changing political landscape. Visual commentary can highlight an issue more clearly than the written word.
Dominic Holland Takes on Life Vol.2
Essential reading for anyone who wants to feel happier. A self-help book with laughs and finally, one which readers will finish. This is a bold claim, but Holland has a good track record in making people laugh. He has an equal pedigree in making errors and since our most valuable life lessons herald from our mistakes, he is a man with much wisdom to share.31 easy-to-read essays on his life and yours, although his life is not so normal. At the very least, it is unusual. He has more children than is probably sensible and his family life creates somewhat unique circumstances. Meanwhile, trouble seems to find him. He has a knack for getting things wrong and an unerring ability to find awkwardness in almost any situation. In this volume, he fearlessly relives his childhood blighted by a disease that might have killed him (if he'd had it). A sales career derailed by an errant bowel movement and a comedy career blown off course by a leg of lamb. A vast array of mishaps and incidents providing fertile pickings for the second volume of this life changing series of books. In these febrile times, this is a book that everyone needs. A book shining a light on the wonder of the human spirit and a book with the power to heal. These essays will make you smile, possibly laugh, and frequently think. But most importantly, they will make you realise that your life could be worse. Much worse. And despite his tribulations, Holland continues to strive. Properly old now, he is rapidly balding, becoming ever shorter and is now troubled by his hips. But his vision continues to confound the aging process. His keen eye for the absurd is even more acute and allows him to write a book of such insight and verve.A book written for the smallest room in the house because it has the power to move.In case you have not worked it out already, Holland is highly delusional. A quintessential example of a glass half full type. Holland is aware of this and yet he still fervently believes in every word written above.

How Do I Un-Remember This?
Instant New York Times BestsellerFrom the host of Everything Iconic with Danny Pellegrino comes a collection of stories you'll be glad didn't happen to you.Think of the most embarrassing thing that's ever happened to you. Was it the time your high school cheer squad taunted you in front of the entire town? Was it the time your best friend's mom caught you streaking in all your naked, self-conscious glory? What about the time you accidentally threw a tooth at your dry cleaner or took an urn into Kohl's for some holiday shopping? For Danny Pellegrino, the answer is all of the above.Growing up as a closeted gay kid in small-town Ohio wasn't easy, and Danny has the stories to prove it. But coming of age in the 90s still meant something magical to Danny. The music, film, and celebrity moments of his youth were truly iconic, and his love for all things pop culture connected him to a world larger than the one he knew in the suburban Midwest. And through all the pains of growing up, Danny could always look to that world for hope--whether that meant bingeing The Nanny until he had the confidence of Fran Fine, belting out Brandy songs until his heartaches were healed, or watching semi-clothed Ryan Phillippe scenes until his cheeks burned from blushing. With refreshing honesty and jaw-dropping absurdity, Danny invites readers to experience his most formative moments in life--from his hometown in Ohio to his hit podcast and career in entertainment today. How Do I Un-Remember This? is an unfiltered and all-too-relatable glimpse into Danny's life and the heartfelt and hilarious moments that shaped it. Although he wouldn't change them for the world, these stories are--unfortunately--true.

All About Spoonerisms
During my many years of traveling all around This Great America, I would rent a car to visit potential building sites, meeting with all the relevant necessary parties needed for a potential business location and doing so see interesting signage. My job often allowed me a travelling companion either from the company or a local form the area to show me around the town. We would laugh as I read signs all using "Spoonerisms". This became a hobby that made the drives more enjoyably spent laughing. I wrote sign messages on scraps of paper collecting them in my travel case. Adding year after year to my Spoonerism collection. This is a small book to carry in the glove box, etc, for the family to read and laugh during a car, train, or plane trip. This has been my dream.

The Real-Life Mystery of Shakespeare's Lost Years
The Real-Life Mystery of William Shakespeare starts out in the year 1588 and moves forward and backward as it tries to solve the mystery of Shakespeare's whereabouts. It is thoroughly enjoyable, incredibly informative, and a well-researched book about William Shakespeare's lost years. If you thought you knew everything there is to know about Shakespeare, then you will enjoy this book. It is full of fresh thoughts and creative ideas. For example, why does the book start off in the year 1588? What happened then that was so critical to knowing about Shakespeare? You will find out. The summaries at the end of each chapter are incredibly helpful, and I can see students working on projects finding them to be very useful. The humor present throughout the work makes it a really enjoyable read. Why Another Book on Shakespeare? Isn't He a Bit Over-rated?Sometimes you will hear students say, "Shakespeare is overrated" or "Why can't the words be put into modern English?" Yet, most likely, students have also heard about the Italian renaissance. They might know Leonardo da Vinci, Galileo, Michelangelo, Titian, and Raphael. They were all part of the Italian Renaissance that happened in Europe between the years 1300 and 1600. The word "renaissance" means "rebirth" so between the years 1300 to 1600 a new way of thinking about the world replaced the old one. Question: why wasn't anyone from England a part of the renaissance? Answer: One Englishman actually DID travel to Italy in the late 1500's. Believe it or not, this man spoke fluent Italian and lived in Italy for over a year. He experienced the Italian renaissance first-hand and even stayed at the house of the painter Titian for two weeks. He wrote at least 13 plays that take place in Italy and changed the vocabulary of English with many Italian words. For example, he changed the Italian word "bandito" into the English "bandit".And when you listen to the old English in Shakespeare's plays, it all seems authentic. The words of his characters ring true. Watching Shakespeare's plays you can almost imagine what it must have been like to have lived in Italy during the time of the Renaissance. For this reason, knowing more about the "real" William Shakespeare and where he went during his "lost" years is important. But for over 400 years, his whereabouts have remained a mystery -- that is, until now!
