There are plenty of other catastrophes in this brave new millennial world, like mail-in elections, Critical Race Theory, Resurrections, Missing children, Russia, China, North Korea (still), more zombie escapades to eat up, pics from a nostalgic past and the questionable future. New in this book is Uncle Don's Picture People, performing in several comic stories including a 40 page comic entitled, "Alice in Washington"- Lots of fun and adventure. Also unique to this 4th book of Uncle Don is 2 TV reboots told in 60 pages each.... Gilligan's Island & I Dream of Jeannie. The daughter of Gilligan's Island creator Sherwood Schwartz did not approve, so you know it's got to be good. The book ends with I Dream of Jeannie, written as Sidney Sheldon intended. Life Seemed Good, But....
Bell began crafting tiny stories in 2004 during a difficult time in life, creating characters worse off than he was. What began as therapy years later continued as a monthly column for a bar magazine that ran for a decade. With a word limit in place, each piece had to be short and to the point. The common theme to each story is that life seemed good, then it all derailed sideways. Add some dark humor, a touch of the surreal, and Bell takes the chaos and forces it to look normal, turning the derailment into something funny, or even worse. As a psychological profile, it's comparable to other artists who dive straight into the subconscious and don't explain how it happened. The stories are woven with cultural trivia, movie nods, and literary quotes-Easter eggs for those who look deeper. Characters range from living food items to sentient animals, the undead to ordinary but strange people, and a short, romantic firefly take on the French Revolution to a parody of Dickens' A Christmas Carol. The author himself muddles through first-person misadventures with tinfoil headgear, laser beams, and kitchen magnets. By the end, even Santa gets weird. Everything twists and tangles within the confines of the Mystee Forest. The book is for anyone who's supported someone through a serious illness or simply navigated the ups and downs of life, anchored in the belief that laughter is good medicine. You might even find yourself reflected in a story. One reviewer called it "shockingly amazing." If you have read thus far, some sites are still sending out older paperback versions (a possible collector's item someday).

Each Act is punctuated by Shakespeare plays adapted for lockdown with dialogue on zoom, dramatically shortened.n Act 3 (Prevention), a triumphal "Song of Idiotic Prejudice" makes clear "Our System, our system, our system is best" as MPs undertake Silly Walks around Parliament, teachers are asked to be Heroes., and we are all asked to "Man Up, Mask Up, Protect Another Life" with tips on preventing a "Second Wave", but an easing of restrictions allows golf to resume with recollections of golfing under enemy fire in Richmond in the 1940s. In an Interlude familiar witches chant "When Shall We Three Tweet Again?", gleefully announcing "We will all befoul the air". Act 4 (Distraction) reminds us that although thousands of people are dying, and "We're Still Waiting" for the Russian interference report the Government has higher priorities, as we see in "Portaloo Brexit" and in the magnificent finale to Act 4 "Britannia Waives the Rules". After further Shakespeare it is time for Act 5 (Congestion, Reflection, and Reward of the Undeserving). The Virus Cometh to Call month after month in what seems like a never-ending cycle. Ambridge is not forgotten as the Archers explore who can be blamed for Covid 19 and for the Brexit debacle. Lords of Delight recounts the splendid rewards available for the undeserving, while in Kent an awesome Convoy of stationary vehicles is assembled.
