Oh Engineering! Oh How You Do Frustrate Me! (In Haiku Format)
Pip Merryweather (odd job engineer) sat at his desk frustrated by engineering and those to whom he reported. He created a single, pithy Haiku to vent his frustration, and he found it far too amusing. Things got way out of hand, and a book was born; a book fraught with pent up frustration and grievances, being vented through the (traditionally calm) 17 syllable Haiku with all the oxymoronic finesse of an exploding comforter.
The Profound Philosophical Pontifications of Big John Deacon, Freemason Extraordinaire
Brother Big John Deacon is a larger-than-life Texas Freemason and Past Master. He towers at 6 feet 7 inches tall and weighs in at 275 pounds. People seem to always notice him in his black alligator boots and 7X Stetson Silverbelly cowboy hat. He commands attention when he walks into a room with his plain-spoken and exuberant personality. Brother Chris Williams met him several years ago when Brother Deacon's large black F-350 pick-up truck needed repairs. Brother Williams has authentically captured Big John's gruff but gentle cowboy charm and values, which his Masonic membership reinforces. The story of their friendship and adventures is appealing and memorable. Readers may also be familiar with the "Old Tyler's Talks" by Carl H. Claudy, which first appeared in 1921. In many ways, the John Deacon series is a contemporary version of them. Within the pages of each book, there is a pearl of folksy wisdom that is timeless. Brother Deacon is a mix of walking (and mechanical) disasters and knowledge born of passion and profound reflections on Freemasonry and today's Lodge challenges. The John Deacon book series will have readers laughing, crying, and, more importantly, reflecting on Freemasonry.
The Physiology of Marriage
The Physiology of Marriage (1829) is a book length essay by French writer Honor矇 de Balzac. Written from the point of view of an author who has overheard scandalous conversations between two women, The Physiology of Marriage is both a critique of the institution of marriage and a satirical attempt to scientifically explain the cause and frequency of marital infidelity. The essay was an early success for Balzac, gaining him a reputation as a talented writer and creative critic of contemporary French society. The essay consists of a series of meditations that approach marriage through a variety of scientific, philosophical, and anecdotal methods. Arguing that marriage is an institution that runs counter to human nature, the author uses questionable mathematics to calculate the number of married women in France who are likely to seek out affairs in order to feel a passion denied to them. Describing the likely signs of marital infidelity-standoffishness, a change in dress, lack of romance-he claims that French men have grown far too accepting of their wives' affairs. Rather than reject the institution altogether-he sees it as integral to upholding the social order-the author suggests that young women be allowed a certain amount of freedom to explore their romantic inclinations and to prepare themselves for the banality of married life. The Physiology of Marriage finds satire in treating seriously and scientifically the often hidden and always complex matters of the heart, as well as through its suggestion that women, not men, are to blame for the proliferation of infidelity in France. This edition of Honor矇 de Balzac's The Physiology of Marriage is a classic of French literature reimagined for modern readers. Things Snowball
I stopped off at the Peace Gardens - a memorial straddling the US-Canadian border commemorating 'Lasting Peace Between America and Canada', as if there had ever been a problem. Show me a garden commemorating Peace Between America and, say, Iraq and I'll be impressed. America is like a beauty contestant. It's gorgeous, until it opens its mouth.' From the similarities between US gun laws and British drinking hours, to what cryptic crosswords really tell us about the British psyche, American in London Rich Hall casts a keen eye on the lunatic contradictions and weird marvels of his native and adoptive homelands. The Idea of Things
We live in a world of myriad things, surrounding us every waking moment. The Idea of Things explores the fine line between our experience of the things in our lives versus their reality, then uses the putty knife of ideation to spackle over any awkward gaps. Plundering the well-stocked pantry of popular neuroscience, The Idea of Things uses humor like an electric can opener to serve up heaping portions of insight into how we encounter things, how the brain creates ideas, how ideas of things shift & morph, and how experience is constantly and inevitably imbued with feeling. The Idea of Things brandishes the ensuing ironies like a veritable chainsaw to cleave forest from trees across dimensions ranging from dreams, to hypnosis, to cream filled fondants, to the very construction of 'self' itself-cobbling it all back together with the cohesive duct tape of cognitive psychology, on flavonoids. The Idea of Things is ultimately a detailed and systematic, yet patently playful and consummately comical overview of how the brain strives to represent the things in our world, while also imbuing things with feeling-and how the ensuing ideas the mind generates about things, swayed by selective attention, shape our everyday experience with its many ironies and subtle shadings. It's mind candy. With extra sprinkles.

Beneficial Accomplishments of Joe Biden
To quote Mrs. Which from A Wrinkle in Time, "The only way to cope with something deadly serious is to try to treat it a little lightly". This book was the winner of both the International Impact Book Award for Humor and The Literary Titan Award. Similarly, BB is the publisher of the hit song, Biden Blues, which you can find wherever you get your music.Note: This book has very, very few words. Splashes of Ink
An idiomatic poetry book; a fine piece of literary art. The contents of this book can cause nuanced or monumental changes. A key definer of these pages is art - including visual art - as seen in the manipulated colour images throughout. In this tapestry of poems there is a thread that occasionally becomes visible - music. Music is a dear friend and companion, and has naturally made its way into some of my poems. These poems lend to the performing arts, and the ebook version includes audio and video links where you can see and hear me performing. All the recordings, virtually, include specially selected sequences of music.

Throw Me Under the Bus...Please
English literature has been deluged by memoirs, commentaries and travel logs depicting the fascinating adventures of hearty souls and brilliant intellectuals. In contrast, "Throw Me Under the Bus...Please" is a cynical yet humorous account of a bus tour through Mexico in the company of my doting wife, two children and demanding parents. The book is neither a traditional event-oriented memoir or detail-laden synopsis of a foreign land. Rather, it reflects my sardonic but insightful reflections as I become an unwitting captive aboard a meticulously prompt tour bus meandering through the architectural wonders of pre-Colombian Mexico. I am a quirky "everyman," guided by a thoughtful wife, humbled by my rapidly maturing pre-teen children and plagued by my cajoling parents. Although rife with facts and tales concerning Meso-American culture and architecture, the details serve primarily as a backdrop for my inner stream of sarcastic musings. Think Virginia Woolf meets Bob Hope, on the road without Bing Crosby for support.

Tongue in Chico
Who knew college could be this funny? You remember those days, don't you? Not quite free love, lots of rock 'n' roll, drugs of the innocent and not-so-innocent kind and the absolute feeling that all was right with the world. This book captivates its readers with astute, amusing and downright hilarious moments in the day in the life of a Chico State Wildcat. Where else can you party with your profs, skinny-dip between class and coast through stop signs on your bike with only a nominal risk of winding up on somebody's windshield? Based on a compilation of past columns from several Northern California weeklies including a stint as ace cub reporter for his college newspaper, C L Smith invites us along on his migration from Southern California to the quaint college town of Chico, California. After college, he finally ditches his shorts, tee-shirts and flip-flops and assumes the identity of a bona fide bon vivant as the editor of the Santa Cruz Good Times. Later, C L Smith was the marketing wizard who introduced several iconic advertising campaigns of the 80s, 90s and early 2000s. And, if you think Smith's college years were funny, wait till you join him for a walk on the wild side of American business in the advertising and wireless worlds.
