Markota's book(s) are valuable references but was completed before the use of computers as we know them today. Jeff Wichmann's American Bottle Auction catalogs are too valuable to waste the excellent photos of rare bottles.With the additional listings of unlisted bottles from the collections of Mike Southworth, John O'Neill, John Louder, Richard Siri and Rick Siri it places more information into this endeavor.That being said; I consolidated the information presented in each book and have created a reference guide in color to assist local collectors.
The Alastair Leslie Collection Volume Two
This book catalogues (with extensive photography) more pieces from The Alastair Leslie Collection. The first volume of the Leslie collection covered porcelain produced at West Pans in Scotland during the third quarter of the 18th century. Volume two moves on to cover Scottish folk art as represented as much as possible by Scottish east-coast pottery mugs and jugs produced prior to 1840. George Haggarty has been extremely cautious with his attributions, but it is clear that the majority of the mugs and many of the jugs have strong east coast connection especially with the Fife and Perthshire areas. Many recorded the betrothal, marriage or birth of individuals and are often decorated with the tools of their trade. While there are no mugs with factory marks, the book highlights the similarity of painted flowers, style and inscriptions which can enable the identification of groups that came from different factories and even individual artists.

The Skean
This is the history of the distinctive fighting knife of the Gaelic Irish, the skean (Irish: scian). Author Robert Gresh has scoured primary sources for references to the weapon in use and traveled to examine the known surviving examples. The skean fell into disuse in the 18th century without being well documented, and surviving examples are often out of sight in reserve collections, private collections, or small local museums. Today, the skean is sought after by reenactors and collectors, but before now, there has not been any definitive work on the subject. This study is intended to aid collectors and curators in the identification of original artifacts, while also assisting fabricators in the creation of replica pieces. Also included is information on manufacturing and fighting techniques.
