Distribution and abundance of martens in the Community of Madrid
Habitat selection is essential for the life of animals. Knowing their ecological requirements allows for better management and conservation of the species. This study evaluates how different anthropic and natural variables affect the distribution and abundance of the marten (Martes foina, Erxleben, 1777a) in the Community of Madrid. Sampling was carried out in 90 transects of 1 km, and relative abundance indices were calculated using the frequency of droppings. Using field data and GIS layers, variables were analyzed at two spatial scales and, together with climatic variables, a distribution model (SDM) was generated that places the optimal habitat in the north and southwest of Madrid. General linear models (GLM) showed that marten abundance decreases with anthropogenic factors such as urbanization, linear infrastructure and livestock and increases with certain natural variables, such as scrub and water cover and bobcat abundance, and decreases with others such as grazing.The importance of conserving the marten is emphasized because of its ecological roles as a seed disperser and predator (regulation of populations such as rodents).

It exhibited important functional groups, such as hydroxyl at 1021.29 cm⁻繒, amine at 1408.93 cm⁻繒, amide at 1558.02 cm⁻繒, alkene at 1636.80 cm⁻繒, alkyne at 2117.12 cm⁻繒, and alcohol at 3287.51 cm⁻繒, through FTIR analysis. It thus confirms that the extract contains various bioactive compounds, and its traditional uses could be recommended for further pharmaceutical and agricultural applications. Its future work concerns the isolation of individual compounds and their further bioactivity studies.

This publication assessed the water quality and ecological aspects of the Ouro Creek, in the municipality of Caxias/MA, by analysing physical, chemical and biological parameters, with a view to determining its classification and suitability for its various uses. The quality and alterations to the water body were analysed using physical parameters (pH, Conductivity, True Colour, Turbidity, Temperature, Total Solids and Total Dissolved Solids), chemical parameters (Nitrite, Nitrate, Total Phosphorus, Alkalinity, Iron, Total Hardness and Ammoniacal Nitrogen) and biological parameters (Macroinvertebrate indicators). Finally, it compared the hydrological quality of the Ouro stream with CONAMA Resolution 357 of 17 March 2005 for surface waters. The assessment of the physical-chemical parameters of the water quality of the Ouro Creek served to alert the public authorities to take decisions with a view to conservation campaigns aimed at Caxiense society, especially the communities that are in its surroundings, with a view to using it sustainably in order to protect biodiversity and the biological balance of aquatic organisms.

Living with the effects of drought is a challenge, especially for residents of arid and semi-arid regions where this phenomenon is present and routine. The Brazilian northeast is well acquainted with this reality. In an attempt to alleviate the population's situation, drought-fighting actions have emerged, including underground dams, which have emerged as an alternative for people to live with drought. This work was carried out by means of an exploratory approach pertinent to the local scenario of the multiple uses of underground dams in Bom Sucesso/PB, as well as mentioning the structural and non-structural elements of their installation, operation and maintenance. Presented in an original and didactic way, this work refers to the monograph developed by the authors at the Federal Rural University of the Semi-Arid (UFERSA, Pau dos Ferros/RN campus), contemplating technical-scientific explanations within an applied practical exploratory context.

Installation of a STEMI thrombolysis network in emergency departments
The management of acute coronary syndrome with ST-segment elevation (STEMI) is still a problem in regions outside our country's major metropolises.The aim of our study is to demonstrate the value of setting up a thrombolysis network for STEMI patients in the Mostaganem region.Methods: Single-center prospective observational study, conducted from December 1, 2018 to November 30, 2022.A descriptive analysis was performed on the characteristics, management and intra-hospital prognosis of these patients.Results: From the 10 STEMI patients who underwent thrombolysis during one year before the installation of this network, we increased to an average of 74 patients thrombolysed per year within the framework of the thrombolysis network at the Mostaganem level. We included 295 patients with an average age of 58 years, predominantly male (83.7%). The average pain-reperfusion time was 3 hours 42 minutes (2 hours 48 minutes for the city of Mostaganem vs. 4 hours 21 minutes for its outskirts; p
