Micromammal prey in the Edough forest massif
At the heart of food webs, the diversity and dynamics of small mammals are excellent indicators of ecosystem health. Our research was based on a spatio-temporal analysis of the consumption of small mammals by two of their predators: the common genet and the African golden wolf. The resulting study was carried out in the Edough mountain range from December 2018 to February 2020, where we were able to collect a total of 390 droppings, including 210 belonging to the common genet and 180 to the African golden wolf. We carried out a taxonomic identification of the small mammals consumed by the two predators, then analyzed some parameters of the structure of the small mammal population, and its seasonal variation in natural environments. After processing the faeces, we were able to identify 04 species of small mammals, with an overlap of trophic niches between the two predators, particularly marked in winter. These results confirm the status of the two sympatric predators as samplers of micro mammal biodiversity in natural environments.

Therefore, in order to deal with it, it is necessary to be more sensitive to the types of water consumption. Among these uses is virtual water. The water used in the production process of goods is called virtual water, a part of which is kept in the product. Virtual water trade occurs when goods are imported into global markets. Virtual water trading is expected to reduce water consumption at the national and international levels due to more efficient and specialized use of water. Today, the concept of virtual water is one of the most important issues in water resource management. In this study, the compatibility status of the concept of virtual water in Iran has been investigated. Water is one of the most important components needed for the continuation of life. Excessive consumption of this element has caused irreparable damage to water resources and the agricultural industry has taken the largest volume of water consumption. In recent years, the significant reduction of water resources as well as the growing trend of drought necessitates a review and change.
Lichens of Algeria
Aim of this work is to describe the diversity of teloschistaceae in the forest of Doui Thabet (Saida province, western Algeria). The order Teloschistales contains species of nitrophilous lichens that grow rapidly on nitrogen-rich substrates. There are Teloschistaceae containing anthraquinones, Teloschistaceae with sedifolia grey and Physciaceae rich in atranorine. After sampling and collecting various specimens between 2019 and 2021 in this forest; the identification revealed 22 species of the Teloschistaceae family reported for the first time from this region. The following five species are noted: Blastenia xerothermica, Caloplaca intern, Pyrenodesmia microstepposa, Usnochroma carphineum, and Variospora glomerata are new species for Algeria.

Crop-raiding in African forest elephants
Human-elephant conflict is common on cropland due to human encroachment into wildlife habitat, a serious conservation challenge in many countries in sub Saharan Africa. Though, a variety of conflict management strategies have been used for mitigation, the positive impact is not much, crop-raiding is still increasingly alarming especially in mount Cameroon national park periphery due to increase in human settlement. Crop-raiding behavior of elephants has recently taken the center stage of human-wildlife conflict in this area. Villagers have taken the fore front of the battle, struggling to push elephants back to the wild, using all kinds of affordable deterrents measures to stop the elephant feeding and foraging activities on their cropland. Consequently, casualties on both side of the conflict often occur, justifying a mitigation conservation strategy such as compensation of the affected villages on a possible re-settlement plan, and translocation of some of the elephants to distant protection areas. Studies on Transferable R-Plasmids in Faecal Coliforms
Water-borne infections account for a major health problems in India especially in rural and backward regions. Along with assessment of public health risk of the water bodies, attempts were made to evaluate the feasibility of using faecal coliforms and faecal streptococci as possible indicator of water quality. In order to detect specific indicator of water quality i.e. E. Coli, several fluorogenic and chromogenic media were evaluated. Simple tests such as P-A, H2S and fluorogenic brilla broth test (FBB) at direct temperature of 44.5簞C were also included in the study to detect indicator of faecal pollution. Several studies have drawn attention to the plasmid mediated antibiotic and heavy metal resistance among coliform species in treated and untreated drinking water and concern has been expressed regarding the prevalence of multiple antibiotic resistance (MAR). Since antibiotic resistance is transferable through R-plasmids and there is a relation between expression of antibiotic resistance and pollution tolerance, it was of interest to see the plasmid ecology especially effect of sub-lethal doses of disinfectants on stability and transmissibility of R-plasmid.

Influence of climatic factors on the radial growth of junipers
This study investigates the influence of drought periods and climate change on the growth of the common juniper (Juniperus communis) in an inner-alpine dry valley on the Mieminger Plateau (Tyrol). Using dendroecological methods and increment drilling, the effects of precipitation deficiency and rising temperatures on radial stem growth are analyzed.The results show that juniper is less adapted to increasing drought than Pinus sylvestris. While more vigorous juniper specimens show constant growth, weaker plants show strong declines in growth. This study provides important insights into the adaptability of plants in dry alpine regions and their response to climate change.
