The Signed Distance Measure in Fuzzy Statistical Analysis
The main focus of this book is on presenting advances in fuzzy statistics, and on proposing a methodology for testing hypotheses in the fuzzy environment based on the estimation of fuzzy confidence intervals, a context in which not only the data but also the hypotheses are considered to be fuzzy. The proposed method for estimating these intervals is based on the likelihood method and employs the bootstrap technique. A new metric generalizing the signed distance measure is also developed. In turn, the book presents two conceptually diverse applications in which defended intervals play a role: one is a novel methodology for evaluating linguistic questionnaires developed at the global and individual levels; the other is an extension of the multi-ways analysis of variance to the space of fuzzy sets. To illustrate these approaches, the book presents several empirical and simulation-based studies with synthetic and real data sets. In closing, it presents a coherent R package called "FuzzySTs" which covers all the previously mentioned concepts with full documentation and selected use cases. Given its scope, the book will be of interest to all researchers whose work involves advanced fuzzy statistical methods.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Third MICCAI Workshop on Distributed, Collaborative, and Federated Learning, DeCaF 2022, and the Second MICCAI Workshop on Affordable AI and Healthcare, FAIR 2022, held in conjunction with MICCAI 2022, in Singapore in September 2022. FAIR 2022 was held as a hybrid event.DeCaF 2022 accepted 14 papers from the 18 submissions received. The workshop aims at creating a scientific discussion focusing on the comparison, evaluation, and discussion of methodological advancement and practical ideas about machine learning applied to problems where data cannot be stored in centralized databases or where information privacy is a priority. For FAIR 2022, 4 papers from 9 submissions were accepted for publication. The topics of the accepted submissions focus on deep ultrasound segmentation, portable OCT image quality enhancement, self-attention deep networks and knowledge distillation in low-regime setting.

Important: Due to its size, this specification is broken down into two parts. This book is Part 2 of the specification. S5000F - International specification for in-service data feedback, describes a structured way to share information between different stakeholders regarding a product or service during the in-service phase. The information is transferred using an XML schema that is interoperable with the other S-Series IPS specifications. The exchange is multidirectional, and the direction may vary depending on contractual arrangements. Collection of in-service data has many purposes and is one of the most important functions of in-service support. It enables fleet managers, support managers and manufacturers to perform a thorough analysis of the operational and support performance of a complex product and organize complex services; it also allows authorities to confirm that adherence to current regulations is complied with. The overall aim to be achieved through in-service data feedback is the increase of fleet availability and optimization of support and product effectiveness. In addition, the in-service data feedback information is a firm requirement by Industry to agree to and manage in-service contracts and to fulfill their obligations with regard to product liability. Note that though the S5000F specification is mainly intended to provide on product support in-service issues, that does not mean that its use is restricted to this sole purpose. The smallest known S5000F implementation (with only four data elements) is a reporting on tolerances for manufacturing quality control. It is also the only currently known international specification that allows to report environmental, site location or export control information, as well as on many other aspects that no other specification covers. Given that it is product neutral, it is used for land, sea and aerospace applications, both for military and civilian projects. S5000F is fully interoperable with the rest of the S-Series of integrated product support (IPS) specifications, and therefore provides a key feature for a full integrated life-cycle support.
