Dynamics of the Coastal Zone
The coastal zone is the host to many human activities, which have significantly increased in the last decades. However, sea level rise and more frequent storm events severely affect beaches and coastal structures, with negative consequences and dramatic impacts on coastal communities. These aspects add to typical coastal problems, like flooding and beach erosion, which already leading to large economic losses and human fatalities. Modeling is thus fundamental for an exhaustive understanding of the nearshore region in the present and future environment. Innovative tools and technologies may help to better understand coastal processes in terms of hydrodynamics, sediment transport, bed morphology, and their interaction with coastal structures. This book collects several contributions focusing on nearshore dynamics, and span among several time and spatial scales using both physical and numerical approaches. The aim is to describe the most recent advances in coastal dynamics.

The Special Issue on "Model-Based Tools for Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Processes" will curate novel advances in the development and application of model-based tools to address ever-present challenges of the traditional pharmaceutical manufacturing practice as well as new trends. This book provides a collection of nine papers on original advances in the model-based process unit, system-level, quality-by-design under uncertainty, and decision-making applications of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
Millimeter－Wave （mmWave） Communications
The millimeter-wave frequency band (30-300 GHz) is considered a potential candidate to host very high data rate communications. First used for high capacity radio links and then for broadband indoor wireless networks, the interest in this frequency band has increased as it is proposed to accommodate future 5G mobile communication systems. The large bandwidth available will enable a number of new uses for 5G. In addition, due to the large propagation attenuation, this frequency band may provide some additional advantages regarding frequency reuse and communication security. However, a number of issues have to be addressed to make mm-wave communications viable. This book collects a number of contributions that present solutions to these challenges.
Exact and Heuristic Scheduling Algorithms
This edited book presents new results in the area of the development of exact and heuristic scheduling algorithms. It contains eight articles accepted for publication for a Special Issue in the journal Algorithms. The book presents new algorithms, e.g., for flow shop, job shop, and parallel machine scheduling problems. The particular articles address subjects such as a heuristic for the routing and scheduling problem with time windows, applied to the automotive industry in Mexico, a heuristic for the blocking job shop problem with tardiness minimization based on new neighborhood structures, fast heuristics for the Euclidean traveling salesman problem or a new mathematical model for the period-aggregated resource leveling problem with variable job duration, and several others.
Datenimport, Massenermittlung und Teilkalkulation aus einem 3D-Modell in ArchiCAD mithilfe
Bachelorarbeit aus dem Jahr 2017 im Fachbereich Ingenieurwissenschaften - Bauingenieurwesen, Note: 1,7, Fachhochschule Regensburg, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Ziel der vorliegenden Bachelorarbeit ist die Massenermittlung und eine anschlie?ende Kalkulation eines Geb瓣udemodells in ArchiCAD mithilfe des AVA-Programms RIB iTWO. Das Modell wurde vom B羹ro 'K繹hler Architekten + Beratende Ingenieure GmbH' modelliert und f羹r diese Arbeit zur Verf羹gung gestellt. Der L繹sungsansatz besteht dabei aus einem Datenimport und der Datenverarbeitung von ArchiCAD in iTWO und aus einer auf einem 3D-Modell basierenden Kalkulation. Diese Arbeitsweise orientiert sich am BIM Prozess, zeigt inwieweit eine Interoperabilit瓣t der zwei oben genannten Programme m繹glich ist und welche Problematik damit einhergeht. Zu Beginn werden einige allgemeine Informationen 羹ber das BIM aufgelistet. Dabei wird unter anderem der Begriff 'BIM' erkl瓣rt und erl瓣utert welche Datenformate bei dieser Methode verwendet werden. Im Anschluss daran wird aufgezeigt, wie die Daten in ArchiCAD aufbereitet werden um einen qualit瓣tsgesicherten Export in iTWO gew瓣hrleisten zu k繹nnen. Anschlie?end wird die Arbeitsweise mit RIB iTWO vom Datenimport, 羹ber die Datenaufbereitung, bis zur dreidimensionalen Mengenberechnung und Kalkulation erkl瓣rt. Am Ende der Arbeit wird auf im Verlauf aufgetretene Probleme eingegangen und ein abschlie?endes Fazit wird gezogen. Die angefertigte Anleitung soll es Firmen auf einfache Art und Weise erm繹glichen, mithilfe der zwei Software-Programme ein BIM-orientiertes Modell anzufertigen. Diese erforderlichen Hilfsmittel sind zum einen ein CAD-Programm und zum anderen ein Schnittstellenprogramm, um die gesamte Konzeption der Anleitung zu erarbeiten und n瓣her zu bringen. Als CAD-Programm haben wir uns f羹r ArchiCAD entschieden, da die Firma 'K繹hler Architekten + Beratende Ingenieure GmbH' bereits damit arbeitet.

Solar Air Heater - An Analysis for thermal performance
2D computational analysis is carried out to assess the comparative performance of the absorb-er plate of a solar air heater with T-shape rectangular roughness elements using commercial software packages Fluent 14.5 are investigated at the Reynolds number range from 4000-16000 in which solar air heater normally operate. The k-ɛ turbulence model is selected by comparing the predictions of different turbulence models with experimental results available in the literature. Using the selected turbulence model a computational analysis is carried out to predict the heat transfer performance and flow friction characteristics of absorb-er plates with T-shape and rectangular rib roughness elements.
Assessment and Control of Operational Loss of Sugar During Sugar Cane ProcessingKagera Sug
Case Study from the year 2020 in the subject Agrarian Studies, language: English, abstract: This paper concentrated on assessing and controlling the operational loss of sugar in various sugar byproducts during cane processing in cane sugar factory. In the study, factors associated with operational loss were discussed and Kagera Sugar Limited (KSL) was taken as a case study. Operational sucrose loss is divided into two major categories namely, determined losses and undetermined losses. Determined losses are those which can be easily quantified through lab analysis, such as loss in molasses, filter cake and bagasse. Unlike determined losses, undetermined losses are difficult to estimate directly but rather by factory material balance. Undetermined loss is further classified into chemical loss, mechanical loss and administrative loss. In both losses, the loss through molasses is by far the largest of total loss encountered during cane processing. Objective of this paper was to develop means of increasing sucrose recovery by monitoring sugar loss. After analyzing data collected from KSL production reports, for crushing seasons 2015/16 and 2016/17 the operational loss was 2.83 and 2.87 pol % cane crushed in respective seasons. This means KSL loses significant amount of sucrose as compared to 2.20 pol% cane crushed for plants installed after 1994 as reported by. Sugar loss in molasses and bagasse was high than others, it was concluded that, the use of three laws of sucrose loss in molasses coupled with optimization of boiling house operations would result in minimized loss of sucrose in molasses. Also, improving extraction would result in minimum sucrose loss in bagasse.

Galvanic Skin Response (GSR) has as of late stood out for researchers as a planned physiological marker of intellectual feelings. In this exploration, intending to play out a far reaching study, we have evaluated GSR information capture for fifteen writing task and three difficulty levels and determined time and frequency domain feature. We determined that cognitive load is proportional to the task difficulty level. If cognitive load increases, task difficulty level will increase. If cognitive load decreases, task difficulty level will decrease.

Die vorliegende Hausarbeit setzt sich mit den Themen des staatlichen Naturschutzes in Deutschland und deren Prinzipien auseinander. Dabei stehen besonders die geschichtlichen Ereignisse im Fokus, sowie die Fragestellung, welche Ma?nahmen der Staat zum Schutz der Natur beigetragen hat und woran einige Ma?nahmen scheiterten. Tools, Methodologies and Techniques Applied to Sustainable Supply Chains
Supply chains are currently globalized and companies operate internationally owing to the fact that raw materials, production processes, and the consumption of the final products are carried out in different countries. This implies high material and information flow, which incurs high costs associated with the supply chain and logistics, sometimes up to 60% of the total cost of the product. Therefore, companies seek to optimize their resources to reduce these costs and improve sustainability in a globalized market. This book, entitled Tools, Methodologies and Techniques Applied to Sustainable Supply Chains, contains 15 chapters that report case studies applied to industrial and service sectors. The authors come from areas such as Mexico, Colombia, Italy, Sweden, Slovakia, China, and Australia. They indicate how managers make use of tools and techniques to solve problems associated with supply chains to reduce their cost and remain competitive. A great effort has been made to analyze this problem, and the methodologies are clearly described here to facilitate the reproducibility of each technique and tool. Advances in Mechanical Systems Dynamics
Modern dynamics was established many centuries ago by Galileo and Newton before the beginning of the industrial era. Presently, we are in the presence of the fourth industrial revolution, and mechanical systems are increasingly being integrated with electronic, electrical, and fluidic systems. This trend is present not only in the industrial environment, which will soon be characterized by the cyber-physical systems of industry 4.0, but also in other environments like mobility, health and bio-engineering, food and natural resources, safety, and sustainable living. In this context, purely mechanical systems with quasi-static behavior will become less common and the state-of-the-art will soon be represented by integrated mechanical systems, which need accurate dynamic models to predict their behavior. Therefore, mechanical system dynamics are going to play an increasingly central role. Significant research efforts are needed to improve the identification of the mechanical properties of systems in order to develop models that take non-linearity into account, and to develop efficient simulation tools. This Special Issue aims at disseminating the latest research achievements, findings, and ideas in mechanical systems dynamics, with particular emphasis on applications that are strongly integrated with other systems and require a multi-physical approach.
Multiscale Turbulent Transport
Turbulent transport is currently a prominent and ongoing investigation subject at the interface of methodologies from theory to numerical simulations and experiments, and it covers several spatiotemporal scales. Mathematical analysis, physical modelling, and engineering applications represent different facets of a classical, long-standing problem that is still far from being thoroughly comprehended. The goal of this Special Issue is to outline recent advances of such subjects as multiscale analysis in turbulent transport processes, Lagrangian and Eulerian descriptions of turbulence, advection of particles and fields in turbulent flows, ideal or nonideal turbulence (unstationary/inhomogeneous/anisotropic/compressible), turbulent flows in biofluid mechanics and magnetohydrodynamics, and the control and optimization of turbulent transport. The SI is open to regular articles, review papers focused on the state of the art and the progress made over the last few years, and new research trends.

Masterarbeit aus dem Jahr 2019 im Fachbereich Biologie - Krankheiten, Gesundheit, Ern瓣hrung, Note: 1,8, Universit瓣t Duisburg-Essen, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In dieser Arbeit wird untersucht, inwieweit Ballaststoffe einen Einfluss auf den Menschen, insbesondere auf Darmkrebs haben. Dazu wird unter anderem eine Metaanalyse prospektiver Studien ausgewertet, die den Zusammenhang zwischen Ballaststoffen und Vollkornprodukten und dem Darmkrebsrisiko untersucht. Zudem soll diese Arbeit m繹gliche Empfehlungen f羹r eine ballaststoffreiche Ern瓣hrung f羹r den Alltag mitgeben. Die vorliegende Arbeit l瓣sst sich in sieben Kapiteln gliedern. Im ersten Kapitel wird zun瓣chst kurz das Verdauungssystem im Tierreich angesprochen, wie es bei den verschiedenen Tieren aufgebaut ist, welche Tiere ein Verdauungssystem besitzen und welche nicht, damit die Entwicklung und das Vorhandensein des Verdauungssystems verstanden werden kann. Im zweiten Kapitel wird auf das Verdauungssystem des Menschen eingegangen, um Aufbau und die einzelnen Schritte der Verdauung zu verdeutlichen. Dabei wird die Nahrung durch die einzelnen Abschnitte bis zur Ausscheidung begleitet und die einzelnen Prozesse beschrieben. Angefangen wird dabei mit dem Mund als die Anfangsstation der Verdauung mit dem anschlie?enden Transport der Nahrung durch die Speiser繹hre zum Magen. Auf den Magen wird dann etwas mehr eingegangen, da ein Teil der Verdauungsprozesse hier stattfinden und der Nahrungsbrei auf den Weitertransport zum wesentlichen Teil des Verdauungstrakts, n瓣mlich dem Darm vorbereitet wird. Non-Newtonian (non-linear) fluids are common in nature, for example, in mud and honey, but also in many chemical, biological, food, pharmaceutical, and personal care processing industries. This Special Issue of Fluids is dedicated to the recent advances in the mathematical and physical modeling of non-linear fluids with industrial applications, especially those concerned with CFD studies. These fluids include traditional non-Newtonian fluid models, electro- or magneto-rheological fluids, granular materials, slurries, drilling fluids, polymers, blood and other biofluids, mixtures of fluids and particles, etc.
Compact Stars in the QCD Phase Diagram
The book edition of the Universe Special Issue "Compact Stars in the QCD Phase Diagram" is devoted to the overarching aspects shared between heavy-ion collisions and compact star astrophysics in investigating the hadron-to-quark matter phase transition in the equation of state of strongly interacting matter in different regions of the phase diagram of QCD. Ultrasonic Cavitation Treatment of Metallic Alloys
This Special Issue scrutinizes the use of ultrasonic-cavitation melt treatment in technology of high-quality metallic alloys with improved mechanical properties, and assesses the driving mechanisms of cavitation-induced effects, such as grain refinement, degassing, wetting, and particle distribution. In this context, the research published in this Special Issue considers the interaction between the cavitation field and acoustic streaming with the melt flow and the suspended solid/liquid phases, the characterization and mapping of cavitation activity in a melt volume, and the possibility of achieving high efficiency in processing large melt volumes through technological approaches for the commercial implementation of ultrasonic processing technology.

Environmental Impact Assessment of Buildings
This Special Issue covers a wide range of areas--including building orientation, service life, use of photocatalytically active structures and PV facades, implications of transportation system, building types (i.e., high rise, multilevel, commercial, residential), life cycle assessment, and structural engineering--that need to be considered in the environmental impact assessment of buildings, and the chapters include case studies across the globe. Consideration of these strategies would help reduce energy and material consumption, environmental emissions, and waste generation associated with all phases of a building's life cycle. Chapter 1 demonstrates that green star concrete exhibits the same structural properties as conventional concrete in Australia. Chapter 2 showed that the use of TiO2 as a photocatalyst on the surface of construction materials with a suitable stable binding agent, such as aggregates, would enable building walls to absorb NOx from air. This study found that TiO2 has the potential to reduce ambient concentrations of NOx from areas where this pollutant becomes concentrated under solar irradiation. Chapter 3 presents the life cycle assessment of architecturally integrated glass-glass photovoltaics in building facades to find the appropriate material composition for a multicolored PV fa癟ade offering improved environmental performance. Chapter 4 shows that urban office buildings lacking appropriate orientation experienced indoor overheating. Chapter 5 details four modeling approaches that were implemented to estimate buildings' response towards load shedding. Chapter 6 covers the life cycle GHG emissions of high-rise residential housing block to discover opportunities for environmental improvement. Chapter 7 discusses an LCA framework that took into account variation in the service life of buildings associated with the use of different types of materials. Chapter 8 presents a useful data mining algorithm to conduct life cycle asset management in residential developments built on transport systems.
Strength, permability and void content on pervious concrete with varying sizes of aggregat

The pervious concrete contains cement, coarse aggregates, water and admixtures if needed. It has no sand in it which results in large amount of voids in the previous concrete. This sole property of having voids play a vital role in the functioning of the pervious concrete i.e; allowing water to pass through it. The pervious concrete has a disadvantage that it has less compressive strength when compare to normal concrete this backdrop in pervious concrete because pervious concrete is a no fines concrete it has no sand the sand which plays a vital role in the strength gain of the concrete hence we in our study has concentrated in improving the compressive strength but at the same time the permeability and void content should also not affected because permeability and void content are two most important properties of the pervious concrete which makes it the pervious concrete so basically we have also conducted study on the permeability and void content of the pervious concrete. In our study we have added different sizes of coarse aggregates such as 20 m, 12 mm, 12 +2 0 mm and we have added the sand percentages at 0 %, 0.25 %, 0.75 % and the compressive strength was checked on 7,14,28,56,90 days respectively and we have checked the permeability and void content at 28 days.

Removing the expansive soil and replacing with the competent material is applied to mitigate the problem which is very expensive and time consuming for long hauling distance and thick layer expansive soil. This study presented stabilization of local expansive sub-grade soil using marble waste powder with lime. The marble waste powder was collected in Addis Ababa from Ethiomarble processing enterprise Gulele branch and the lime was collected at Gast Solar Mechanics in Addis Ababa. Free swell index test, Atterberg limit test, Proctor test, unconfined compressive test, California Bearing Ratio Tests, swelling potential and swelling pressure test were used to evaluate properties of treated and untreated soils. The expansive subgrade soil was treated using 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, and 25% marble waste powder with fixed 3% lime respective combinations by weight of the soil. The optimum percent combination for this study was 10% marble waste powder with 3%lime based on soaked CBR swell, soaked CBR, swelling pressure and swelling potential test result values. Optimum proportion of stabilizers improve CBR Value from 0.65% to 4.19%, reduce swelling pressure from 1000kpa to 440kpa, increases MDD from 1.21 to 1.29, and reduce PI from 78% to 48.4%. Analysis of the Impact of Out-Grower Schemes on the Wellbeing of Small-Scale Tobacco Farme

This is because out-grower schemes provide access to agricultural inputs and market to the rural farmers. These services seem to be scarce, especially in a liberalized economy like Zambia. However, there are debates as whether out-grower schemes have been beneficial to farmers or not. Therefore, this study aims at investigating the impact of tobacco out-grower schemes on the economic well-being of farmers at Mugubudu tobacco out-grower scheme of Chipata District. To do this, the study employed non-experimental cross sectional research design. 150 questionnaires were distributed to solicit data from 150 randomly selected small scale tobacco farmers using a tobacco farmers' register as sample frame. The salient findings of the study were that tobacco out-grower schemes had improved the well-being of small scale tobacco farmers. Indicators for this improvement were that small scale tobacco farmers had acquired assets and their consumption expenditure had increased. However, the study established that lack of information as regard to contract contents, insufficiency of extension services, pricing system, environmental hazards and debt from inputs loans as factors that can choke the strides made by out-grower schemes. The study recommended that information is be provided in local languages as this will reduce the current difficulties as many of agro-literature is published in English. Whereas the physical properties of graphite and diamond have been investigated for many years, the potential for electronic applications of other allotropes of carbon (fullerenes, carbon nanotubes, carbon nanofibres, carbon films, carbon balls and beads, carbon fibers, etc), has only been appreciated relatively recently. Carbon-based materials offer a number of exciting possibilities for new applications of electronic devices, due to their unique thermal and electrical properties. However, the success of carbon-based electronics depends on the rapid progress of the fabrication, doping and manipulation techniques. Cooperative Connected and Automated Mobility (CCAM)
Cooperative connected and automated mobility (CCAM) has the potential to reshape the transportation ecosystem in a revolutionary way. Transportation systems will be safer, more efficient and more comfortable. Cars are going to be the third living space, as passengers will have the freedom to use their car to live, work and travel. Despite the massive effort devoted, both by academia and industry, to developing connected and automated vehicles, there are still many issues to be addressed, including not only scientific and technological, but also regulatory and political issues. This book, mostly centered on the scientific and technological aspects of CCAMs, features seven articles highlighting recent advances of the state of the art in different CCAM technologies. Two papers address vehicular platooning, a key application for day-1 automated driving, other presents a scheme to improve the resource utilization of vehicular networks, while another paper addresses critical train communications, proposing an architecture based on 5G, SDN and MPTCP to provide path diversity and end-to-end redundancy. One paper describes the status of roadside deployment activities and analyzes the policies and practices of cooperative driving in the European Union. Impacts of Livestock Holdings on Households’ Participation in Wood Fuel Production From Dryland Forest
Case Study from the year 2020 in the subject Forestry / Forestry Economics, grade: 3.93, course: Forest Economics and Management, language: English, abstract: This study examines the influence of livestock holding on households' participation in wood fuel production from dryland forest. Survey data were collected from 320 households in Dire Dawa administration council of Oromia state, Ethiopia following a snowball sampling technique. Binary logit regression model and descriptive statistics were used to analyze the impacts of livestock holding on households' participation in fuelwood production from dryland forest. The estimation of the model indicates that livestock and size of arable land holdings were significant factors in determining households' participation in wood fuel production. An increase of one unit in livestock holding leads to the probability of participation in wood fuel production of households decreased by 0.118 units while the land size has a negative impact on the participation of wood fuel production. When land size increased by 1 hectare the probability of participating in wood fuel production will be decreased by 0.9 units. The mean of wood fuel producers' livestock holding was about 5.84 TLU and 10.67 for non- wood fuel producer which indicates the negative correlation of livestock holding and wood fuel production. Thus the study concludes that households with large livestock less likely to participate in wood fuel extraction from dryland forest. Promoting sustainable livestock production with appropriate grazing plan can have a significant role in dryland forest conservation and sustainable forest management.

When a driver doesn't get proper rest, they fall asleep while driving and this leads to fatal accidents. This particular issue demands a solution in the form of a system that is capable of detecting drowsiness and to take necessary actions to avoid accidents. The detection is achieved with three main steps, it begins with face detection and facial feature detection using the famous Viola Jones algorithm followed by eye tracking. By the use of correlation coefficient template matching, the eyes are tracked. Whether the driver is awake or asleep is identified by matching the extracted eye image with the externally fed template (open eyes and closed eyes) based on eyes opening and eyes closing, blinking is recognized. If the driver falling asleep state remains above a specific time (the threshold time) the vehicles stops and an alarm is activated by the use of a specific microcontroller, in this prototype an Arduino is used.

Der Morbus Wilson ist eine autosomal-rezessiv vererbbare Kupferspeicherkrankheit, die zu einer giftigen Kupferakkumulation in verschiedenen Geweben, vor Allem jedoch in der Leber und den Basalganglien, f羹hrt. Die H瓣ufigkeit des M. Wilson liegt auf die Gesamtbev繹lkerung bezogen bei ca. 1:30.000. Die H瓣ufigkeit von gesunden, heterozygoten Merkmalstr瓣gern liegt bei ca. 1:90. Da sie autosomal vererbt wird, sind sowohl M瓣nner als auch Frauen gleich h瓣ufig betroffen. Die Krankheit gibt sich meist zwischen dem 6. und 40. Lebensjahr zu erkennen und hat ein sehr vielf瓣ltiges klinisches Erscheinungsbild. Die St繹rung der Kupferverarbeitung hat viele verschiedene Auswirkungen auf den K繹rper und ist unbehandelt t繹dlich. Bei den Symptomen unterscheidet man grob zwischen hepatischen (die Leber betreffenden) und extrahepatischen Symptomen, wobei jedoch 42% aller Patienten ein vorwiegend hepatisches und 34% aller Patienten ein vorwiegend neurologisches Bild aufweisen.

Indeed, multidisciplinary research allows one to catch more easily the analogies inherent different areas of science, as well as to take advantage and optimize different methods and techniques, often borrowed from other research areas.In the present Special Issue, we included six published papers. The latter contributions, on the one hand, are developed at the theory level and, on the other hand, show experimental results on the realization and experimental characterization of nanostructured systems, suitable for yielding progress towards the realization of systems and devices, that can ultimately lead to industrial applications. The results show that recent scientific research advances in these areas may provide important steps in the direction of fostering innovation and technological development.
Programmierung und Steuerung von Automatisierungsprozessen. Programmierung einer Sp羹lmasch
Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2019 im Fachbereich Ingenieurwissenschaften - Computertechnik, Note: 1,7, Hamburger Fern-Hochschule, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Diese Hausarbeit befasst sich in zwei Teilen mit der Programmierung und Steuerung von Automatisierungsprozessen. In den ersten f羹nf Aufgaben dieser Hausarbeit geht es darum, die Steuerung einer Sp羹lmaschine mit Hilfe der bereitgestellten Software CoDeSys, zu entwickeln. Im zweiten Teil dieser Hausarbeit besch瓣ftigt sich der Autor dann mit der Regelung einer Drosselklappe bei Kraftfahrzeugen. Mit Hilfe der Programme BORIS (Blockorientierte Simulation - Teil von WinFACT7) und dem BODE-Trainer soll dies umgesetzt beziehungsweise dargestellt werden.

In diesem Zusammenhang wird das Hybridheizungssystem als effizienteste und optimale L繹sung f羹r den Betrieb von W瓣rmepumpen im teilmodernisiertem Altbau herausgearbeitet und detailliert vorgestellt. Die ersten Kapitel besch瓣ftigen sich mit der s. g. Kraft-W瓣rme-Kopplung und dem allgemeinen Aufbau und der Funktionsweise einer klassischen W瓣rmepumpe. Hierbei werden die Begriffe der Energieeffizienz und Nachhaltigkeit mit einbezogen und anhand der drei S瓣ulen der Nachhaltigkeit verdeutlicht. Im vierten Kapitel folgt die Begriffserl瓣uterung des "teilmodernisierten Altbaus". Hiernach werden in Kapitel 5 die Einsatzm繹glichkeiten der W瓣rmepumpe, der effiziente Betrieb und das System der Hybridheizung thematisiert. Im Anschluss daran erfolgt die Wirtschaftlichkeitsbetrachtung unter der Ber羹cksichtigung diverser Einflussfaktoren wie zum Beispiel dem Stromverbrauch den Strompreisen, F繹rderm繹glichkeiten, aktuelle W瓣rmepreise etc.
Plasma Processes for Renewable Energy Technologies
The use of renewable energy is an effective solution for the prevention of global warming. On the other hand, environmental plasmas are one of powerful means to solve global environmental problems on nitrogen oxides, (NOx), sulfur oxides (SOx), particulate matter (PM), volatile organic compounds (VOC), and carbon dioxides (CO2) in the atmosphere. By combining both technologies, we can develop an extremely effective environmental improvement technology. Based on this background, a Special Issue of the journal Energies on plasma processes for renewable energy technologies is planned. On the issue, we focus on environment plasma technologies that can effectively utilize renewable electric energy sources, such as photovoltaic power generation, biofuel power generation, wind turbine power generation, etc. However, any latest research results on plasma environmental improvement processes are welcome for submission. We are looking, among others, for papers on the following technical subjects in which either plasma can use renewable energy sources or can be used for renewable energy technologies: Plasma decomposition technology of harmful gases, such as the plasma denitrification method; Plasma removal technology of harmful particles, such as electrostatic precipitation; Plasma decomposition technology of harmful substances in liquid, such as gas-liquid interfacial plasma; Plasma-enhanced flow induction and heat transfer enhancement technologies, such as ionic wind device and plasma actuator; Plasma-enhanced combustion and fuel reforming; Other environment plasma technologies.
Sustainable Energy Systems Planning, Integration and Management
Energy systems worldwide are undergoing major transformation as a consequence of the transition towards the widespread use of clean and sustainable energy sources. Basically, this involves massive changes in technical and organizational levels together with tremendous technological upgrades in different sectors ranging from energy generation and transmission systems down to distribution systems. These actions generate huge science and engineering challenges and demands for expert knowledge in the field to create solutions for a sustainable energy system that is economically, environmentally, and socially viable while meeting high security requirements. This book covers these promising and dynamic areas of research and development, and presents contributions in sustainable energy systems planning, integration, and management.
