The Look of Success

2026/02/09 出版

The Look of Success: Redefining Achievement, Identity, and Fulfillment on Your Own Terms challenges conventional ideas about what it means to succeed in today's professional and personal landscape. For decades, success has been framed as a destination defined by productivity, status, income, or recognition. Yet many high-achieving individuals find that reaching these milestones does not bring the fulfillment they expected. Instead, it creates a sense of misalignment-the realization that the life they have built no longer reflects who they are becoming. In this reflective, research-informed work, Dr. Karissa Thomas reframes success not as something to chase or perform, but as an evolving alignment between identity, values, and lived experience. Drawing on leadership insight, adult identity development, and emotionally intelligent reflection, the book explores how cultural expectations, inherited narratives, and professional conditioning shape how success is defined and pursued.Rather than offering formulas or surface-level motivation, The Look of Success invites readers to examine the internal dimensions of achievement. Through grounded insight and reflective prompts, readers are guided to distinguish external performance from internal fulfillment, recognize where ambition has become misaligned, and redefine success in ways that support integrity, clarity, and long-term well-being.Written for professionals, leaders, students, and individuals navigating periods of transition or recalibration, this book speaks to those who have succeeded by conventional standards yet sense there is more. It offers a framework for conscious self-definition-one that allows success to be revisited, refined, and lived intentionally as life and priorities evolve. The Look of Success contributes to contemporary conversations on leadership, identity, and sustainable achievement by reframing success as something to be defined and inhabited, rather than measured or proven.

Mortgage Meltdown

Publishdrive 出版
2026/02/09 出版

Mortgage Meltdown examines the historical development and modern role of Fannie Mae in the U.S. housing finance system, tracing how a New Deal-era mortgage association evolved into a government-sponsored enterprise central to the secondary mortgage market. It explains core mechanisms of residential mortgages, securitization, mortgage-backed securities, and the guaranty model that supports investor liquidity, then follows key policy and regulatory turning points from Fannie Mae's creation in 1938 through privatization in 1970 and the expansion of its market influence. The book places Fannie Mae's operations in the context of the 2008 financial crisis, describing how incentives, regulation, competition from private-label securitization, and rising foreclosures contributed to systemic vulnerability and taxpayer exposure. It reviews major post-crisis reform efforts and outlines policy proposals focused on limiting public liability, restructuring servicing and risk management around delinquent loans, and supporting homeownership through measures that address lending practices and housing supply constraints. Written for readers interested in housing policy, financial regulation, and real estate finance, the approach is analytical and explanatory, combining market structure primers, historical narrative, and policy-focused discussion to map past outcomes and evaluate possible reforms.

The Power of Real Estate Investing

Publishdrive 出版
2026/02/09 出版

The Power of Real Estate Investing presents a seven-step framework for building long-term wealth through property, combining personal finance fundamentals with real estate strategy. It covers how mindset influences financial decisions, how to map current finances and define target income levels, and how to translate those targets into a practical wealth plan based on measurable numbers and repeatable habits. The book also addresses common barriers to taking action, including fear of failure, procrastination, and unclear goals, and explains how these factors can affect investing outcomes. The real estate sections outline how investors evaluate opportunities at the point of purchase, approach cash-flow investments, and understand basic performance measures such as cash-on-cash return. It introduces several ways investors structure deals, including cash-flow approaches, capital growth considerations, and multi-let concepts, along with guidance on focus, systems, and prioritization. Additional chapters describe partnership models and joint venture structures, ways to find and present opportunities, and how leverage can be applied across people, finance, and operations to scale a portfolio with clearer processes and reduced decision friction. This book is written for beginners and early-stage investors who want an organized entry point into real estate investing, as well as working professionals who are trying to connect budgeting, income planning, and investment strategy into a coherent path. Its approach is practical and structured, using step-by-step explanations, examples, and action-oriented checklists to clarify how investing decisions relate to cash flow, risk, and long-term financial stability.

Real Estate Investing

Publishdrive 出版
2026/02/05 出版

Real Estate Investing: A Beginner's Guide to Rental Income and Long-Term Wealth presents an introductory overview of how real estate can be used to generate returns through rent, appreciation, or a combination of both, with attention to the practical decisions that shape outcomes. It outlines core concepts such as property types (residential, commercial, industrial), active versus passive investing, and common limitations and risks that affect real estate transactions and ongoing ownership. The book is written for first-time and early-stage investors who want a structured starting point before committing capital, including readers evaluating rental properties and those comparing real estate with other investment options. It uses a practical, step-by-step approach rather than a narrative format, focusing on planning, decision-making, and basic operating considerations. Topics include essential terminology (REITs, leverage, diversification, partnerships, and related concepts), a staged investment procedure from clarifying funds availability and investment motives to selecting a target market and criteria, and an introduction to financing and capital management. It also covers property selection methods, ways to improve property returns through cost control and operational choices, and pre-investment checks such as profitability, liquidity, tax considerations, and fraud awareness.

The Wrong Kind of Expert

Ian,Richards  著
2026/01/27 出版

Most investment advice comes from the wrong kind of expert.Financial advisers, finance professors, accountants, and bank managers all have strong opinions about how you should invest in stocks. They'll tell you to diversify broadly, buy index funds, focus on the long term, and trust the process. There's just one problem: most of them have never successfully invested their own money in individual stocks. Their advice reflects their professional training and regulatory constraints-not what actually works in the real world. What if you approached stock investing differently? After selling my accounting software business in 2013, I became a full-time investor by necessity.I immersed myself in studying the methods of the world's greatest investors-Warren Buffett, Charlie Munger, Peter Lynch, and others who had actually built fortunes through stock investing. I combined their wisdom with my own business experience to develop a practical approach that made sense in the real world. The result? Average annual returns of over 35% since 2013.This is the approach I share in The Wrong Kind of Expert. In this book, you'll discover: Why conventional wisdom about diversification and index funds often leads to mediocre returnsHow to evaluate stocks the way successful business owners evaluate businesses-by understanding what actually creates valueThe lessons from history's most successful investors, and how to apply them todayWhy most professional investors underperform the market, and what you can do differentlyHow to avoid the psychological traps and emotional mistakes that destroy returnsThe critical difference between price and value, and why this distinction is essentialReal-world examples of investment decisions and what they reveal about effective investingThis isn't academic theory. It's practical guidance from someone who's done it.I don't manage other people's money. I don't sell financial products. I don't earn commissions on trades. I have nothing to sell you except the information in this book-the same approach that's built substantial wealth for me over the past decade. The advice in these pages is fundamentally different from what you'll hear from financial professionals. I learned from investors who actually made money, not from textbooks written by academics. I think about stocks as a business owner, not as a finance professional calculating risk metrics.Business owners think about value, growth, competitive advantages, and long-term prospects. Financial professionals think about asset allocation, risk-adjusted returns, and portfolio optimization. One of these approaches consistently makes money. The other keeps financial professionals employed.Who this book is for: This book is for intelligent people who want to take control of their investments but are tired of advice that seems designed to benefit everyone except the investor. It's not a get-rich-quick scheme. It's a thoughtful, common-sense approach to building wealth through stock investing-the kind of approach that works when your own money is at stake. If you're ready to think like a business owner and learn from investors who actually succeeded, this book will show you how.

You did everything right, and you're still invisible. This is the playbook for being seen, respected, and unforgettable. The Unforgettable You is not another personal branding cheerleader. It's a self-coaching reset for professionals who've followed the rules, delivered results, and still get overlooked in rooms where decisions are made. Through 21 clarity-building chapters, you'll dismantle the quiet scripts that keep smart people small: that you need to be louder to be credible, that showing your work is bragging, that you'll be chosen if you just keep your head down and put the work in. You'll learn how to position your work, voice, and value in a way that builds recognition and opens the right doors, online, in interviews, and inside systems that filter people out before they're even seen. This is not a mindset book. It combines neuroscience, narrative strategy, and lived experience from years of helping others rebuild after layoffs, transitions, and systemic underestimation. It's written for fresh starters, mid-career relaunchers, and overlooked experts, especially those who don't want to fake extroversion or build a personal brand empire. This is an introvert-friendly, neurodiverse-aware, research-backed alternative to shouting. This is how you stop shrinking and start being remembered.Access the related free Career Prompt VAULT series at: www.theunforgettable.me/coursesWritten by Kinga Bali, a visibility architect and digital polymath, this book emerges from both research and lived experience. What began as an MBA thesis on executive presence, reputation management and positioning evolved into a body of work shaped by years of guiding others through career pivots, layoffs, and underrecognition. Kinga's own journey, from under-seen contributor to Top Voice, university lecturer, and author, quietly informs every chapter, offering not a system to follow, but a standard to grow into. This is the book that ends up stolen, or coffee-stained, marked, dog-eared, borrowed, left in your bag, because it works. Navigating Leadership In Chaos

Mohd,Rashid  著
2026/01/18 出版

The purpose of this study was to explore leader perception of leadership characteristics during times of chaotic change, like COVID-19. To explore this, I asked "What are leaders' perceptions of effective leadership characteristics in times of chaotic change?" This study was grounded in the constructs of Narcissistic Leadership, ServantLeadership, and used Q-Sort methodology. Participants were asked to sort 44 servant and Narcissistic Leadership characteristics from most effective to least, within the context of the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic. Results were analyzed and a three-factor solution emerged. This study showed that not only do leaders perceive both Servant and Narcissistic Leadership characteristics to be effective during times of chaotic change, but also that there are different styles of leadership that can be effective in the context of chaotic change events like the COVID-19 pandemic.

Too Good to Get Hired

Niche Press 出版
2026/01/16 出版

This isn't a book about job searching. It's a survival guide for a system that punishes overqualified job candidates. If you're a professional over 40 - especially over 50 or 60 - you know the job market that once rewarded your experience now penalizes you for it. You've been told you're too experienced, too senior, too educated, or not the right fit. Translation: you're too good to get hired. Today's hiring system is run by algorithms and overseen by young hiring managers who don't want to hire anyone who reminds them of their mom or dad. They don't want to be outshined. Instead, they want safe, compliant, and cheap. But you're not done. You're not obsolete. You just need to understand the rules of how the modern employment system really works and how to win inside it. Too Good to Get Hired decodes the AI filters, biases, and fears that keep the most qualified people unemployed and provides a clear roadmap for turning your experience into an asset and not a liability. You don't need to work harder or dumb yourself down. You just need to reposition yourself. Because it only takes one yes to get into the right job for you

A Succession Blueprint

John,Vamos  著
2026/01/16 出版

When it comes to family wealth, there is a curse active throughout the world: the first generation (G1) makes it, the second generation (G2) enjoys it, and the third generation (G3) destroys it. A Succession Blueprint is the companion guide to Four Voices: Managing love, loyalty, family wealth and succession through the generations, which tells the story of love, loyalty and wealth - and how they can happily co-exist and endure through the generations once we understand the family business theorem.Four Voices shared the journey from ungoverned to governed via the Jacksons - a fictional family whose stories helped illustrate the unique and complex challenges of family enterprise that so often lead to conflict, dysfunction and angst. In this companion guide, we revisit the Jacksons - focusing on the conversation between co-founders John and Ayesha Jackson and their trusted advisor during a series of meetings, where they are desperate to better understand the challenges they face and find a proven solution.

Culture is not a poster or a perk. It is the cheap, repeatable system of behaviours that helps small teams move fast without breaking trust. Inside, you will learn to turn fuzzy values into observable **values to behaviours**, design **low cost rituals at work** that compress coordination, and create **recognition systems that work** as teaching tools rather than sugar hits. You will adopt **decision principles for startups** that speed judgment without gambling the future, set **remote team communication norms** that protect flow, and use clear **conflict rules for teams** so disagreements make the work better. This is for founders, leads, and team members who want less noise and more output. If you've felt the cost of vague values, meeting creep, or heroic firefighting, you'll find scripts, checklists, and cadences you can run next Monday morning.
