The second part of the analysis deals with the different groups of the Empire, how they differ from House of Atreides, and how this difference is the basis for Paul Atreides, the scion of House Atreides and his Fremen allies to dominate and imperialise the Empire in the next movies. The differences between House Atreides, House Harkonnen and the Imperial Army are illustrated by the presentation of their home planets, which are examined in more detail in the analysis.

Adverbial Resumption in Verb Second Languages
While Verb-third (V3) patterns have long been studied in verb-second (V2) languages, a similar pattern in which an initial adverbial constituent is resumed by a clause-internal element has been much less studied. The latter is referred to as 'adverbial resumption' and it also has the character of being a V3 phenomenon. Therefore, the pattern is labelled 'adverbial V3 resumption' or 'adverbial V3.' The present volume is an up-to-date overview of the subject featuring case studies of individual languages that display certain patterns of V3. The authors discuss this pattern in relation to several different languages, addressing among other things issues of microvariation in contemporary varieties and diachronic variation. The book covers Medieval Romance, Old Italian, Old English, diachronic and synchronic varieties of German, varieties of Flemish and Dutch, Icelandic, varieties of Swedish, and Norwegian. Through analyses of adverbial resumptive V3 orders in Germanic and Romance, the contributors explore the nature of V2: while adverbial resumption only occurs in varieties that observe the V2 rule, in itself it leads to apparent violations of linear V2 order, namely to V3 orders. Adverbial Resumption in Verb Second Languages provides comparative analyses which touch upon the nature of sentence-external versus sentence-internal adjuncts, and the fine-grained architecture of the clausal functional hierarchy. The given lesson combines the subjects Science and English and especially aims to increase pupils' interest in the natural phenomenon "the pond". The first chapter of this paper focuses on the general facts regarding my lesson followed by the consultation of the Science and English subject curriculum considering the lesson's contents, whereas the final paragraph deals with the description of the lesson's learning environment. The lesson plan is presented in the second segment of the paper, followed by the detailed analysis of the teacher talk based on the lesson's transcript. The subsequent part focuses on the teaching strategy "Scaffolding", an approach describing a teacher's situated help for pupils in order to support their learning progresses. Thus, this paper aims to invalidate and criticise Caruth's approach to the unrepresentability of trauma by investigating three poems: two poems were written by war veterans, previously deployed in Afghanistan, and one was written by a veteran's daughter to prove the literal representability of trauma. A close reading of the stylistic devices, tone and created atmosphere emphasises the possibilities that poets must present their trauma through literature. Lastly, the analysis of Olivia Hill's poem reflects on the trauma perception from a different angle - namely, from outside the traumatised mind. Additionally, it underscores the effects that parental traumatic experiences have on children. 'Trauma forces the self into hiding, and while the sensory manifold keeps "recording" sights, sounds, smells and feelings, the brain fails to work them through. The videographer leaves, but the tape keeps running'. This image, provided by Boston University's Joshua Pederson in his paper on challenging literary trauma theorists, reflects one perspective of the nature of trauma that is shared by many scholars and psychologists around the world. The Structural Design of Language
Although there have been numerous investigations of biolinguistics within the Minimalist Program over the last ten years, many of which appeal to the importance of Turing's Thesis (that the structural design of systems must obey physical and mathematical laws), these studies have by and large ignored the question of the structural design of language. They have paid significant attention to identifying the components of language - settling on a lexicon, a computational system, a sensorimotor performance system, and a conceptual-intentional performance system; however, they have not examined how these components must be inter-structured to meet thresholds of simplicity, generality, naturalness, and beauty, as well as of biological and conceptual necessity. In this book, Stroik and Putnam take on Turing's challenge. They argue that the narrow syntax - the lexicon, the Numeration, and the computational system - must reside, for reasons of conceptual necessity, within the performance systems. Communicative Functions and Linguistic Forms in Speech Interaction
Prosody is generally studied at a separate linguistic level from syntax and semantics. It analyses phonetic properties of utterances such as pitch and prominence, and orders them into phonological categories such as pitch accent, boundary tone, and metrical grid. The goal is to define distinctive formal differentiators of meanings in utterances. But what these meanings are is either excluded or a secondary concern. This book takes the opposite approach, asking what are the basic categories of meaning that speakers want to transmit to listeners? And what formal means do they use to achieve it? It places linguistic form in functions of speech communication, and takes into account all the formal exponents - sounds, words, syntax, prosodies - for specific functional coding. Basic communicative functions such as 'questioning' may be universally assumed, but their coding by linguistic bundles varies between languages. A comparison of function-form systems in English, German and Mandarin Chinese shows this formal diversity for universal functions.

Using Grice's idea of Conversational Principles, the study seeks to evaluate the selected conversational interactions in a formalised manner. Conversational theatre is characterised by the skillful use of language as a potent tool for communication; nevertheless, in Beckett's play, characters are concerned with various elements of language and its usage. The dialogues utilised in an absurd play are nonsensical exchanges in which there is no sense of cohesion between the characters. It opens up a wide range of possibilities for the study of many elements of language. It appears silly, yet it serves as a means of communication between the characters. The characters in this story frequently utilise broken words, make nonsensical comments, repeat themselves, and hesitate for no apparent reason, which is typical of the genre. His adept use of informal language and fragmented sentences exemplifies how language should be used in a natural setting.

Prepositional Mistakes in German L2 English Speakers

Whether it is grammar, wrong use of a vocabulary word or their pronunciation, no matter their age or grade, the students are corrected whenever they say something wrong, but not once did I notice a teacher point out any prepositional mistakes to their students. But prepositional mistakes seem to be very common, I heard them in loads of sentences students tried to form on their own. As a result of this observation, I want to conduct in this study how many and what kind of prepositional mistakes are being made in the English language acquisition of German native speakers.
