The aim of this course is for students to practise and improve their speaking, listening, and pronunciation skills. Along the way the student will learn plenty of new vocabulary - including non-literal English expressions, such as idioms, phrasal verbs, and slang - and also practise reading, writing, and grammar skills, e.g. verb forms, word order, parts of a sentence, and so on. This book provides an organised sequence of learning activities for students at intermediate level (CEF B2). We believe that there is easily enough material here for a 90-minute lesson. Teachers’ Research in Language Education
Over the past decade, interest in language teacher education and professionalization programs has increased significantly mainly due to global educational reforms, which have been driven by internationalization, multilingualism, the rise of new literacy and the incorporation of technologies. These reforms, based on the challenges of knowledge societies and networks, have created the need to re-evaluate and reconceptualize teacher training and teacher professional development as a "fundamental connection to teaching" (Bryant et al., 2008; V矇laz de Medrano & Vaillant, 2009; Espinosa, 2012; Johnson and Golombeck, 2018). The main objective is, then, to "prepare the new generations within an increasingly uncertain and demanding global scenario" (P矇rez Ru穩z, 2014, p 114). This publication addresses work on the education of language teachers in a variety of sociocultural, educational and institutional contexts carried out in Mexico and Latin America with various methodological designs and approaches from different theoretical perspectives. Therefore, in the context of current challenges, we seek to promote the exchange, discussions of experience and results of research and reflection that can influence the direction and implementation of language policies regarding teacher education and teacher professionalization for language teaching.

Foreign Language Test Anxiety in EFL Learners. How Does It Affect the Language Skills of Writing, Reading, Listening and Oral Production?

Furthermore, this thesis deals with two main questions. The first question is in which way the test anxiety affects the language skills of reading, listening, writing and speaking comprehension. The second question focusses on the factors that impact language test anxiety in oral production. In order to be able to answer these two questions, I will write about the theoretical background in the first part of my bachelor thesis. First, I will introduce second language acquisition in general, followed by a general definition of anxiety. According to the definition, different types of anxiety are represented. After explaining different types of anxiety, I will explain the topic foreign language anxiety specifically. This is followed by an introduction to the topic of foreign language test anxiety. After the theoretical background has been presented, I will discuss various existing studies to answer the two main questions. For this purpose, I will deal separately with reading, listening, writing and oral production regarding the first question. In the second question, I will then focus specifically on factors that can have an impact on test anxiety. At the end, the results are discussed and concluded.

The Polish language was brought to Brazil by Polish-speaking peasants who came to the New World in the late 19th and early 20th century. The Role of’ Vocabulary Knowledge in ESL Reading Comprehension
The importance of vocabulary knowledge, syntactic awareness, and inference generation abilities in reading comprehension has been Jong established in the first language research. By contrast, fewer studies have documented the role of these components in the reading comprehension of English language learners in the field of second language (L2) research. The proposed study thus examines the role of vocabulary knowledge. syntactic awareness, and inference skills in L2 reading comprehension in young learners. who have age-appropriate word decoding ability and the required phonological processing ability. Two of the primary aims of the study were to establish vocabulary knowledge, syntactic awareness and inference generation ability as distinguishable psychological constructs, and to examine the strength of the relations between the constructs and with respect to reading comprehension. The third aim was to find out whether vocabulary knowledge, syntactic awareness and inference generation ability explain differences between less skilled and skilled L2 readers, and whether the correlations between the constructs and reading comprehension were different for less skilled and skilled L2 readers.Throughout the book, consciously used the terms -skilled- and -less skilled-comprehenders, since the term 'poor comprehenders' is used in a very specialized way to refer 10 learners, vho haye an underlying deficit. In our study. no clinical assessments were done and therefore there was no way to establish that poor comprehension was due to an underlying deficit or due to external factors like teaching methodology, reading exposure. or socio-economic background. To be on the safer side, learners who had low reading comprehension (less than 0.4 standard deviation below age-appropriate and comprehension mean) were referred to as 'less skilled comprehenders.' To do so, I will first address those three concepts in the theoretical part of the work. For the analysis I will be focusing on the different power groups of the movie. Through different sequences of the movie, I will focus on the colonial and imperial oppression of the Fremen and will pay special attention to visual aspects observable in the movie. The second part of the analysis deals with the different groups of the Empire, how they differ from House of Atreides, and how this difference is the basis for Paul Atreides, the scion of House Atreides and his Fremen allies to dominate and imperialise the Empire in the next movies. The differences between House Atreides, House Harkonnen and the Imperial Army are illustrated by the presentation of their home planets, which are examined in more detail in the analysis.
