Standing Resolute
Standing ResoluteLiving Boldly In Christ We desperately need spiritual courage in today's world. Like the football players I have coached in college, Christians face intense pressure, uncertainty, and hostility. Often, we must stand alone against formidable odds, confronted with trials designed to test our faith and resolve. But just as my players learn to anticipate greatness on the football field, believers should live with a similar expectancy-an assurance that God is working powerfully, even amid adversity. The reality is stark: the world we live in today is openly hostile to Christ and those who follow Him. Around the globe, believers face persecution, imprisonment, and even martyrdom. Yet, in America, comfort has often led to spiritual complacency. Many drift casually in and out of commitment, unaware of the high stakes of their faith. The story of Daniel in the Bible offers lessons on standing firm amidst pressures to conform. It's time to embrace courageous faith, resolve to live uncompromisingly for Christ, and anticipate greatness, not in our strength but through the power and grace of the One who empowers us. Let's stand resolute together. Ron Brown has a long-standing association with Husker football, having served as an assistant coach for 24 seasons. He became the Director of Player Support and Outreach for Nebraska football in 2018 before assuming his current role of coaching punt returners, fullbacks and assisting the running backs coach. He co-founded Kingdom Sports in 2018 and has been a well-known speaker at FCA and churches throughout his career.

The Blues of Summer
The Blues of Summer is the nostalgic true story of a bygone era when baseball ruled the summers of Daniels County, Montana. The book traces how the homesteaders brought the game to northeastern Montana in the early 1900s and how Daniels County -- dubbed "Baseball Country" by the Daniels County Leader -- was always passionate about baseball. Scobey, the county seat, was a magnet for talented baseball players, including Happy Felsh and Swede Risberg from the 1919 Chicago White Sox, who played for the Scobey Giants town team in 1925. The Scobey town team became known as the Plainsmen and won two Montana state AAU and semipro championships in 1958 and 1960. But the book's heart is the story of the Scobey Blues American Legion Baseball team, which began playing in 1930 and won eight Montana state Class B Legion championships for legendary coach Clyde H. "Doc" Norman between 1969 and 1982. Author Joe Puckett, who played on four state Legion championship teams in the late 1970s, tells his baseball story and the story of the teams that came before and after his playing days.Due primarily to the dwindling population in northeastern Montana, the Scobey Blues Legion program fell into decline and ultimately folded following the 2003 season, with a brief revival attempt from 2016 to 2019. Like the Brooklyn Dodgers of Roger Kahn's The Boys of Summer, the Scobey Blues have faded away, but they will forever live in The Blues of Summer. The book, published on the 100th anniversary of the founding of American Legion Baseball -- "a program of service to the youth of America" -- is a testament to the honor and respect the author holds for its founder, The American Legion. The book was made possible by the local newspaper, the Daniels County Leader, which had closely covered the town and Legion baseball teams for over a century, providing the author with access to its archive of articles and photos.

Leo Lyons, the Rochester Jeffersons and the Birth of the NFL
Leo Lyons was an essential member of the group romanticized as the founding fathers of the National Football League. As the owner of the Rochester Jeffersons, one of the most successful semi-pro teams in the country, he attended the league's organizational meeting in Canton, Ohio, along with George Halas, Jim Thorpe, Carl Storck, Ralph Hay and a handful of other visionaries. This book tells the story of Lyons' participation in many of the league's important historical moments as well as the many concepts he brought to the game. A pioneer in the integration of football. Lyons hired Henry McDonald, the fourth known black professional player, in 1912. Lyons' innovative "Jeffs" logo introduced in 1915 was the first used by a professional football team. He conceptualized football trading cards as a way of promoting professional football a year later. He even collaborated with representatives from the Wilson Sporting Goods Company to transform the ball from its melon shape into the one fans recognize today. This meticulously researched biography presents Lyons' struggles to keep his team afloat in the turbulent early days of the NFL, along with his encounters with such legendary figures as Walter Camp, Jim Thorpe, Curly Lambeau, George Halas, Joe Carr, Red Grange, Art Rooney, Pete Rozelle and many more. His involvement with underground figures as he sought to sign the famous Grange for his Rochester Jeffersons is presented in fine detail in this first biography of the NFL founding father.

Unhittable
The baseball expert famously known as PitchingNinja explores the revolution that has given pitchers an unprecedented advantage in today's game. Can Tarik Skubal three-peat as AL Cy Young? After winning Rookie of the Year and his first Cy Young, how does Paul Skenes get even nastier? Can Jacob deGrom crack 200 strikeouts again? How will Spencer Strider approach his return to dominance? Which pitchers stand to gain the most from an automated strike zone? And what separates Shohei Ohtani's approach to training from everyone else--why is he the outlier? If you're asking questions like these as the season approaches, Unhittable is just what you've been looking for to prep for Opening Day. Pitching dominates baseball as never before. Spin rate, sweepers, 105 mph fastballs--all have become standard when evaluating pitching arms and techniques and are familiar lingo in discussion and analysis of the game. Gone is the era of the swaggering power hitters. Batting averages are close to the deadball era; team records for strikeouts are broken and then broken again. The game has fundamentally changed, and hitters may never catch up. A self-taught coach who has evolved into a top pitching analyst, Rob Friedman has closely observed this revolution that has transformed baseball for both players and fans. Friedman is sought after by players like Cy Young Award-winners Paul Skenes and Tarik Skubal, and All-Stars such as Yu Darvish, and he spotlights the influential figures behind this transformation: Tom House, a former MLB pitcher turned coaching visionary, utilized cutting-edge technology to refine the techniques of legends like Nolan Ryan and Randy Johnson. His unconventional methods paved the way for a new era shaped by the collision of technology and tradition.Brent Strom, another MLB pitching insider, has used data to revive flagging careers--helping stars like Justin Verlander, Gerrit Cole, and Charlie Morton to use technology to enhance their performance.Kyle Boddy, of Driveline Baseball, has trained elite pitchers such as Trevor Bauer, Shohei Ohtani, and Clayton Kershaw, using advanced analytics and technology, as well as others.Peppered with insights drawn from interviews with top pitchers, Unhittable is an insider's look at how these advancements have been used by players themselves, and how they have fundamentally changed America's pastime.
