In an era before corporate average fuel economy (CAF?) requirements and emissions standards, a pioneering General Motors executive was tasked with taking over a dying division and returning it to profitability. In June 1956, Semon E. "Bunkie" Knudsen became the general manager of the Pontiac Motor Division. He injected the stodgy, boring product line with a large dose of performance. "Race on Sunday; sell on Monday" was Knudsen's philosophy. Although the idea of Pontiac getting into racing was far-fetched in 1956, Knudsen had a plan. In 1957, Pontiac released the Bonneville, which was a limited-edition, fuel-injected, high-performance convertible that was aimed directly at the burgeoning enthusiast market. Knudsen skillfully crafted a new youthful persona for Pontiac, and the sales began to climb. Pontiac's Super Duty factory-built drag cars produced an amazing line of winners. The performance mentality was clearly working, as Pontiac sales jumped to third place among the manufacturers--behind only Chevrolet and Ford. After GM ceased all racing activities in 1963, Pontiac hardly missed a beat. This is the story of the Cincinnati, Hamilton & Dayton Railroad (later Railway) from its creation in 1846 until its demise in 1917. Obviously, much of the information is also appropriate to other models in the 250 series, such as the 250GTL, 250SWB etc. After we published Jim Riff's '250GT Service & Maintenance Notes' in 2006, we began to search for additional documentation relating to this series of Ferraris and we were fortunate enough to acquire copies of the three factory manuals included in this compilation. In addition, we also located copies of the factory 'Laycock Overdrive Service Manual for the 250GTE/330GT', plus additional Weber and Marelli documentation appropriate to the 250 series which has since been appended to Jim's 2006 publication to produce a revised and expanded 2024 edition which is available under ISBN 9781588500601. This manual is applicable to all 650cc oil-in-frame UK, General Export and USA models including the T120R, TR6R, TR6C, T120RV, TR6RV and TR6CV manufactured between October 1970 and September 1973. It is generally accepted that 1971 through 1973 are the appropriate model years for the 650cc oil-in-frame machines. However, in September 1973 the Triumph employees barricaded the factory gates and began an 18 month 'sit in' effectively managing the company as a co-operative. During that 18 month period there were some T120RV models assembled and released. However, the remainder did not leave the factory until the 'sit-in' ended in 1975. Consequently, the actual production run for the T120RV can be considered to be from 1971 to 1975. While many of the mechanical components were shared with the earlier 650cc twins the introduction of the oil-in-frame models required the publication of a 'revised' factory workshop manual that covered both the new electrical and mechanical components and the five-speed models that were introduced in 1972. Consequently, owners of the late model 650cc machines are subjected to considerable confusion surrounding the appropriate selection of the multitude of originals and reprints of the various 650cc manuals that have recently flooded the marketplace.
