Environment, Natural Resources, Land, Air & Water in Rural Areas, Iran

2025/07/19 出版

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) highlight the links between human well-being, economic advancement, and a stable environment. The loss of agricultural production due to climate change and natural disasters has attracted widespread attention. The global environmental situation has faced many serious challenges in recent times, with climate change, ecological degradation, and loss of biodiversity becoming increasingly serious problems. Today, the livelihood of millions of rural households worldwide is closely related to the environment. The current level of livelihood dependency on environmental income is reported as high in many developing countries. Therefore, dependency of local livelihood on environmental income is considerable in developing countries. This has been considered as one of the main drivers of environmental degradation and depletion, especially in developing countries. Real people who protect nature are local communities themselves. If it is questionable to say that communities are really only practical to protect the environment, there is no doubt they are the main victims of environmental degradation. In degraded areas, soil is shallow, nutrients reduced.

Mirchi Leaf Disease Detection

Scholars' Press 出版
2025/07/19 出版

Early plant disease detection plays a significant role in efficient crop yield. Plant diseases like black measles, black rot, bacterial spot, etc. affect the growth, crop quality of plants and economic impacts in the agriculture industry. To avoid the impact of these diseases, expensive approaches and the use of pesticides are some solutions the farmers usually implement. The use of chemical means damages the plant and the surrounding environment. In addition, this kind of approach intensifies the cost of production and major monetary loss to farmers. Early discovery of diseases as they occur is the most important period for efficient disease management. Manual disease detection through human experts to identify and recognize plant diseases is a usual practice in agriculture. With the improvements in technology, automatic detection of plant diseases from raw images is possible through computer vision and artificial intelligence researches.

Improvement of Some Aromatic Rice

Twenty eight aromatic rice genotypes were grown in a randomized complete block design with three replications for two kharif seasons. Information on sixteen quantitative characters analyzed biometrically. The estimates of genetic variability indicated the predominance of additive gene action for the expression of characters. The result of path analysis indicating that selection for important characters which will help improve grain yield in the population under study. Studies on genetic divergence revealed that all 28 genotypes could be grouped in to 5 clusters. The clustering pattern of genotypes indicated little relation of genetic divergence with geographical differentiation. Considering genetic divergence, relative importance of characters in determining the yield in this particular population and per performance of the genotypes as well as cluster means, crossing between the intra-cluster genotypes are most likely to yield a considerable amount of hetrosis in F1 generation and to provide a wide spectrum of recombinants in segregating generations.

Onflict and Conlict Resolution in Agriculture

2025/07/19 出版

Conflict and Conflict Resolution in Agriculture by Dr. Taibatu Abdullahi Manga is a comprehensive and empirically grounded study of the causes, impacts, and solutions to conflicts in agricultural systems. The book explores the multifaceted nature of agricultural disputes, including land tenure battles, farmer-herder conflicts, water resource struggles, and tensions between smallholder farmers and corporate agribusiness. The book is structured across nine chapters that examine conflict from historical, legal, institutional, and socio-cultural perspectives. Dr. Manga highlights the importance of traditional conflict resolution methods such as mediation by elders and community leaders, while also assessing modern legal frameworks, policy interventions, and technological tools like GIS and mobile-based early warning systems. She emphasizes the role of climate change, demographic pressures, and political manipulation as exacerbating factors in agricultural disputes.

CSM-CERES-Maize model (DSSAT v4.0)

2025/07/14 出版

In recent years, the use of crop models has grown exponentially for agro-climatic and site-specific resource management aimed at increasing grain yield. Among these models, CMS-CERES-Maize is one of the most prominent. However, limited academic literature exists on how to best utilize such simulation models to optimize yield in developing countries like Nepal. Calibration and validation using available datasets are prerequisites for effective application. Site-specific management of resources-such as nitrogen (dose, timing, and method) and water (amount and timing)-has been shown to increase maize yield while minimizing losses. Similarly, factors such as annual climate variation, sowing dates, and initial soil moisture content significantly affect yield performance. Findings from this study suggest that changes in the magnitude of climatic parameters can place stress on resource management systems, thereby affecting grain yield. This analysis contributes to a better understanding of this emerging field and may be particularly useful to professionals and others involved in agriculture.

Improving Productivity and Fruit Quality of 'Crimson Seedless' Grapes

To improve the fruit quality of 'Crimson Seedless' table grapes, the balance between vegetative and generative growth was regulated through varying nitrogen and potassium fertilization, pruning, and fruit thinning. Quality parameters such as dry matter, sugar content, acidity, anthocyanins, stilbenes, hydroxycinnamic acids, proanthocyanidins, and flavonols were evaluated. Fruit quality was positively influenced by reduced nitrogen fertilization and by combining fruit thinning with basal leaf removal.

2025/07/11 出版

"A Biological Study of Polypodium Polypodioides (resurrection Fern) as an air Plant in Mississippi" (1922) offers a detailed examination of the Polypodium polypodioides, commonly known as the resurrection fern, within its ecological context in Mississippi. This study, authored by Louis Jerome Pessin, provides insights into the fern's unique ability to withstand desiccation and revive under favorable conditions, making it a fascinating subject for botanical study. The work explores the fern's morphological and physiological adaptations, its distribution within Mississippi, and its interactions with the surrounding environment. Researchers and students of botany, ecology, and natural history will find this study a valuable resource for understanding the resilience and adaptability of plant life. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
